The work is put into the namespace of whichever media came first. So, in this case, if it's a book with a film adaptation, it should have been put into Literature/.
Yes, use whichever came first. If the adaptation has enough of its own tropes, it can be split off onto its own page.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Main.Harry Potter is more of a disambiguation page, to be honest, since we have pages for the books, video games and films.
It really should be a Franchise Index.
Rhymes with "Protracted."You can have separate pages for them if there's significant differences.
Fight smart, not fair.Shouldn't the literature page be the main Harry Potter page? I have the same objection to The Simpsons page being disambiguation. They have clear source works.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Yeah, I feel the same way.
Rhymes with "Protracted."The Super Mario Bros, Sonic The Hedgehog and The Legend Of Zelda main pages should perhaps have a VideoGame/ namespace... but how to deal with it... and move the first respective games to a new page...
Sonic I imagine would be easy enough...

I now go by Graf von Tirol.Multi-media franchise pages are generally left in main.
True, true. Perhaps what I mean was that they sure aren't Star Wars or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in terms of multimedia proliferation, but then again...

If there are pages for the video games, then we just leave the Literature/ landing and create a Main/ Franchise Index page, right? It's what was done to Yu Gi Oh, which only has anime, manga, a tabletop card game, and video games. I would think any multimedia franchise ought to have a landing page in Main/.
One Piece blog Beyond the LampshadeYes, this is something I'd like to be clearly defined. As of recently, I've seen many articles of Konami games being moved; and as I said in the Wick Migration page, one of those game franchises yet to be moved, Tokimeki Memorial is a huge one, with several video games, Visual Novels, and anime.
I plan to create in the near future articles for the various items of the series (most notably, Tokimeki Memorial, Tokimeki Memorial 2, Tokimeki Memorial Drama Series, Tokimeki Memorial 2 Substories, and Tokimeki Memorial Only Love), so:
I'd like to know, before someone tries to move the article, if we keep the current article in the regular namespace, and I'll work on moving the wicks to their future relevant articles once they'll be created; or we move the current article to the Video Game namespace, as, while it has several different items, the franchise started as, and is primary a Dating Sim.

The page is migrated to the media that first spawned it. ALL other possible name spaces are added as redirects unless the versions are distinct enough for their own pages.
There have been suggestions of making a franchise namespace. That should be handled in Wiki Talk. I'll make a page for it. This thread should also be in wiki talk. Special efforts is not for asking questions.

Simon And The Oaks is a book as well as a film based of the book.
After seeing the film, I created a works page for it. Put it in the Main namespace, since I felt "Film" or "literature" would be partially inaccurate. I checked Harry Potter for comparision, and it had the main page in the main namespace. Then again, it seem to have it's own namespace for subpages, and Simon And The Oaks is not big enough franchise for that.
Today, someone moved it to the "Film" namespace. I think this move was incorrect, but I may be wrong. So I'm asking here: When a work exist as at least two media types, what namespace does it belong in?
I checked the Namespace page in Administrivia, but saw no clues there.
