So long as people are boggling over just what exactly their characters are capable of, could I get a quick explanation of the whole summoning deal?
I know it's pretty self-explanatory, but I'd like to hear the specifics so I can avoid any major screwups.
"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probably@Aevum: Basically? You gain increased speed and strength from vampirism (minor to medium boosts), but gain a weakness to sunlight that causes the skin to combust. Exoskeleton creation raises your defense and strength (major boosts), and regeneration lets you tank getting turned into mist with only a few hours of recovery time.
Matter consumption... believe it or not, this is where the real broken-ness comes in. You can release the energy in the bonds that hold molecules together, gathering bio-energy and basically reducing matter to invisible particles. It's basically a Clean Cut if clean cutting negated fatigue.

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial- Name: Dean Martin
- Age: 17
- Gender: M
- Prisoner Number: 7-45535
- Crime Committed: Stole a Mark
- Appearance: Dean is a scrawny, short, rat-faced young man. He has short, curly brown hair. He never stops moving, and always gives off the vibe that he's about to bolt. He seems to try his best to look good, but his own living conditions make him look constantly disheveled. In other words, he looks like a prom highschooler on a bad day. His mark, a smeared square with smaller squares of random size and location inside it, is located to the left of his crotch.
- Personality: Dean, just as his appearance suggests, is high-strung and paranoid. When under stress, he often yells and overreacts to things. He doesn't want to kill anyone, but he's so imbalanced that that could change at any moment. Three words: Hormonally Imbalanced Teenager. He tries to stay analytical and calm, of course, but is also quite shit at it.
- Power(s):
- 20-4—Body Amplification-Speed
- Carry Limit: 5
- Bio: Dean was a servant for some fancy high noble—two, in fact, a pair of lovers. So was his mother. And his father. And their mother, and their father, aaaaaalll the way up to the founding of this noble whose name he didn't bother knowing. What he did know had been drilled into him at a young age: he is less than the nobles because of his birth. There is no such thing as upward movement, no climbing the ladder. Dean worked with the rest of his family, secretly despising every minute, constantly afraid that he'd be executed or arrested or any number of horrible things. He saw what they did to his sister, leaving her an empty shell in a pretty dress, concubine to the noble. He would never fall under their heel. In fact, he thought he could seize the chance one day when, in a fit of defiance, Dean cracked open a crate of Marks and ground one into himself, hiding it and training. Briefly, at least. Then he got cocky, tried to speak up when his sister was dragged up to the bedroom for the seventeenth time that day. First he got his mind fucked up by The Master, and then the authorities showed up and hauled him away.
- Name: Elena "Lina" Lemon
- Age: 22
- Gender: Female
- Prisoner Number: EL-S8643
- Crime Committed: Stealing a Mark. And stabbing a lot of people.
- Appearance: I'm using a damned safebooru image now. What have I become? Her mark is this◊ located on the back of her right hand.
- Personality: Very cheerful and usually positive, optimistic, and upbeat. And she really likes punching, kicking, and - if need be - stabbing people.
- Power(s): Reactive Evolution #39
- Carry Limit: 4
- Bio: Another orphaned street kid, she met Leonidas long ago this one time that involved her stabbing a few people who were beating Leonidas for not paying his "Thieves Guild Dues". They were partners in crime from then on, with Leo usually being the runner and pickpocket, and Lina providing the muscle. The decided to get married a few years back, though it's not actually recorded anywhere due to their less-than-legal status. After that, they kept trying to move up in the world until they done screwed up and stole some marks.
So I'm guessing this is Adaptive Ability like Darwin from X-Men, but... how...?

