Welcome to the main discussion thread for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! I'm editing this OP and pinning it to establish some basic guidelines. All of the Media Forum rules still apply.
- This thread is for talking about the live-action films, TV shows, animated works, and related content that use the Marvel brand, currently owned by Disney.
- While mild digressions are okay, discussion of the comic books should go in this thread. Extended digressions may be thumped as off-topic.
- Spoilers for new releases should not be discussed for at least two weeks. Rather, each title should have a dedicated thread where that sort of conversation is held. We can mention new releases in a general sense, but please be courteous to people who don't want to be spoiled.

I remember most people wanted him to play Doctor Doom.
I'd rather have an actor of actual Romani descent play Doctor Doom.
Bite my shiny metal ass.Any suggestions?
The very first thing they need for Doom is an actor who doesn't mind having their face obscured by a mask 90% of the time.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I don't really know why he was such a popular choice for Doom.
Most of the roles I've seen him in have him be soft-spoken and calm while Doom is the very exact opposite of that.

This song needs more love.
while Doom is the very exact opposite of that.
A reminder:
This is now by far one of the at least top 10 favorite MCU original soundtracks for me:
Yeah, the soundtrack of Ant-man is pretty great.
Hey, if Nicolas Cage played the role, why not.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I wish they used MCU villains more than once before killing them off. I know there are exceptions, but fir the most part villains die in the movie they're introduced in, which kind of removes the potential for then to be used in the future. The biggest example j can think of is killing off Klaue in Black Panther. Andy Serkis was amazing in the role and it would have been great to see him in more movies, so it was dissapointing the way they killed him
Klaue was used more than once
Still, I understand the thought process. Each hero gets three movies and maybe teamup movies
Most heroes have a varied and interesting rogues gallery. Why piddle around with the same guy when you only get three goes?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI'm kind of hoping Dormammu takes Kaecilliu's form to act when he comes back, since the general implication of the film is that Dormammu has no fixed form of his own (and hence why he's played by Benedict Cumberbatch and vaguely resembles him: Dormammu took Strange's form when he came to his realm). So Mads gets to play a genuine threat.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I love this idea...but it would be odd to have him in the second movie. That is more something I expect for Doctor Strange's grand finale, to face his first foe again.
Wasn't he more humanoid in the comics?
If Nightmare does feature in Strange 2 then it's not a stretch to see him taking on Kaecilius' form briefly.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."Here’s a thought. Bats the talking ghost dog should be in the movies
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWishing Cosmo the best.
Self-serious autistic metalhead who goes by any pronouns. (avvie template source)God, I want that Spider-Man / Dr. Strange crossover.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Me, too. I want Tom Holland Spider-Man to geek out of Bats the Ghost Dog (voiced by, uh, Chris Pine).
Kaecillius being woefully undercooked gets bonus negative points for wasting Mads Mikkelsen ;p
