What colour is car bodywork under the paint? I imagine her natural hair colour is that.

That is a good lesson to learn.
I mean, that is not really a rule, is it? I mean, it is a situation to avoid, but I don't think there are any law or regulations against teaching your family or friends.
I can't speak for how it works in the US, but where I live, each university does considers this differently. Mine allows it, but others would forbid it as, like Roz says, it's a massive conflict of interest that can lead to favoritism and other nasties.
