Long ago, an ancient superweapon, capable of shaping worlds, changing the laws of physics, and even influencing life and death, was lost. It was another casualty of a world-shattering war, that saw the deployment of indescribable horrors and carnage on a galactic scale. Its name was Sifuri, and, as the ashes settled on the remains of cities and combatants, it was decided that some things were best forgotten, and Sifuri faded from memory as its creators set about rebuilding and reconstuituting all that had turned to ashes. For billions of years, Sifuri lay abandoned and alone on a distant world, safely out of the ands of its creators and never to be used again.
But now, things are beginning to change. The embers of war are begining to stir. A powerful force looms on the horizon, and Sifuri may be all that stands between it and the destruction of its creators. Two criminals, seeking to atone for their misdeeds, assemble two competing teams- one based around the supernatural, the the other around the scientific- to recover the artefact. It will be a long and perilous quest across the multiverse to recover Sifuri... but will the forces of magic or science prevail?

Hello once more, and welcome to the signup thread for A Game Of Gods: Taskforce Sifuri. Now, the first thing that you're probably wondering is why exactly we need another spinoff. The answer is that this was initially going to be a plot in the current Infinities game, but due to my worry that the mini-epic would would take too long, I decided to spin it off into its own game. That said, this game is extremely close to Infinities, moreso than TOTG was to the original AGOG. Because of that, there will be several crossovers between the two. Besides that, all the same rules in AGOG, and general RPing etiquette should apply.

Naturally, the biggest 'gimmick', so to speak, of this RP is the fact that characters who have science-based powers are pitted against those who have magic based powers. I'm really hoping for even teams for this, so if we have too many people on one side than some people may be given control of a second character for the opposite team. Characters who use both magic and science, such as Magitek, will be admitted on a case-by-case basis.

Posting here until Magic spots open/the Avatar challenge ends/Yog-Sothoth devours the stars. Sorry, Mustrum.
- Name: Iroh
- Universe: Avatar The Last Airbender
- Appearance: The bottom one.◊
- Background: Former Crown Prince of the Fire Nation, Iroh was its greatest general, known as the "Dragon of the West", the first to break through the impenetrable wall of Ba Sing Se and killing the last of the dragons. However, his entire outlook on life changed after the death of his son on the frontlines, and he gave up the siege and returned to the Fire Nation in disgrace. Since then, he has taken a background role in political events, making no claim to the throne and accompanying his nephew Zuko in the search for the Avatar, a search he is less than enthusiastic about as it goes against the ideal of the four nations living in harmony.
- Powers: Iroh is a master firebender and lightningbender, able to channel lightning strikes through his body to redirect them elsewhere and breathe fire. He is also an adept physical combatant, being able to escape a heavily-guarded prison by himself despite a complete lack of bending powers. His firebending is enhanced by certain celestial phenomena, such as blasting through the wall of Ba Sing Se, a feat that took his younger self an army and almost two years to achieve. He is able to see creatures that belong to the Spirit World, and also plays the horn quite well and is a master strategist.
- Personality: Iroh is laid-back and easygoing, happy to share his wisdom and love of tea with those younger than himself. However, when the situation calls for it or sufficiently riled up he will demonstrate exactly how he earned his title of "Dragon of the West". He has a talent for charming the socks off crotchety old women.

I don't intend to bring him in until the challenge is over, so don't worry about finding things to do on his account.

Yeah, but I realized he requires, at minimum, the Bursar/Stibbons and the Dean to function at normal capacity. Otherwise we'd just get shouting matches with NP Cs all day.

The other one was Iroh. Unfortunately I had my plans for Elsa laid out. Iroh's character needed an extended length time to puzzle out so I went with Elsa. Iroh could wait till another time. Perhaps Season 3, or another RP.

I love iroh but imo it needs a lot of wisdom to play him effectively. He is the best mentor character in western animation at least.Looking forward to it too for sure.

Ah, I assume that she's taken by Reiken? I just sort of automatically assume any mention of Mistral these days is talkig about the Metal Gear one. Oh well, I'll think of someone. Maybe someone from Jojos Bizarre Adventure

She's still in her digital avatar and literally, so nothing about her is 'actually' magical here but a projection of science into the real world.
I based it loosely on Project X Zone.
My Mistral is before Legend of the Twilight Bracelet but it'll be a fun bit of confusion.

that's pretty much what i did with any .hack character i played in different rp's
i was about to say DIO BRANOD but one peek at the discussion thread and he's already taken
then again it is way too early for me to be considering such big character things, so this may take forever and a day

If you do take another Dot Hack character, we should probably talk a short bit about keeping conventions consistent. Although if you did take Mirelle, or someone else from a future version of The World, inconsistencies would be due to the updated software Mirelle came from. Mistral can't taste food, for example.
