I like the juxtaposition of the inspiring words with incoming death. Helps make sure the audience doesn't completely buy into the "con-artistry".

And since I wasn't able to comment during Dragonball, the fight wasn't super great, but I do like the concept that both fighters are so incredibly powerful a single good blow is enough to end the battle. Normally it's punch rushes all the way up.

@ Enlong: Ok, that's where I thought you were going with the Potarra. The manga certainly does veer off in some interesting directions, but that also makes it a bit of a hassle to differentiate which tidbits apply to which canon.

@ Prime: Maybe so, but I get the feeling it's going to be a rare event to see Potarra fusion from here on out (and I doubt we're going to be seeing Fusions in general that much given they're Story-Breaker Powers and Goku and Vegeta generally have issues resorting to that solution).

I think that the use of Potarra Earrings "worked" in the Future Trunks arc only because a) the retcon wasn't made apparent yet (giving the decision to bring Vegito back into the fray the same Godzilla Threshold feeling as in the Buu saga) and b) there were conveniently two Kais in the vicinity who could provide Goku and Vegeta with the required items.

@ Enlong (2nd): I'd say I agree with you there, but the Broly film had Goku work around that due to the... "uniqueness" of the current situation. It'd really depend on what was going on at that particular moment in time.

Regardless, both methods have their own limitations, though I'd personally argue that the Potarra's limitations are marginally "worse" than the Fusion Dance's in an ideal situation.