Dean and Elizabeth are accepted!
I'm gonna look over some bios again just to check for issues, then we can start. Also, I'll get back to you on the summoning here quick. Just give me a bit.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serial- Name: Mona
- Age: 26
- Gender: Female
- Prisoner Number: GR-7777
- Crime Committed:
- Originally arrested under suspicions of murder
- It was discovered she had committed over 12 murders in the last 2 years.
- She was finally held accountable for stealing a mark, even though she was born with it.
- Appearance: "At least it's really easy to brush my teeth."◊
- Mona has an amazing figure, which she is thankful for every single day. She has light, pale skin. She doesn't know what her own face looks like, because when she looks in the mirror, she is only reminded of death. But she assumes she is attractive because she has had many sexual partners. She knows that she has green eyes. Her Mark is a small black heart location on her behind. Left cheek.
- Personality: Mona is selfish, thinking of herself above all else. She likes find music, food and drink. She enjoys living pleasurably, enjoying the company of someone intelligent, or a quick sexual thrill. She enjoys living dangerously, and to hold the contempt of others just means they are thinking about her so she is satisfied. She doesn't fear death or love it, so much that she is curious about it, and constantly questioning and experimenting with the possibilities. She has a quick wit, and her flirting ability is so strong that it could be a mark all on it's own. She is a noble in mind and heart. She will always believe that, no matter how much she is put down in prison.
- Power(s): Death Mark. She likes to use kisses. Her mark of death looks like a heart.
- Carry Limit: 5
- Bio: Mona wasn't born into royalty, she married into it. She was born in the slums built just outside of the gates of the wealthy hills and valleys that housed gigantic castles where the richest and wealthiest lived. The slums constantly bathed in the shadows of the wealthy. While the rest of her family was humble and tried to find the joy in life, she constantly craved the pleasure the rich and royal had. Her family raised her with a knowledge and responsibility in death that most humans never get. That is why she is truly so dangerous. She sees it as a tool that we do not fully understand, and if it was truly not meant to be tampered with, then she wouldn't have the ability to tamper with it. She eventually seduced and lied her way into a noble family that gave her the mark. In her trail, she left death and lies, ruining marriages and breaking up families. The way she sees it, it is all just an experiment. Her powers, her clout, all of it. See how far she can go before she ruins herself. Both with her superpowers and with her climbing of the social ladder. She was recently ratted out by a noble whose brother she had slept with and left for dead by morning. He had a mark of a heart on an...embarrassing part of his body. She was eventually linked to many other murders, and the court was baffled by how she was linked to so many deaths without actually landing any killing blows. Her Mark was discovered shortly after.

YOU ARE ONE OF US.
Yeah, pretty much exactly like Darwin. You adapt to resist damage and your environment. Also, having a thief friend is fine, but no thieves guilds. Too medieval.
Sorry, nope. Death marks need to be applied with touch. Level just indicates the damage multiplier. Also, you can't be born with a Mark. That's not how it works.

I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialThe quotation marks were there because it was just a bullshit way for them to phrase it. They were just robbing him. No actual guild, just some guys who are dead now.
edited 27th Oct '12 10:22:45 PM by nman
Okay, easy fixes. I just edited it so she does it through touch, and she seduced her way into a family that gave her the mark.
Yo KSPAM, mind answering my question from a few posts up? Ya don't have to, but I'd really appreciate it. Sorry if that sounds kinda passive-aggressive, BTW.
Also, edited Johann's appearance to include his Mark, if anyone cares.
"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyGlad someone else did. Seemed like no one but me actually said what the Mark their character has looks like
I still don't know what it's supposed to be. Can it just be anything?
Yeah, I was considering doing it when I first wrote up the sheet, but I figured that I'd slotted enough sentences in to that impenetrable text fortress already.
I'm operating under the assumption that most Marks look like some kind of fucked up tribal tattoo. Sorta like The Outsider's mark from Dishonored, if anyone here's played that. But less cattle brand and more sick ink.

"You have more than enough potential. So tell me what is the one wish that would make your soul gem shine." -Mitt Romney, probablyPretty much. It's engraved on the spirit, but due to the magic, it shows up on the skin. It's like a Magic Crest for all you Nasuverse fans.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialI'm under the impression that it's more like Fate Stay Night Command Spells, since they're originally possessed by nobles and nobles want to look elegant.
EDIT: Ninja'd

What Bindle said. I also assumed each power had a different looking one.

