Good. I'd been meaning to get to some of these; I think I may just pick them up.
Surprising news! The Essential Legends Collection audiobooks are back! They’re playing catchup with five of the ELC they skipped, and expect to release audiobooks with print editions again going forward.
- Outbound Flight and Survivor’s Quest, narrated by Marc Thompson, release 12/19/23.
- The Courtship of Princess Leia, narrated by January LaVoy, releases 1/23/24.
- I, Jedi, narrated by Jonathan Davis, also comes out 1/23/24. This one’s a bit sad because Marc Thompson has done the X-Wing Series and Corran Horn’s voice up until now.
- Yoda: Dark Rendezvous, narrated by Marc Thompson, releases 3/12/24. If I had to pick I would have had Jonathan Davis do this one instead. But Thompson has an excellent Yoda voice too.
Looks like they’re leaving off the Republic Commando books for now, which is fine with me. If they get around to them I’ll give them a listen.
That is not at all the impression I had based on the social media posts’ complete lack of information despite multiple comments asking for it on every one.
Just finished up The Eye of Darkness.
Why does part of me suspect that the Nihil are going to get turned into a Disc-One Final Boss in Wave 2 of Phase III and that Azlin Rell is going to become the main villain for the rest of the Phase?
Gahmah's Link Tree: https://linktr.ee/GahmahRaanAt moment I don’t get that impresion. I think that Azlin geniunely wants to help Jedi as horrifiying as his methods are. I could see him becoming Arc Villain or second wave or or one wave 3 books with his mad dedication to make sure planet X isn’t discovered, thought. Still, we are early in phase three and we have eight more books and some comic issues, a lot can happen in that amount of pagetime.

And that's one of the most interesting parts about Azlin. Unlike other Jedi who have fallen to the Dark Side, he still wants to help the Order. However, I get the feeling that he's going to verge on Van Helsing Hate Crimes due to his obsession with the Nameless and the existential threat they pose to Force users in general.
I also get the feeling the Jedi are going to end up committing genocide against the Nameless, and that's what is going to set the stage for the Order's downfall: They broke one of their most important rules in the process of trying to save themselves and others. And the tragedy of it all is despite how dangerous and terrifying they were, the Nameless were only like that because they were displaced from their natural ecosystem by one greedy hyperspace prospector and groups with a grudge against the Jedi.
Gahmah's Link Tree: https://linktr.ee/GahmahRaanI have a headcanon that Marchion Ro keeps the dust of Jedi he personally fed to the Leveler in jars, puts labels with their names on them, and keeps them stored away like a serial killer.

Gahmah's Link Tree: https://linktr.ee/GahmahRaanNext wave of Essential Legends Collection drops February 6.
- Republic Commando: Order 66
- Wraith Squadron 🥳
- Star Wars: Knight Errant (the tie-in novel)
No word on audiobooks, but since they're still playing catch-up (the audios of Outbound Flight and Survivor's Quest release today), hopefully they'll be along soon.

Ah, good old Wraith Squadron. The X-Wing series remains one of my favorite old EU series.
I think I have Knight Errant on my Kindle but haven't read it yet >.>

That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Just noticed that the Mon Cal is wearing an X-wing flight suit; it isn’t Admiral Ackbar. Must be Jesmin. Interesting choice of character for the cover. They could do Kell and Runt next, but Kell takes a backseat after his character arc resolves in the first book.
According to Libby, my library app, the Wraith Squadron audiobook does indeed drop on February 6th, with Marc Thompson narrating, and (spoilers) Iron Fist will be June 4th. No cover art for that one yet.

So John Jackson Miller is writing book which focuses on entire Jedi council from Phantom menace one year before movie.
Sounds cool, and while we did have books in Legends which focus on council members, I think this is first time entire group was focus.
