I used to watch the channel "China Uncensored" since it focuses on news stories on the Chinese Government's corruption, bullying other nations and companies to make them accept their Pov, their mistreatment of Ethnic and Religious minorities in China and their opposition against anything that recognize Taiwan as an Independent nation.
Now, I will no longer watch the channel or supporting their creators after learning some unpleasant things.
It began when I went to another channel made by creators of China Uncensored called "America Uncovered" which I thought it would be like just their old channel but focuses on American corruption and such. Except it wasn't. America Uncovered promoted Right wing views, was Pro-Trump and dismiss many views by left and moderate news channels like "claiming" the media is overblowing police brutality against Black people. A farcry from China Uncensored that criticze President Xi and his administration.
Curious, I checked who owns C.U. and A.U. and learned they're both owned by a media company with ties to the Falun Gong movement, which explains the channels anti-Ccp views. However, that media company also has ties with other media companies that promote conspiracy theories, alt-right and Pro-Trump views! One of their youtube "news" channel even claim "evidence" that Trump won the election and it was "stolen" from him.
Digusted with their double standards, lies and ties with the Pro-Trump movement, I will stop watching anything to do with China Uncensored.
Sorry for the long rant.
Tldr: China Uncensored are hypocrites and have ties with Pro-Trump, Conspiracy groups and the Alt-Right media groups while secretly promoting those views.

Any channel with "uncensored", "unedited", or something similar in the name is bad news (no pun intended) in my experience.
Used to watch it too, but dropped out a couple years back because the amount of videos released on a regular basis became overwhelming and not all of their videos were that interesting. Good to know this in advance though.
You Tube is suppose to have everything, yet it doesn't have a compilation video of the worst ADR in film.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.ADR is a lot like CGI. If it's good, you barely notice it. If it's bad, it's all you can hear.

It's been 3000 years…Huh, incidentally my brother used to watch CU. And is also absurdly pro-Trump... Y'know, for some reason I'm not surprised that the same company would do something like that.

"Cold and black and infinite, with nothing left to lose."Apparently there are allegations against Pyrocynical claiming he groomed a 15-year old girl some years back?
I think it’s been debunked. It’s just a guy pretending to be him since he used American spellings even though he’s British.
It's been 3000 years…It might not be grooming, just that he sexually roleplayed with someone who didn't disclose their age. That's not good but he also didn't groom him.
Thankfully we don't have another Mini Ladd situation at hand....i hope

Okay, so I don't get it about Falun Gong. Yeah, they're related to CCP because of the organ-harvesting thing. But have they portrayed as good guys to answer the views of CCP as bad guys?
Crazy stupid in battle. Crazy cupid on a nice date. The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily your friend.
Falun Gong doesn't like the CCP, but they're also still extremists with a lot of outreach they use to spread lies, propaganda, and heavily bolstering Trump. Seriously, they adore Trump, and largely a lot of his worst aspects, parroting inane conspiracy theories and blatant lies to undermine Trump's opponents.
... also, they're personally very annoying.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Heh, two evils fighting against each other not knowing they're evil all along.
Crazy stupid in battle. Crazy cupid on a nice date. And here I thought Falun Gong was just a form of meditation that the CCP banned because reasons.
Yeah, Falun Gong are a bunch of far-right hyper-conservative extremists, and there's some alien stuff in there too. They hate the government because, like all right-wingers, they're opposed to communism.
Ukrainian Red CrossArs Technica: GitHub agrees RIAA claim is bunk, restores popular YouTube download tool
The title is mostly self-explanatory. GitHub has agreed with the Electronic Frontier Foundation's legal position and restored the various YouTube-dl repositories. Basically, the EFF showed that the tool doesn't "bypass DRM restrictions" and is therefore permissible under DMCA.
This is an interesting change of heart because the RIAA may well try to sue over it, but GitHub has set up a $1 million fund to protect developers against these types of claims and vowed to change its takedown procedures to include technical as well as legal review.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I swear, it's like they want people to hate them.
I wonder if there's any grounds for someone to sue for this. YouTube is an effective monopoly and this is tantamount to wage theft.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?So if someone makes an apology video but chooses to not monetize it....youtube just can choose to place ads anyway?
That sucks
Uni catAny content creator who can actually afford to start a legal battle with YT won't be hurt by this. And the vulnerable ones will keep making content on YT because there's nowhere else to go. Youtube is doing this because they know they'll get away with it, just like that have everything else.
Oh fuck YouTube up the arse with a rusty chainsaw. If you put ads on a video, the person who made the video is entitled to a share of the income. They are profiting off creators' labour without the people who do the actual work of creating seeing a cent.
YouTube has competition. There's LBRY, Vimeo, Daily Motion, and self-hosting, but YouTube gets to exploit the network effect, so simply leaving YouTube isn't an option unless you're big enough that they'll make special accommodations. Brings to mind how, as the web has become more widespread and is used by more people, it's also gotten smaller.
I expect they'll reverse course within a day or two due to backlash the likes of which they've never seen. Remember when Google tried not to be evil?
Ukrainian Red CrossYeah, that’s a Distinction Without a Difference.
SoundCloudAs if making the creator's share so small that they have to whore out to sponsors wasn't bad enough. If I get back into video-uploading, I might actively advertise ad-blockers if this continues.
Not to rain on this party, but as I understand it this applies only to videos that would not otherwise be monetized, typically because they are too short or because the uploader of the video has not become a YouTube Partner. If the uploader is eligible for monetization already, nothing changes.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
I'm hoping to god that someone on Internet Archive has the whole video collection, because I am NOT gonna participate in their True Art Is Angsty bullshit. I just wanna laugh at shit with my mom.
I can't say goodbye to yesterday…
