Well, it is simplified for the sake of the game. However, everything apparently gets harder once they reach Floor 5 (they're still on Floor 3 where I'm at in the story).

Also, seeing Shirou as a swordsmith is oddly satisfying. It's a logical vocation, given that he has Unlimited Blade Works working for him even in the game, but I had just never thought of it before.

I don't know. Currently; Kirito, Shirou, and Argo are exploring the dungeon and trying to find all of the entrances.

Honestly, I could see there being some sort of "system assist" involved to help expedite the process a little, slowly being turned off as people get better. Also, the pain that any person feels is being directly affected by the Nerve Gear, so it's entirely plausible that it could do something like that. I dunno.

Both of those are equally true. However, the NerveGear doesn't interfere with the pain of casting that much.

Lanserker in a Veritech is possibly the most awesome idea I have heard in this forum so far, and with you guys involved, that's saying something.

Different forum but in the context of a Fate-verse crossover with Code Geass the possibility of Lancelot piloting Lancelot was brought up, just as a hypothetical exercise.

And I brought up that gag at least once as well, with the idea of Suzaku as a Berserker-class Servant.

[up]That you did and come to think about I was the one who proposed Suzaku as Berserker in that same conversation. So good point that was amazing as well. That said Lancelot Berserker using a mecha via Knight of Honor is still amazing, especially because there are as many options for him as there are mecha.

I think Spinzaku became Kamen Rider in one of the manga.

So... no surprise here if he's mistaken as one of the Kamen Riders, and then his noble phantasm is summoning Lancelot Albion.

What a dick.

I don't recall Suzaku ever becoming like a Kamen Rider, but I do know that Zero did, somewhat, in the Nightmare Of Nunally spinoff.

I have a snippet here from the prologue for my upcoming Fate/Stay Night crossover; Fate/Convergence Point

Prologue

Smoke that was the first thing he saw when he became aware of his surroundings. Smoke that clogged his vision and watered his eyes momentarily concealing the world from him. A momentary breeze picked up clearing the smoke a bit although Shirou wished that it had not. Fuyuki City looked desolate, buildings were collapsed and much of the rubble was on fire. The smoke began to thicken again and upon investigation he found that his body was quite firmly pinned, he wouldn’t be moving any time soon. It occurred to Shirou that he would die soon, strange that at the moment he couldn’t even muster up the energy to care. Slowly his eyes began to flutter closed. Just as his awareness began to fade however he felt the weight that had been pinning his legs down shift, jarring him slightly. He could hear a man speaking in a deep baritone voice but addled as he was by the smoke he couldn’t understand what he was saying.

Finally opening his eyes he saw the face of his apparent rescuer a priest with thick brown hair obviously damp with sweat. His eyes seemed distant as they looked at him almost as if they were searching for something. Finally his face relaxed in a less tense, almost neutral, expression.

“Boy,” he spoke once more looking down over Shirou, “can you understand me?”

For his part Shirou nodded weakly before responding verbally “Y-yes,”

“Can you tell me your name?” the priest asked.

“Shirou,” the boy stammered out, as much a question as a statement.”Shirou…” He attempted to continue only to find that indeed he could not do so at all. Whoever he was, he only then realized that he could not remember at all.

“I see,” the priest responded thoughtfully, “So you can’t remember your full name.” He stopped for a moment once more regarding the boy he had just saved with a look that Shirou figured would have caused him to squirm had he not been so tired at the moment. He moved his hands first over his chest then over his legs and Shirou swore he saw an odd glow coming from said hands and passing into his body. Suddenly he noted that his head felt clearer and his body no longer seemed to ache as much.

Finally the priest elected to speak once more. “You’re lucky; your wounds were not very severe despite that rubble collapsing on you. As it stands a couple of days rest should be all you need.” The priest paused again, his brow furrowing in thought. “There isn’t too much room left, but I’ve been using the church under my care as a shelter for foundlings like yourself. If you want you can stay there.”

Shirou didn’t know what else to say, the man had saved him and had offered to take him in. Finding his options limited Shirou finally found his voice “Thank you”.

For the first time during their interchange the priest smiled, it was more a small grin really but it was the most emotion that he had shown so far. Shirou felt inclined to do the same. “Can you walk?”

“I think so,” Shirou responded as the man reached out his hand to help him up. Finding his footing Shirou steadied himself and released the priest’s hand. The priest then turned and began to walk at a pace just slow enough that Shirou found he could keep up with it. After a minute’s silence Shirou decided to break the ice. “So what’s your name Mr.?”

“Kirei.” The man responded as they continued their trek across the rubble that had once been a significant section of Fuyuki City “Kirei Kotomine.”

“Do you know what happened here Mr. Kotomine?” Shirou asked looking up at the priest.

