I feel like if we push this conversation, things are gonna get heated.

The entire Historia pregnancy is still a pretty hot issue.

Ah, apologies. Let's discuss how apparently the whole team went on a road trip to Marley. But then Eren ran off on his own, and screwed up their entire plan.

People in this series suffer from Poor Communication Kills on an astounding level. No one is willing to just talk to other people, resulting in so many tragic events. Eren continues the fine Yeager tradition of not talking to people. Dude, your friends are plotting to murder you if you don't tell them wtf you're thinking.

I'm still going to maintain that Eren tried the best course of action he could think of.

The reveal that Hizuru was using them all along, Zeke convincing Marley to act against Paradis and Willy convincing the entire world against Paradis meant peaceful negotiations is impossible.

Sadly. The lack of information and proper communication is going to cast a huge rift between Eren and Paradis.

How does Historia getting pregnant before inheriting the Beast Titan interfere with their plans? Wouldn't it just mean one more kid with royal blood?

Might depend on the baby's due date vs Zeke's expiration date and how Titanization would affect a pregnancy. More simply could just be she got pregnant in what sounds like a personal affair rather than an arranged one.

Basically, according to Nile: there would be a high risk of miscarriage or other complications that could risk her health.

Just to know, are you discussing chapter 108 or chapter 109 spoilers? There were two chapters last month and I've just read 108, but only 107 was translated, so I'm not sure if I'm safe…

To be quite frank the guy ranting about Historia is kind of an dick so I don't know if he's worth listening to other than for some of the politics going on here. Also, I have an very high suspicion considering how their is an heavy emphasis on Nikkolo's special wine that those naysayers might get poisoned and killed.

The rest of the chapter is pretty depressing though. The fuck-up in this chapter could be easily solved if they talked to Eren and he told them what he was thinking. Especially in regards to Connie about his laughing. We know Eren wasn't just laughing but was laugh/crying but Connie doesn't. I am surprised Mikasa didn't mention that Eren did that before when Hannes died while crying considering she mentions Dina with a backshot of Dina's Titan dying.

One thing I will say is I have an very high suspicion that Eren is trying to be the Erwin of his friends, with Mikasa as his Levi. He's willing to sacrifice his morality, and his social life (Erwin at some point was said to of had an love life but he sacrificed it for the Survey Corps), and his own reputation to survive the nastiness that Willy started.

[up][up]We’re currently discussing the recently translated and released 108.

Nothing for chapter 109 will be out until the start of next month.

[up] Oh, okay, good.

…Wait, how come we got chapter 107 last month when 107 and 108 were released simultaneously in this month's issue? I'm confuse. >.>

About the chapter… I'm almost glad this flashback wasn't shown before Sasah's death, because it would have made it ten times worse.

Regarding Gabi, I'm more or less with Harostar here. Her actions aren't commendable in the least, but I wouldn't say they're not understandable. Right now she's a paranoid soldier desperately clinging to the only "truth" she knows − we're the good ones, they're the demons, I must kill them before they kill me. The armband scene was a clever way to convey that.

Finally read the chapter.

...I assume everyone is just gonna die.

Or more hopefully (but still sad) Eren is maybe pulling a one man Zero-Approval Gambit.

He was already being said to be the world's enemy. Maybe his plan is to make himself look like a villain that's forcing the others to do everything then turn everyone on him instead of the island as a whole.

I mean, we just heard the group pointing out the mind control powers of the original Titan. Even if some people don't know the full details, just knowing about that power might be enough to convince people he could do it.

He's only got a few years left anyway, so he might be using that time to make sure all the heat goes to him and that the power dies with him.

Do you know what could be worse than Nikolo's wine being poisoned?

It, and a lot of the other food he's cooked, could be spiked with Zeke's spinal fluid.

[up][up] The one hole in that theory I can think of offhand is that the power won't die with Eren, and he knows it. It was revealed in the Marley flashback that if a Titan Shifter dies without passing on their power to someone specifically, it simply reappears in some randomly born Eldian. The only thing I could imagine Eren doing to try and avoid that is find some far off place to die completely alone, and I honestly wouldn't expect that to work.

Oh right.

Forgot about that. It's a really problem too.

...what the hell is the deal with these powers anywhere? It's never really been discussed, but that particular aspect is the most explicitly magical aspect of something that's already near magical (though Sufficiently Analyzed Magic).

There has been an theory going around that what Eren may be trying to do is gather up all the Titan powers, erase the existance of Eldians and Titans in everybodies (barring the Ackermans) minds. And then seal himself off forever.

Thusly the only ones whom would be aware of the truth would be Mikasa and Levi. That would be an kind of fitting Bittersweet ending but I doubt it'll happen cause Armin would die in the process and we still haven't seen Annie do anything yet. On top of that there is no indication that the Founding Titan can effect anyone else but the Eldians, letalone globally.

I am curious to see were the Eren vs. his friends thing may go.

sgamer82 Since: Jan, 2001
#11568: Aug 11th 2018 at 9:37:02 PM

That assumes that the Ackermans are the only ones immune to the mind control effects. I was under the impression that, give or take a bloodline, it only affected Eldians at all.

The Marleyan she seems mostly affected by history being Written by the Winners.

The idea that Eren is going to invoke a Zero-Approval Gambit on himself is utterly ridiculous in my opinion.

Would it utterly erase or solve the ingrained hated the Eldians endure?

No, at best the Eldians are going to be a pariah race instead of being killed outright. At worst, it would leave the Eldians with no way to defend themselves from the Final Solution.

You've got it reversed. The Eldian people are the only ones subject to the King's power, the same way they're the only ones capable of becoming Titans. Everyone else is immune to those powers, which was the reason the government persecuted non-Eldians including the Ackermans. It was the Fritz/Reiss family working alongside a select group of non-Eldian nobility, using the Founding Titan to control everyone inside the Walls.

There's a vague mention of ethnic cleansing being carried out within the Walls, with Mikasa's mother being one of the last survivors. That's why her family was basically living in the middle of nowhere on the very edge of Wall Maria. Because the 1st Brigade had been killing non-Eldians for decades, to ensure that no one outside the central conspiracy would be capable of resisting.

Wispy Since: Feb, 2017
#11571: Aug 15th 2018 at 3:14:22 PM

That was an theory that other people were forwarding.

I didn't believe it would happen. An ending like that would fit the tone of the story but I do recall only Eldians can be effected by the Founding Titans mind bend powers so its not possible.

I half suspect that Eren's endgame is to gather all of the Nine Titan Powers in himself and then seal himself in a crystal forever. But not before destroying the means of creating more Titan serum.

Now I'm wondering what his Titan form would look like with all the powers.

A four-legged, furry, female, armored Colossal with shark teeth, elf ears, and a warhammer?
