She was also the case of Remember the New Guy?. When I first read her, I searched page after page just trying to find publication history on her.
I think she's a character that originated in a What If issue, but don't quote me on that.
I just remember her being hated because Hudlin's run on Black Panther was already divisive and it was an egregious case of Remember the New Guy?. This new comic will probably just crib from the already liked movie version of her.
Really, Shuri got interesting when she died and had the whole journey through the afterlife under Coates.
Apparently they stealth released the new Jessica Jones #1 on just Marvel Digital. That kinda blows but I guess with Bendis gone, they can not bother doing floppies. And maybe it sold better on digital.
Marvel won't stop shooting themselves in the foot, won't they?
Ultimate Secret WarsSo...
Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors got me wondering about something:
Squirrel Girl used to be a mutant, but during the annoying Inhumans pushed, that origin was retconned out.
So...what exactly is she now?
One Strip! One Strip!A human with squirrel genes.
A mutate probably but it doesn't really matter
Except for a gag in Great Lakes Avengers her mutantness was never really relevant and her new origin(s?) is/are funnier anyway
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYeah she's a naturally arising squirrel human hybrid.
It was either the squirrel bite, the cosmic rays in the forest, the experimental nut serum, or the radioactive tree
It was an eventful pregnancy

Forever liveblogging the Avengers“the experimental nut serum“
That is so the title of the Squirrel Girl porno.
"The most educational porno ever written" critics will say. "I learned things about friendship and computer engineering I never would have suspected. Why did this happen?"
Forever liveblogging the AvengersRunaways #11 finally reveals what happened to Klara: Basically she likes being in foster care, lives with two dads who are ready to adopt her, and declines the Runaways’ invitation. There’s also some Leaning on the Fourth Wall about her not really fitting in with the group in the first place.
You're partly right. Hudlin's run, which Shuri debuted in, was supposed to be out of continuity but the sales and success caused Marvel to make it part of the main universe.
So I took a look at Tony Stark: Iron Man #1 on Scans Daily.
It looked pretty fun. Jocasta insta-downloading The Hobbit and then pointing out how it really shouldn't have been three movies, and how they beat Fin Fang Foom were cool, and I think this is the first time Tony has incorporated wings into his armour.
It makes me wonder why there's no Iron Man thread.

One Strip! One Strip!I mean, you can always make your own...
But I don't have nearly enough hookers and blackjack...
...Eh. Why not? I'll give it a shot.
One Strip! One Strip! As long as she's happy and has a nice life, then I am okay with it. I mean her original fate was that she would have been killed in a factory explosion, so I say good for her for having a decent normal life. I know this is supposed to write her out, but we just rarely get people we might have a permanent happy ending.
Chelsea Cain will be doing a Vision mini series

Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, the Daugthers of the Dragon and everybody's favourite hero, Iron fist, are back. Add Daredevil and Punisher, who still have their ongoing titles, and we have all the Netflix heroes back in comics.
Ultimate Secret WarsThe coolest part about that Vision announcement is that it's the full creative team. They even included the letterer. That's something that needs to happen way more than it does.
But yeah, Chelsea Cain, Aud Koch, and Jordie Bellaire, that's a winning team to me. I'll be reading that.
X-Men Black is going to be a set of one-shots about various X-Men villains. Magneto by Claremont and Talajic, Emma by Leah Williams and Bachalo, Juggernaut by Robbie Thompson and Shawn Crystal, Mojo by Scott Aukerman and Nick Bradshaw, Mystique by Seanan Mc Guire and Marco Failla, and each will have part of a back-up of Apocalypse by Zac Thompson, Lonnie Nadler, and Geraldo Borges.
I'll be getting the Emma and Mystique ones.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Another X-Men Color book already?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersEmma and Mystique sound cool.
Mileena Madness
Wasn’t Shuri a tremendous prick?
Before she became wiser & nicer in the spirit realm.
Though yeah it’s funny she’s getting her own comic cause ya know it’s only cause her movie-self who is a radically different character from the comics is the actually popular one.
