I see this alot

I know we're not supposed to post fridges as tropes, but should we pothole it in things like this or merge the explanation into the trope or just kill it?

Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?

My gut instinct: if it makes you roll your eyes, cut it; if not, merge it into the bullet point above.

We call that a Justifying Edit and it is Kill On Sight. Don't even bother to roll it into the entry, just Natterfy the person who typed it. In the very rare case where actual evidence is presented that's other than someone's fanwank, you might apply Repair Dont Respond, but usually there's no point.

There should never be any wicks to Fridge anything on main articles, period.

I'm only toying with hypothetical examples at this point, but what if the work features a fridge that is tightly related to its usage of a trope? That way, the trope entry will practically invite fridge references. We can avoid it, sure, but on paper it can unfairly make the work seem better/worse that it actually is.

Tropes Are Tools. The fact that a trope occurs or appears to occur does not invoke a value judgement. If a trope is a value judgement, then it goes on YMMV. Fridge Logic / Brilliance / Horror is inherently subjective and invites natter. That's why we have subpages for it.

Ah, I get it. So rather then trying to justify something by mentioning (genuine) fridge tropes, we should purge the value judgement that necessitates us to try to justify it in the first place?

What about something like "see fridge page" or something similar?

If a particular example is subject to a lot of back and forth wrangling, then you may want to add a comment (with the %% markup) directing people to the Fridge page if they try to edit it. Putting notifications in the visible page text looks like Wiki Schizophrenia.

And honestly, if something causes that much trouble, put a note on Ask The Tropers so we can look at it and see if moderator action is warranted. Objective tropes shouldn't trigger edit wars.

Does Fridge Brilliance go onto the Frdge tab? I did this operation for a Fridge Brilliance example but I am not sure if it's the right thing to dojust bugs me

[up] Yes. All Fridges must stick together. No cold shoulders, please.

Bad puns aside, yeah, stick anything like Fridge Horror, Fridge Brilliance, and Fridge Logic on the Fridgety Tab.

[up][up] What if there's only one or two "fridge" entries for a particular work, would a fridge namespace still need to be created for them, or would they belong in YMMV?

Also, do the mods have any program that could automatically move any entry with Fridge Horror, Fridge Logic, or Fridge Brilliance in it to the fridge namespace?

No.

I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.

[up][up] Make the Subpage regardless.

Everything goes on its correct subpage. Why would we not do it? It either goes on the subpage, or does not go any other page. If it can't be removed, it goes to the correct spot.

I'm pretty sure we don't have a space problem at this time. Any Mod can correct me on this, though.

There is not a hard drive space problem on the server that I know of, no. Either put it in the right place or don't add it at all. Putting it on YMMV encourages bad behavior.

The only problem I have is that generally speaking Fridge Logic can fit better on the Headscratchers tab. Although maybe that's tropers' faults for phrasing it as a question.

[up] Not according to the trope. You can use it in either version.

I think the difference is that when using it as a question, you're asking it in a Headscratchers way. When you make it as a statement(as hard as that is to do), it belongs on the Fridge page.

To be honest, I would like a rename that makes it non-Fridge-based myself.

This is Fridge Logic though, but it's also the polar opposite of Fridge Brilliance, making it too much of a cold trope. Puns aside, it's really hard to work with.

Headscratchers in theory is about fridge logic, but it is also generally used as a mini-forum where there is a discussion on plot points and things that might not have been clear.

If it's unquestionably Fridge Logic, then it should probably go under the Fridge/ tab.
