The exemptions are blanket rules. I don't think "it was controversial" is a good enough reason to ignore the exemption.
Katahane... what's the deal with this one?
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Katahane has some pedo stuff in it, which is partially due to the art style, but still. One of the main heroines who has numerous sex scenes looks about ten.
Here, so you know what she looks like.◊ Her lover seems to be about eight~ years older in appearance, though the younger looking girl is significantly older.
^^ Well, no, the rule is 'It gets a pass unless you have a good reason why not.' The question now is whether we have a good reason why not.

According to the Trope page, it has some H scenes.
And that.

How can you tell if a page has been flagged for review? Is there a way on the page, or do you have to check the the thread here? (I should know this, but my ac isn't working and my brain is cooked).

Teacher/Student Romance, Lover and Beloved and Gender Rarity Value have been flagged. Hmmmmm...

Yeah, we really need a <flagged by -insert troper here-> tag for this.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. That tears it. We must mandate adding a reason to flagging requests.
That, too.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. Those are tropes. They're valid concepts, however squicky. Unless the gush needlessly about the whole thing, stop flagging them.
I can see who flags them, guys.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI know the Dance In The Vampire Bund conversation has kind of stalled, but I suggested it for review not knowing it was 16+, as it was sold in my local stores in shrink-wrap, and I'd read about four chapters of the first volume and seen enough of the same nude little girl (who is Really 700 Years Old but that's not a factor here) to think that it might need some reviewing at the least.
I agree that it needs reviewing, but only so that we can get it out of the way. The first couple of chapters/episodes are the worst of it, really. (Which, thankfully, should make it really easy to review here)
Its worth noting that the only people that want to have sex with Mina in her younger body are the vampire elders who are shown to be complete monsters and have eldritch looking true forms.
I'm less concerned about Dance itself, and more about making sure that we make it clear that we stand by the exemption. I mean, if Dance in the Vampire Bund was reviewed and got a devil head, it sends the message "the exemption doesn't matter, the personal feelings of the P5 team does."
At the time I recommended it for review, there was no exemption rule. And I believe the exemption was "recommending anything 13+ or lower is trolling; 16+ better have reasoning". I presented my reasoning.
No one is accusing you of trolling. I'm just saying that from an official standpoint, rather than actually being reviewed, it should be marked for autopass.
As fan of the series I am not going to complain it was bound to happen.
Also do we have a system or procedure for implementing an auto pass?

I wasn't trying to troll when I flagged Otomedius, and while I still don't like it I'm wondering if it needs to be cut at this point, seeing how stuff like Manyu Hikencho is being kept.
It doesn't help that every video game outlet from reviews to comments to Youtube videos has bashed the hell out of it for the fanservicey presentation (although most of them state that the gameplay's supposedly mediocre, they spend most of the time mocking the amount of fanservice). I'd like to see others get research on this and state their opinions, especially if someone had nerves of steel and actually bought the game.
"Pancakes. Oh, I blew it." - Joel Hodgson Nobody better lay a Butterfinger on my 3DS!Wait wait wait.
Manyuu Hikenchou is being kept? I flagged that because it's basically nothing but boobs (and boob gags).
That's quite confusing, but I guess it is mostly a comedy series, looking back on it.

It received three angels and this disposition thingy:
EDIT: Huh, the backslashes didn't make it into the post. Not surprising. Still a problem on the actual list though.

I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn!@Tomu: The rule, as far as I'm aware, is that works that fall under the exemption should not be flagged unless there is a very good reason to do so.
I think that nudity of an (apparent) nine year old would qualify as a good reason for most people. Ratings can't catch everything, and this is probably a case where the P5 needs to personally review the work to make a final call.

Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project! That completely undercuts the entire point of having an exemption.
And, at least as far as the GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS thread is concerned:
We will not accept recommendations to purge anything that meets the following criteria:
Is a film rated below "R" for U.S. distribution.
Is a show that can be aired on prime time television.
Is a video game that is rated below "M" by the ESRB.
Is a written work that is sold in major bookstores without an "adult" or "mature" label. *
Is an anime/manga/etc. that is approved for U.S. import as a non-adult work.
Is read/shown/taught in high school or below.
Is in another format and meets equivalent criteria.
Though, if 16+ is considered "adult" (I'm fine with that explanation BTW) that's fine. But I've been getting very mixed signals by various staff members on whether the exemptions are absolute or not.

Sorry if I sounded a little defensive earlier. I would just not rather get edit-banned for a misunderstanding/over guidelines that didn't exist at the time of the rec.
I went and looked the manga up on Amazon, and it states that it is technically 16+ as released by Seven Seas Entertainment. I can't find a rating for the anime DV Ds released stateside on Amazon. It's up to the P5 if they want to look further into it, honestly, I was just suggesting something I remembered reading and finding a bit distasteful.
Our guidelines are harsher than the rating system.
It was the hypocrisy of releasing strike witches uncensored but censoring dance in the vampire bund.
