Redirect Farming: looking for another word for:: Tsundere

We just need a word or combo in English that describes this trope. Could be used for a redirect, could be used for another article altogether, one that is more about the trope than the name of the trope.

Mercurial Lover is a candidate. Have any others?

Punchy Love, Oranyan, and Hot And Cold are currently redirects. I think they're all unclear, so Mercurial Lover is good redirect.

Redirect, not rename. The name is working, so it doesn't need a rename.

So long as whether it's renamed, the new name used as a supertrope, or just added as a redirect is decided by vote, I don't care.

Mercurial Lover is far too broad. That sounds like a redirect to Manic Pixie Dream Girl, or a subtrope of Cloud Cuckoolander just as much. Mercurial means that a character is unpredictable. There's nothing about the word that indicates that the character swaps between two very predicable states.

Tsundere Archetype, perhaps? Mercurial Lover kinda gives the implication that all characters of this archetype are in love with their target(s), when there are those who only have platonic feelings for them at best.

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.

Well, Oranyan definitely wouldn't be used; that's also Japanese, and used much less frequently than Tsundere.

I'm a little surprised that Punchy Love is a redirect; the trope is about the character, not the emotion.

Wow. I thought I had a pretty good understanding of what this trope was, but then I looked at the description.

Is all that really necessary? Really, looking over it it looks like it describes a family of tropes rather than a coherent concept. At the very least "Type A" and "Type B" seem pretty different.

Yeah, most of that wall of text can probably be moved to the Analysis tab.

This is a simple trope, it just has lots of minor variations.

Anybody mind if I take pretty much everything under the paragraph about type B to Analysis?

really a discussion on this should go on the Headlines too, it is at least as established as the late, beloved, Nakama.

I see no reason why Hot And Cold Lover can't be the title. I have yet to see any description of the trope that does not boil down to that concept. The "Lover" part is needed to keep people from mistaking Hot And Cold for some kind of Elemental Powers.

[up][up] This is currently just redirect farming. That doesn't generally have a huge wiki impact.

[up] I like Hot And Cold Lover. That sums up the core of the trope. The problem is, the Lover part isn't actually required.

Indeed, this is a personality type independent of their relationships with other characters.

Can we use the term "bipolar" somehow?

Bipolar is when a person has mood-swings between maniac and depressive.

Tsundere is when a person is aggressive in some situations and love-struck in another. Therefore, bipolar doesn't work.

I think an article about it that doesn't require Japanese would be useful. Something, as said earlier, that is about the trope more than about the name of the trope.
