I heard yesterday it was a sequel.
Not sure if want...
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.Honestly, I don't mind. Sometimes I think remakes are a stupid idea, but in this case, I'd say Army of Darkness closed the book(ha ha ha) on things more than satisfactorily.
And to be honest, while I love the original, I think there's room for improvement, and the people involved with the series seem to think so too.
Oh, wait, wasn't I supposed to whine that those involved are monsters for not putting out a fourth film and choosing to instead rape the classics?
What makes me tentative is that we haven't gotten any confirmation on whether or not Bruce Campbell will be in it. I trust him and Sam Raimi to get good talent, but Evil Dead without Ash is...well, it's hardly Evil Dead at all. And if Ash is in it, and someone else is playing him, uh. That'd be like getting someone else to play Freddy Krueger. Still, it's early days, so we'll see.
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.Rorschach was a pretty good Freddy Krueger.
Diablo Cody is the script writer? I'm definitely a little worried.

I seem to recall that Bruce said Ash was his definitive character and that he wouldn't let somebody else play him in a film. That was a while ago, but given that he's producing this movie, it probably still stands.
And now that I think about it, I recall that he said he would take a cameo.
I didn't like Jennifer's Body but it's obvious she's a big horror fan and knows that she can't mess this one up or people will hate her forever.

Diablo Cody is a no-talent hack. While they're at it, they could get Laeta Kalogridis to create a Shyamalan-esque twist that you can see coming a mile away like she did with Shutter Island.
And Sam Raimi isn't invincible. He produced Boogeyman and Legend of the Seeker.

WHY
This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?Diablo Cody
where i stopped caring
This will suck.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.How it will probably be like:
A bunch of hipsters go to a cabin by a Minnesota lake where the Book of the Dead is a bunch of made-up slang. The film's Ash (possibly an Author Avatar of Cody) manages to defeat the zombies by a pole dance accompanied by a hipster song featuring more made-up slang.

More Buscemi at http://forum.reelsociety.com/add the fact you will see the monster
since the first movie's clever ingenuity is never ever showing the monster
This level of trolling is reasonable for Commander Obvious. What do you think of this, everyone?I ain't crying ruined yet. I have hope for this. If Campbell is producing, it should be good.
... Never cared for the series.
your loss.

Hmmmm, On the one hand Diablo Cody is writing it. On the other hand the guys responsible for the first one are heading it.
I'm on the So Bad, It's Good side of things.
(V)(;,,;)(V)If Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are involved, then I'm hopeful. Those two couldn't screw it up too badly... could they?
Nil, a new sci-fi/horror story that you should read and review! (Updated 4/something) ''The gate opens. If the script writer totally shits the bed on the script, I'm sure Bruce will smack em about and tell em to write it again, only better.
I'd have to agree with that. He did say that the script to Bruce vs. Frankenstein was weak and he wanted it redone.
With, of course, his chin.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpNoh: obviously. A mere slap or punch won't nearly get the point of the writer failing Bruce across nearly as well as a chin-to-the-head.
Some plot details:
The group in the remake goes to the cabin to help the remake's equivalent of Cheryl try to kick her drug addiction. While they're there, they find the Book of the Dead and decipher it(somehow), and unleash demons and all that jazz, and don't realize the aforementioned drug addict is possessed, as without her drugs she behaves violently.
...though I assume that she may start hovering and give away the fact that it's something else.
So they are doing a loose remake of Brain Damage disguised as an Evil Dead remake?

A remake of the classic horror film is coming.
The guy who directed the "robots smashing things" short film Panic Attack! is directing the film.
Diablo Cody is rewriting his script.
And Lionsgate is distributing the film.
With Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell producing, how bad could it be?
(Please don't give me the answer I don't want to hear.)