“Birth, Death, Restoration, and Rebirth,” Mr. Kotomine responded sounding almost philosophical. Shirou wanted to ask what he meant by that but decided to table the question for later, at least until he felt up to the discussion that might entail. Ten minutes of silence brought them to the Fuyuki City chapel of the Holy Church. Kirei opened the door and Shirou saw across the main room were various children and teenagers. Some were sitting in the pews, others were running about, still others were huddled together in small groups. They all seemed to turn their attention towards the priest when he entered.

“About time you returned father,” a blonde kid probably a few years older than Shirou said without a hint of shame, “These kids could really use your guidance,”

“My apologies for being late,” Kirei responded although the apology sounded more like banter than actual regret “You can rest assured that I will take proper care of them. Thank you for minding things while I was gone.”

“As you say,” the boy responded stuffing his hands in his pockets, “Well, I will entertain myself with a little further exploration for now. Be assured though, we shall meet again,” and with that he walked out of the room.

Shirou was about to inquire about the strange boy when Kirei spoke up again. “Alright children, now I’ve arranged for temporary bedding for all of you, follow me and I’ll show you where I set it up.” His voice rang with an odd sense of command and Shirou found himself following the man along with the rest of the crowd.

“None of you need worry.” The priest continued. “The church will ensure that your lives continue and reach their full potential.”

First, the title is spelled "Fate/stay night". Second, and most importantly, what are you crossing it over with?

[up]x3 Suzaku's apparent ancestor Renya and Suzaku himself are superhuman. Though Suzaku doesn't have an arm that sucks the lifeforce out of people so that he can continue to live like Renya.

Sorry I'm late getting back to you guys.

First of all I will admit I feel a bit silly announcing the crossover aspect of this story without actually demonstrating the crossover aspect in the snippet I gave you guys. Its just I had that first scene done and wanted to preview it.

Second, it is part of a larger massive multiplayer crossover verse that I am working on constructing, including an League of Extraordinary Gentlemen style team of anime characters I'm working on making.

Third, I will now elaborate as I should have sooner. The easiest way for me to approach this is by the fandoms the Masters come from:

1. Shirou Kotomine (Fate/stay night Canon} Kirei Kotomine's adoptive son and aprentice. Trained in both Magecraft, Bajiquan, and the techniques of an executor Shirou enters the war without a wish of his own and is thus initially teamed with Rin Tohsaka. His servant is Rider (Lancelot)

2. Rin Tohsaka (Fate/Stay Night Canon) With a few minor additions she is pretty much the same person as she was in the canon and plans to continue her father's dream. Her Servant is Archer (Jimmu Tenno)

3. Kyoko Sakura (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) In this universe was taken under Ciel's wing (I can elaborate but it'll take a while) after her father flipped out and has been assigned to the Grail War to wish away the Dead Apostles. Her servant is Saber (St George the Dragon Slayer)

4. Bazett Fraga Mc Remitz (Fate/hollow ataraxia) She came to the war to meet Cu Cullain asand succeeded in summoning her idol. She naturally wants to wish for him to have a second chance at life. Her servant needless to say is Lancer (Cu Cullain)

5. Precia Tesstarossa (Lyrical Nanoha) She discovered the Grail War when investigating the Magic of Earth. It was a godsend from her perspective. Using the grail she could resurrect Alicia in a single wish. Her servant is Assassin (Seramis)

6. Fate Tesstarossa (Lyrical Nanoha) Her mother assigned her to retrieve the grail and she has promised to do it. She believes her mother will be able to mellow out once she gets her wish. Her servant by cheating the system is Avenger (Medusa)

7. Julius von Einzbern (OC) A member of the Einzbern Family assigned to the grail war. He takes the place of Ilya who was not born in this continuity. His servant is Berserker (Herakles)

8. Zouken Matou Having lost his pawns in the previous war but gained an immortal form during the last ten years, Zouken has the confidence to seek even greater power. His servant is Caster (Nero, not the Fate/Extra version)

There is Julius B. Harwey from Fate/Extra and is the kids older brother so yeah, he exists.

Although I'm not sure how he would end up representing the Einzberns in this situation.

Hired assassin, most likely. Compare Kerry.

We don't know the status of the Harways in "normal canon" but this is a fanfic. Fanfic something.

In their equivalent of Fate Zero they recruited Natalia Kaminski to be their master (Kiritsugu became a magus because his father pursued the Grand Panacea through use of Alchemy ala Baccano rather than the time-distortion method that ties into the nature of Dead Apostles.).

I was thinking that as in canon they'd be reluctant to use a freelance assassin again after their failure last time. Although if they did, Kairi Shishigou, would be my first choice for that role. He's pretty kick butt guy who follows his jobs through to the end so long as he gets paid.

Although now that I've looked him up, using a variation of Julian Ainsworth being recruited by the Einzberns could make for an interesting hidden-agenda villain, at least it is worth considering.

I will of course end up making a choice but I would appreciate any additional input.
