There's another idea i have in mind for a subset of Web Video. The ones that use games (especially since the deprecation of the let's play namespace) YT Ps etc, those that mostly or exclusively use pre existing footage. Perhaps a new namespace could work for them

[up] No, we really don't need that, we deprecated Let's Play and Machinima for a reason, we don't need to move a ton of pages a second time.

Using games to make Web Video content isn't a new medium, it's still just Web Video.

Original Character Tournaments are sorta similar to Alternate Reality Game in that they're often collaborative works where the individual parts go through different media.

Since Alternate Reality Game got its own namespace (ARG/), maybe OCT/ would be a good idea?

It's been discussed in a wiki talk thread that Original Character Tournaments are or can be tropeworthy because the creators/members of the tournaments usually make their own characters and narratives via comics, animations, videos, art, or literature. Just as long as they stay within the OCTs premise/setting.

Due to that inconsistency of medium but clear throughline of a (usually) combined setting, I think OCTs getting their own namespace is a decent idea.

[up][up] I'm personally okay with an OCT/ namespace, I don't know where the hell else they'd go

One of the benefits of giving Original Character Tournaments their own namespace would be converting the titles from WebOriginal.TitleOCT to OCT.Title. Which I think would look a lot better.

For example: WebOriginal. The City OCT could just be OCT.The City

Don't most of them do have OTC in the name? I also don't see making titles shorter as a benefit.

[up] Pretty sure that's just for tag purposes on Deviantart, the "OCT" acts like a retronym or suffix in that site itself.

It's still called The City

Personally i am fine either way, but leaning on the side of keep with web original.

Are sports rules tropable? I think they might be so i am proposing Sport/ for Sports

With regards to the Disambig/ suggestion, it sounds like a good last resort option to keep a disambig list off a trope page in the case of overlapping.

Example:

Disambig.Badass could say

That defeats the point of disambigs, though. They need to be in the Main/ namespace since they catch uses — uses that won't exist if they had a different namespace. And people searching for them won't think to search a disambig namespace.

[up] Well, where should we put them in case of gigantic overlap though? In the header of the trope page, the footer, of at the end of the trope description?

IDK what you mean by "gigantic overlap".

[up] I meant like if a trope name has multiple works of the same name

Like for example Space Cadet has a Robert Heinlein novel, an Alternate History timeline, and one of the tables for Full Tilt! Pinball

The trope page has this "disambig list" at the top that looks like this:

For the Robert A. Heinlein novel, see Space Cadet (Heinlein). For the virtual pinball table, see Full Tilt! Pinball. For the science fiction timeline, see Space Cadet (Rvbomally). And for those of you who came here looking for the term's idiomatic meaning, that's a Cloudcuckoolander.

We also do that for work pages if there's any chance of confusion.

[up] So...we just put them in the header?

If necessary, yes. We don't do it for all of them, but if someone wants to add a header they're allowed to.
