^Ok, i think we're getting out of topic. This thread is about How It Should Have Ended series so let's just stick to that.
Well, given the speculative nature of HISHE, it sure could be something they bring up in the future. Hence why I brought it up in the first place: this is how Star Wars COULD have continued.
Optimism is a duty.Plus Infinity War sneak peek.
The villains did a deadpool for who'd die in Infinity War.
Who from the Villain Pub do you think will be erased?
- Palpatine
- Joker
- Zod
- Malekith
- Voldemort
- Deadpool
- Ultron
- Electro
- Khan
- Red Skull
- Hela
- Apocalypse
Definitely half of them.
It's been 3000 yearsβ¦How Infinity War Should Have Ended.

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!Ok.
- Leading Thanos to the wrong planet: As long as he didn't have the mind stone, it's a viable option, but as the video showed, he'd be smart enough to check.
- Taking his arm through a combo of Cloak of Levitation and Sling Ring Portal Cut: No. He'd have stopped that, element of surprise or not.
- Baby Thanos: ...maybe, but I'm pretty sure if Strange could have done that, he would have. Maybe the other stones would have let him resist any attempt to transform him.
- Nebula just clubbing Quill upside the head: Yeah, she really should have done that actually. Then again, considering she was the one who realized what Thanos had done to Gamora, she might have also been too emotional. Hell, if Quill hadn't done it, I could see Gamora doing it instead.
- Wong showing up with the Mirror Dimension: ...might have worked, if he's capable of taking two entire armies there (or just one as we saw) but he said himself that he had to guard the sanctum with Strange gone, and couldn't leave for any reason so...
- Taking the arm: Yeah. It's a nice middle ground between pragmatism and revenge, but Thor was clearly in the heat of the moment so I'll cut him some slack.
Man that was fun. Though I think it kinda dragged near the end. Whatever the case, this was a good one.

One Strip! One Strip!Man Magneto's reaction was real.
Secret SignatureI honestly wouldn't be surprised if Avengers 4 featured Nebula getting her hands on the Infinity Gauntlet, since that's what happened during the original Infinity Gauntlet storyline.
Also, the part where they defeat Thanos by turning him into a baby reminded me a lot of how the heroes defeated Kang in Lego Marvel Superheroes 2. It's practically identical.
-whistle- Ha, so the villains went, the heroes lived, and Loki is the only one alive. :D
I gotta admit I didn't think this one was very funny. I laughed at Strange mentioning there were 5 timelines where they won, at Strange not getting any credit for Dormmamu, Loki being alive, and... that was about it. The Villain Pub section was more cathartic than funny.
(2) Magneto's?

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!His fear I guess? Shock? Compare it to everyone else's reactions and it's slightly more serious.
Secret SignatureFair enough.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Man, I did NOT see baby Thanos coming and especially did not see him getting adopted by Tony Stark afterwards.
Also, Thor chopping Thanos' arm off. THAT seriously is something that should've happened: not only would it have been pragmatic, it would also demonstrate even harder that Thor is mightily pissed off. Chopping your enemy limbs by limbs beats sticking a blade in his chest, after all.
And see, this vid gets me: Doctor Strange's power, especially the portal related ones, is vastly underused in Infinity War. Not that it detracts from the overall quality of the film, but it was something that really bugged me.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. As for taking Thanos's arm off with a portal, I remember seeing a comic where instead of using the cape Strange just makes a portal in front of him before Thanos can punch him and closes before he can react.
No joke, When I saw the movie, I legit thought that HISHE would add in every superhero they've featured to the fighting. Including the DC heroes and the X-Men.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. Itβs gonna ruin his life!Doctor Strange's magic is one of those things that can so easily be a Story-Breaker Power, as we saw in the Thor: Ragnarok HISHE. It's one of those juggling acts that writers have to perform, like how sorcerers always seem to punch each other a lot instead of turning each other into fruit flies or whatever.
Again, I think people forget that HISHE's alternate endings aren't supposed to be taken as actual things that the writers might do in canon, just things that could be done. Obviously they won't beat Thanos in the second act or there'd be no third act climax. But these things often require the writers to ignore powers and abilities previously established in the setting.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Thanos could have used the Reality Gem but never used it, and no, Dr Strange being there doesn't change things, since not using it is the equivalent of not using your assault rifle against a guy with a bulletproof vest and a smaller gun himself.
Thanos could have turned all of the heroes into fruit flies and had no opposition whatsoever. That's the problem you run into when you give anyone ultimate power.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Maybe he couldn't without the Mind Gem.
Power amplifies everything, but doesn't mind kinda unify them together...or was that soul? I can't quite recall.
One Strip! One Strip! My thought on Strange not using his various story-breaking powers is that, well, he's playing the long game. The very long game. As in, he's taking the path that leads to the Infinity Stones being destroyed. Because as long as they exist, Evil Only Needs To Win Once.
Like, I can't fault Star-Lord because Strange clearly threw that fight. Omniscient Morality License is a bitch.
... also, from a Doylist perspective, Time Stone is a total drama killer and they need to get it out of the MCU.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yeah but if you can avoid the long game, why wouldn't you?
EDIT: Unless, perhaps, Strange saw an opportunity to not only thwart Thanos, but to stop the Superhuman Registration Act through letting him briefly win.

Stella ~Part 3 (Atelier Shallie)I mean, if the outcome is better than the short-game? You go long-game.
Thanos getting the Stones and executing the snap was clearly part of Strange's plan. There's a long-game here, the question is whether it's as simple as "in order to undo the snap, we have to allow it to happen" or if it's "in order to destroy the Stones, this has to happen."
Because as long as the Stones exist, they fundamentally threaten the universe. In the past six years, they've been used for... a dozen (?) events that if they weren't thwarted, would have been a planetary extinction event (and two that are universal in proportion). "Hiding them and hoping" is clearly not working.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. You mean that the Sealed Evil in a Can strategy never works in the long term? Man, you'd think people would figure that out eventually.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"
I don't think that's entirely true. Draft concepts for follow-up can provide insight into the creative process behind controversial choices. For instance, that the original intent was to have a follow-up trilogy exploring the hunt for Luke's missing sister, a character that was not Leia, answers the question: "Why would you have your protagonist make out with his secret sister? Why put that in your movie?!"
Was Lucas getting a big ol' thrill out of a secret incest joke? No. At that point in the trilogy's production, Leia was not Luke's sister. That is why that's in the movie.
In the same way, this sequel trilogy idea for microscopic organisms that govern the true Force is really stupid, but it does answer questions as to the mindset behind why Lucas would create the midichlorians in the first place.
Midichlorians are a weird addition because they don't contribute anything to the story. They add nothing. The closest to a follow-up they ever get is Palpatine's story about Darth Plagueis being able to create life, and he could just as easily have said, "He could manipulate the Force to create life." There's literally no reason for midichlorians to be a thing. So why did Lucas add them to the story?
The answer, as we see here, is to be foreshadowing. Much the same as why he added Luke's sister to the story and then hastily concluded it and never did anything with it. The midichlorians are in the film because they set up a plot point that he intended to come back to at a later date and build upon. But then he never did.
