NHK’s official Sailor Moon poll is over. Sailor Uranus ranked #1, while Sailor Moon came in 2nd. Minako and Seiya also made it into the Top 5.
I'm not sure splitting the Senshi and their civilian identities made a lot of sense, but okay. I'm amused how low Mamoru always scores on these polls but not surprised.
Oissu!Miracle romance indeed.
The girls are really thirsting on Uranus.
Where there's life, there's hope. There sure have been a lot of pictures of Sailor Saturn on Facebook lately.
I like to keep my audience riveted. Why did Usagi sound like an old lady?
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Linda Ballentyne was told to imitate the previous voice actress, which she just couldn't do with her deep voice. There are times when she sounds good in the dramatic moments but as I said before, she was a victim of miscasting and poor voice direction.

Speaking of which, I have a digital copy of the Sailor Moon Reflections book by Roland Parliament and it had some very interesting information regarding the first dub.
He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Sailor Moon Eternal drops June 3rd on Netflix.

I think it captures the good mood and enthusiasm the good news brings.
I like to keep my audience riveted. One could say you're over the moon about this!

It sounds like most of the Viz cast is returning for the dub. I think the only main ones who haven't Tweeted confirmation are Kate Higgins, Christine Marie Cabanos and Michelle Ruff. Erika Ishii is also back as JunJun.

Not to mention Helios's voice might have sounded a little different this time around, given the fact that his previous actor Chris Niosi took a break from voice acting back in 2019.

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Uhhhh…didn't he get #MeToo'd around that time?
To be fair, Chris did admit his abuse in July 2019, around the same time he breached that NDA regarding Fire Emblem: Three Houses, the latter of which led to his replacement; he's been working on himself ever since. Some of his other roles were recast in the aftermath of what happened.
Given that, I wonder who will now voice Helios?

He/His/Him. No matter who you are, always Be Yourself.Wait, he's still finding work? I actually didn't know that…
Kinda thought if you got #MeToo'd, your career was pretty much over forever and ever…
Or to put it in anime terms, your career was pretty much obliterated like when Beerus hakai'd Zamasu. (Yeah, wrong anime, but you see where I'm going with this?)
Or when Sailor Galaxia points at a planet.
Watch SymphogearI'm surprised too.
Maybe the fact that he admitted it and has been working to stop helped.
Like, I don't think Chris has been in the business that long, so it may be that he hasn't wracked up the numerous offences that others have, combined with him being straight about it and then working to rehab himself, he managed to earn back some good will.
....that or he's getting special treatment due to sexism/racism/whatever other negative reason there is.
Without more information, it's impossible to tell, so I'm gonna take a wait and see attitude.
One Strip! One Strip!I've seen all the advertising for the new movies popping up recently. But honestly, I just cannot bring myself to watch them. I already found the first three arcs an utter chore to sit through, and I'm fully expecting to see more of the same lackluster effort from Toei.
Namely paper-thin characters, boring/interchangable antagonists, rushed narratives riddled with sloppy writing, and the Inner Senshi reduced to glorified accessories who exist purely to prop up other characters. Ultimately just coasting by heavily on nostalgia and superficial fanservice.
I'm sorry, but it's going to take significantly more then just changing the name and using slightly prettier animation to redeem this trainwreck in my eyes. I've been very open-minded and patient with it, but they just haven't been making the effort.
