Hmm...
I think with all of Mewtwo's scaling this is a surprisingly even fight but I'm inclined to give it to Diavolo since he has an edge Giovanni doesn't- Mewtwo has to be given orders to fight, while Diavolo controls King Crimson and its powers directly.
Granted, I'm not sure how psychic powers interact with King Crimson's erased time- part of why it's so potent is because a lot of the attacks Diavolo avoids with it are things he can avoid- but after the fact Giovanni's orders will have been lost to skipped time and it'll be as if he never issued a command to Mewtwo at all.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaGood point, Diavolo might be able to get the drop on Mewtwo using the timeskip, but the question is if he could do any meaningful damage. King Crimson can donut people like no business, but Mewtwo can take a lot heavier hits and can use Recover to heal himself.
Giovanni would be different, but Diavolo would have to keep fending off Mewtwo (or whatever other Pokemon we'd give him) long enough to get within distance.
Is this another part of pony friendship? Telling each other what you learned all the time?If you consider the manga, Mewtwo was double donuted by a much more powerful foe than King Crimson◊, so I think Giovanni wins (or Mewtwo, anyway) just by virtue of Diavolo having no kill confirm for him. Plus, nothing' really stopping Mewtwo from mindwiping off the bat before Diavolo even does anything.
Now, if Giovanni isn't given Mewtwo, that's a whole other fight altogether.
Well, we can argue if he could win with a different team. What do we give him?
- In Red/Blue/Yellow's gym battle, he's got Dugtrio, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Kangaskhan, Rhydon, and Rhyhorn(Red/Blue) or Persian(In Yellow)
- Heartgold and Soulsilver has Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Kangaskhan, and Honchkrow.
- Black/White 2 has Rhyperior, Golem, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Marowak, and Sandslash.
- In Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, aside from Mewtwo, he's got Dugtrio, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, and Rhyperior.
- In the anime, he has Persian, and we know that he lent Jessie a Kingler, Machamp, and Rhydon.
- In the Adventures Manga, he has Beedrill (his signature one that can Mega Evolve), Cloyster, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Golem, Dugtrio, Rhyhorn, Rhydon, Crobat, and Aggron.
If we're excluding Mewtwo, I'd say Rhyperior, Persian, Beedrill, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, and Kangaskhan if we want to get a good balance between all the continuities and a little variety. If Death Battle was to actually do this battle, they might substitute Beedrill for Dugtrio if they're not gonna composite.

Is this another part of pony friendship? Telling each other what you learned all the time?I feel like Dugtrio has the best shot out of the non-Mewtwo Pokemon since it can essentially make itself invisible by burrowing underground and then trap him in a fissure.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.Counterpoint, by using just Epitaph (so no skipping time, just the Required Secondary Power of clairvoyance that comes with it) Doppio was able to stall out against a Stand user that could make himself invisible and also attack by creating razor blades, needles, etc. from within your bloodstream.
Doppio didn't necessarily win that fight since he was just stalling until an opportunity presented itself for Diavolo to use King Crimson proper, but Epitaph alone gives enough of an edge that the element of surprise doesn't work on King Crimson's user.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaI realized how weak of a Verse Jojo really is, even it’s God-Tiers are only Tier 8.
So Jojo is the Weak, but Skilled Shonen?

Not really, the Hax in Jojo overides the strength gap.
Watch SymphogearGiovanni just keeps ordering his team to spam Earthquake in order to kill Diavolo.

Winner: Lucina wins with 66% of the vote.
Next time Shantae vs Shovel Knight.
Yeah, in terms of stats, the best thing Jojo has going for it is pretty much everyone is FTL. Outside of that, it's mainly the haxy stuff tehir stands can do.
I highly doubt this.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Explicitly not, in fact. Some Stands are incredibly fast, but the ones that are actually FTL are limited to just one if you dont count time stop. Three if you do. Remember, faster than a person can see or react =/= FTL.

I'm just gonna link this blog talking about it, but FTL stuff in Jojo is very consistent and scales to a lot of its characters.
"vsbattles.fandom.com"
And with that, sir, I bid you good day.

TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Oh yeah, that place has plenty of stuff I disagree with, especially when it comes to the downplay of comics, but where it's posted has nothing to do with the actual stuff the blog shows.
Any thoughts on who will fight Beerus?
Batman
New theme music also a boxAnd if we then scale Giorno to, say, Polnareff via Diavolo or Koichi, apparently Ciocolatta the human can take a seven page barrage of FTL punches without disintegrating. Furthermore, if we somehow manage to scale Mista or Narancia any of them, then any of the folks they ever shot can tank FTL bullets like they were normal human bullets (additionally, the bullets in Jo Jo universe would have to be made out of a material that can survive being kicked around at FTL speeds). In conclusion, characters that the author pretty clearly intended to be normal humans who can physically manifest a single superpower could probably tank a few punches from the likes of Goku.
It's kinda hilarious really.
FTL Jojo does seem pretty consistent, yeah. In Jojo fights speed seems to almost always be the biggest advantage everyone has- the win condition when Jotaro, Josuke, etc. are in fights usually comes down to getting close enough to the opponent that they can't do anything. Or, you know...
"I can't beat the shit out of you without getting closer."
The blog just emphasizes that further with the sheer amount of times people have pulled off FTL reactions even outside of the obvious one in Silver Chariot shanking Hanged Man.

I think the common guess is Beerus is fighting Asura... though as I've mentioned a few times I hope it ends up being a Touhou character since that'd be hilarious.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaAsura from Asura's Wrath is the biggest candidate, but I could also see Hibiki from Symphogear. Both are based around destruction, Beerus with his Hakai, and Hibiki with anything that has Divine energy. This is because, Gungnir, her weapon, is also the Spear of Destiny that pierced Jesus on the cross, and thus, it has Divine and Godslaying properties, and is capable of killing entities that come from a level of dimensions that even the Superscience of symphogear can't measure. Beerus's Divine Ki could easily be equivalent to Symphogears Divine energy, with no real changes needed.
Beerus's Hakai spheres vs Hibiki's Divine Energy destruction properties would be quite a sight to see.

Watch SymphogearThere's plenty of options.
- Asura
- Arceus
- Sailor Galaxia
- Hades from Saint Seiya
- Phoenix from X-Men
- Darkseid if they really wanna make people mad
About Shantae VS Shovel Knight, Shantae's gonna stomp here because she had a recent game and she's a waifu of the highest order.
Jason has come back to kill for Mommy.
Well both of them would likely try to figure out how the other one fights. But Diavolo would see all the Pokemon move stuff via Epitath and maybe glean all the psychic powers only ten seconds before it happens, where Mewtwo would read his mind and go "Alright, this Stand stuff is peculiar, but I know how he works and everything he could do at any point."
