Have it be that because the Digimon are digital representations of many of the same demons and gods from SMT that they are able to look and act different.

Hell, have it be that the capital G god from Digimon (portrayed a white silhouette) and Stephen from SMT actually be the same guy.

Here's something to consider - in Tamers, Digimon are said to be created from the thoughts of children.

What the hell type of kid dreams up the likes of Orochimon?

Slimcoder and omega - fair enough on your reasons for disliking the epilogue. To be honest, I always kind of found if rather harmless. Some of the career choices made some kind of sense to me (Ken becoming a cop as he's The Atoner, Kari's friendly and motherly nature made her a good fit as a teacher and Cody's sense of right and wrong worked well as a lawyer). The rest I can just chalk up to people change over time.

@Demongodofchaos 2: Bagramons description easily makes him an Ecpy of SMT Lucifer too! Not the anime incarnation he's generically evil bad guy but his Manga version definitely.

Meanining the fathers for each of them are completely fucking random. Who knows which is which, it’s like baby-daddy roulette.

Slimcoder basically encapsulated my thoughts on why the Adventure 02 epilogue is terrible. One funny thing I've always noticed though is its similarity to Harry Potters epilogue which I also happen to dislike for the very same reasons.

Kind of odd considering we already have Lucemon, whose Falldown Mode strongly resembles some incarnations of SMT Lucifer.

Lucemon is Paradise Lost Lucifer which is like, none of SMT Lucy except for I Vs where the book is even mentioned by a character.

But I Vs Lucifer is half of Satan to show how far off it is from the original.

Hell, the masked Angel designs from SMT are very similar to how the various versions of Angemon are masked and dressed rather skanitly clad by angel standards.

Hell, the original story that SMT was based on was called DIGITAL Devil Story.

I wonder if it was always meant to be closer to SMT than Pokemon (despite the name). For years, it was the darker of the two franchises and kinda still is, even with some of the lighter stories.

Its just that SMT hasnt really gotten all that popular out of Japan. Sure Persona is a success and its gotten out of the rut but still.

"Always" is a tricky word to use. Like, Digimon started out as a Tamagotchi-esque virtual pet. It's unlikely that anything SMT-like was planned at that point.

The character designs for the monsters were inspired by 90's western comics more then anything.

Its more recent stuff like the digimon story series that have become more SMT like.

Heh the SMT games are some dark shit right?

Well bring on the black & grime, I really want to see some really dark shit here.

Characters getting traumatized, mutilated, just general chaos & insanity.

We now know the names and the roles for two of the kids. The partner to Labramon is Aoi Shibuya. She is an older student who is in charge of cooking and security. The partner for Falcomon is Minoru Hyuga. He is a fellow classmates to the protagonist. He hates arguments, and has a calm personality but can make crazy decisions.

I think I can identify based on my own experiences with these kinds of games who is going cause 60% to 85% of the bad endings.

So, how do you think an hypothetical Bancho Greymon would look like? Just thought back on Savers and it looked like something like that would fit Masaru better. What do you think?

I've heard some people compare Taiora to Zutara. Could the former be considered the spiritual predecessor to the latter?

How are they alike?

Mainly that they're ships with rabid fandoms that only became more rabid due to canon.

No. That's a very broad read, and one entirely reliant on fan reaction at that. You shouldn't need to stretch a trope nearly that far to force it to fit something.

Second, Famitsu has revealed new info for Digimon Survive. The game is currently at 30% completion. It would would have three routes, with a bonus route being under consideration. There will be 100 playable Digimon with extras. They were chosen based on the world's atmosphere. A new Story game is being made, with Survive being released in the meantime, and they hope it becomes a third series. They hope to continue making Videogame original Digimon.
