I'm pondering whether a Horus Heresy-type event would fit, with 6 of the divisions going traitor, 6 remaining loyal and 1 becoming fanatically loyal.
Time grows thin, the past's a riddle; The Tower awaits you in the middle. It was basically already done in the Soul Society Arc.
Well, it was only 3 captains. I meant 6 divisions, Captains and all.
Time grows thin, the past's a riddle; The Tower awaits you in the middle. Not really just three Captains, though. I mean, they were the ones who turned traitor and had it stick, but you had Divisions 3, 5, and 9 with the traitors (though yes, the whole division didn't go traitor with them), the "pro-Rukia" units of 4, 8, 10, (eventually) 11, and 13, then the loyalists of 1, 2, 6, 7, and 12. Really part of what made that arc so fascinating
I don't regularly watch or read Bleach, but I'm very curious over how fight scenes are portrayed in lengthy Bleach fics.
Does anybody have an example, or a link to a decent Bleach story with extensive fight scenes in it?

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).None that I remember off-hand. Most of the Bleach fics that I read focus on non-fight stuff like character relationships (whether romantic or platonic).
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Anyone know where I can find the violin version of Number One that played when Nozomi pulled that zanpakuto out of her ass?
I am interested in that as well.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!So, has anyone consider a story where someone besides Ichigo receives Rukia's Shingami powers?
As I understand, the method would have worked with anyone, it's just that Ichigo had powers of his own as well that she woke up.
I'm moderately curious about a how a Substitute Shinigami Orihime would go down.
One Strip! One Strip!Someone on Tumblr did something like that.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!I just found out that Quincy Craft had updated again so I read some chapters. After reading several of them, I was...fuming. Has anyone here read it?

I've become a very big fan of a crossover with Fairy Tail called Opening Dangerous Gates, to the point where I made a page for it, Opening Dangerous Gates. I'm surprised no one seems to have visited it yet.
@ Handsome Rob This story does pretty much that situation, but played a little differently. I am also a fan of how the real consequences of having someone fight all your battles come up quickly.
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobI made the trope page for Alabaster Orchestra, but it would be nice to get a second opinion on it. I mean seriously, a trope page made by one person isn't exactly neutral (not even close).
A prince created by the people must retain the people’s friendship, a fairly easy task.I read the fic and contributed to the page. It is an intriguing alternate universe.
I found this okami and bleach cross over. I'm not exactly sure if this post belongs in this particular thread but I found the idea to be interesting. I think the story itself could use some cleaning but id like a second opinion. https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10732676/1/A-god-runs-amuck
This thread is dead and it makes me sad.
So I've just read Saying I Will and am currently reading its sequel. They're by no means perfect but I've been greatly enjoying them.
Also. I've been thinking about Zanpakuto and their abilities when released and got to making one for a theoretical OC because it's something I like to do.
I was thinking of a Zanpakuto that, in its Shikai state, could absorb basically any Kidou and apply it to itself. For example, if you were you imbue it with Hadou #1: Sou, all subsequent strikes (so long as the Hadou remains active and isn't replaced) would have a bit of a knockback effect. Using the Zanpakuto's release command would fire off a somewhat powered up version (more powerful than what the user could cast normally but not insanely powerful. Maybe a 1.25x multiplier. 1.5 at the most).
What do you guys think?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I... can't comprehend how powers work in Bleach, with the Soul Reapers, Substitute Reapers, Fullbrings, Visored, Ceros, Hados, Arrancar, Hogyuku, Quincies, and whatnot. So... I can't be of much help.
It sounds like the Zero power from Needless.

I came here to ask if anyone could recommend a Bleach fic that rewrites the series with a bit more solemnity. Not purely Darker and Edgier, but a little less comedy, a bit more focus on the Soul Society and Ichigo's place in it. Less memetic mutation and such, I don't know if there's an exact trope for it, Bathos maybe?
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I found an AU Bleach quest over on Questionable Questing that actually goes way, way Off the Rails called Spiritual Strawberry. It splits off from the canonical story of Bleach when nine-year-old Ichigo is bullied until he quits the Karate class he joined with Tatsuki and instead joins a Muay Thai class with a foreign instructor. This leads into him and Tatsuki coming across a cult that worships hollows, stealing a tome from them, and eventually gaining hollow powers. Which draws the attention of the Vizards. Things get further and further from canon from there. And Masaki hasn't even died yet (and might not due to butterfly effect).
@Zelenal: That seems like a reasonable ability. Nel had a cero version of that, Cero Doble. It's far from the most unreasonable Shikai ability out there, assuming that's its only ability, and requires that the wielder actually learn kido if they want to take advantage of it (assuming they aren't intending to fight other shinigami).

I love how much utterly fantastic crackfics and crossovers Bleach has. My friends have always said Kubo's fantastic at making characters even if he doesn't always know when to stop or what to do with them, and apparently the fanfic writers have noticed and taken matters into their own hands! :P
but HOW?True. I've even seen some one-shots where the point is to provide a suitable resolution to Rukia and Orihime's Love Triangle problem with Ichigo, and the whole thing is so obviously intended to be comedic since Ichigo complains about how he doesn't get any say in this.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Linkity link?
"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobThanks.
Hehe. That reminds me of a certain chapter in Winter's Heart I read last night. Anyone who's read Wheel of Time will know exactly which one I mean.

Well, I can understand why they'd say that.