Alright, fine then, I added my own marks.
I want to add one, I just don't know what teleportation would look like represented on human skin
When I walk on the street counting my steps, magic keeps silent and reality stalks me.Hm... I guess I'll edit in Yohane's Marks as well since everyone else is~
What about a portal Mark? >.>
edited 27th Oct '12 11:53:42 PM by Aevum
Sometimes, you just gotta do the unexpected to catch the expected unexpected individual who you are expecting.
(and here was I thinking that a teleportation mark◊ lifted from a K-Pop band was the only option.)

When I walk on the street counting my steps, magic keeps silent and reality stalks me.Got a better idea for a Mark.◊ They never said it had to be, like, lines of one color or anything. Could be like I deed not get marked, eet eez eh lie, AH DEED NAHT. Ohai Mark.
Just imagining someone being arrested for stealing him...
"No, I swear, this Mark's been passed down my family line for centuries! He's been glued to my skin ever since I was four!"
What power would Mark give you? Super-tolerance, probably.
When I walk on the street counting my steps, magic keeps silent and reality stalks me.Alright, just gonna finish clearing up some last minute issues with some of your bios, then we can get started!
@ozaiangels: You have to steal or legally come into possession of a Mark. It's not something you can be born with. Please fix this.
@goodisgood & Space Jawa: Same thing. Please fix, then you're good.
Sorry for not noticing this stuff earlier, I've been busy. Everyone else is good. We start soon. Your first charnge is coming~
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialI rolled another profile- a Power Nullifier with the carry limit of 5. It seemed a bit iffy, so I screencapped the rolls/number generation results.
- Name: Alanna Dee. Derogative nicknames often involve sea animals, the most popular being "Fish".
- Age: 17, though she looks a little young for her age.
- Gender: Female
- Prisoner Number: FR-N21-99
- Crime Committed: Using magic while not being registered.
- Appearance: "Why is everything magenta?◊ Shirts of slightly netted, drapy material and seal pelt leggings, though I'm not sure if they still wear that or some sort of Dome uniform. Has a fish-like Mark on waves◊ on her right shoulder.
- Personality: Essentially a Cloud Cuckoolander. Naturally quite...different and unfocused on reality, but the treatment she underwent after her arrest made her condition slightly worse; she’s just not there half of the time, and has this weird vacant smiling expression on her face. She’s not insane- she just enjoys listening to the voices in her brain a little too much. Cheerful and friendly and generous in her own way, if a little easily distracted, but if you press her enough, she can become irritable and unpredictably moody, and her morals are not very tight either. She’s not very responsible, even if she is essentially aware of what’s going on, and is a little petty (though she'll admit it happily enough), but her determination is stone cold; if the situation comes where she or someone she loves is threatened, she will do whatever it takes, even if it means her death, or someone else's.
- Power(s): Power Nullification- 25◊
- Carry Limit: 4.8◊- the site I used was this one.
- Bio:
- Daughter of a family belonging to a tribe of seafarers that followed a circuit around regions north of the city, Alanna was born on a busy ship that didn't have time to give her a more indolent childhood, which caused a permanent rift between her mother and herself, while her relationship with her father was quite non-existent. Due to this, she became withdrawn and developed some trust issues, dividing her time among daydreaming and practising her skill in magic, from the Mark she had inherited. Her fondest memories were associated with the onshore forums and ports the tribe sometimes stopped at to trade, where she could appreciate the closely knit cities and animals and sunlight without a rocking ground beneath her and salt spray in the air. She began to stay onshore periodically with allies and close friends of her family's in order to prolong her time on land.
- During one of her stays, her father was killed at sea. After attending the onshore funeral, she left the tribe due to survivor's guilt and regret, and travelled down to where the promising new reign was beginning. It turned out not so promising, and her arrest was quite simple- in the rush to find new prisoners to throw into the Dome, the government threw in anyone they could find, and Alanna, not bothering to hide her Mark, was quickly taken into custody. Being an obvious seafarer, or "Fish", from her garb and accent didn't help.
