Rumor-based, fear-mongering and/or inflammatory statements that damage the quality of the thread will be thumped. Off-topic posts will also be thumped. Repeat offenders may be suspended.

Yeah, giving a speech is one thing (if still a bit risky), but becoming Biden's VP would be disastrous.
I think a lot of people still haven't forgiven Clinton for losing to Trump of all people. Add to that that she was incredibly unpopular in her own right, and it makes sense that a lot of people don't really want to hear from her any more.

Optimism is a duty.It was an unfunny joke that clearly had no chance of happening, that we've spent even a second talking about it is ridiculous.

"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnSo during a speech he gave at New Jersey's Bedminster country club, Trump defended members of the club who weren't wearing masks (despite a State ordnance requiring it) after a journalist called them out on it by saying "You're wrong about that because it's a political activity. They have expectations for political activities. And it's also a peaceful protest... To me they all look like they pretty much all have masks on." The president's comment drew cheers from the supporters. He continued to argue that the members were protesting the journalists in the room.
"You have an exclusion in the law it says peaceful protest or political activity, right? You could call it political activity, but I'd call it peaceful protest because they heard you were coming up and they know the news is fake," he said to applause
As a general rule, I don't have a desire to hit the elderly, but fucking Christ, this is why we haven't seen a decline in COVID-19 numbers - because the President is a goddamned man-baby who can't take an ounce of criticism.

"Why would I inflict myself on somebody else?"That you think Clinton being VP falls under Dude, Not Funny! is really telling about your own feelings, tbh.
Optimism is a duty.Because it's a joke that's been done for as long as this campaigning cycle has been going on and has been floated as a real possibility by the stupid left part of the political spectrum?
So yeah, of course any semblance of humour would wear off at some point.

Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.I found it kinda funny, doing it would be a terrible idea, but it’s a decent joke. I just think that Biden needs to be aware that being heavily associated with Hillary will hurt him electorally. One speech at the convention that will only be heard by politics junkies, that’s fine, but keep it at that.
Sure but it’s real nonetheless. So we have to consider it when planning things.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranSure, but the idea that a skilled politician and the last Democrat to run against Trump should sit down and shut up feels wrong. Would this even be in question if it was anyone else?
It's been fun.Does the "anyone else" in question have a similarly horrible reputation?
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."I mean the closest comparison I can do is Corbyn in the UK, and I certainly want him to keep his mouth shut even though I very much agree with his beliefs.
"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranI mean very common left wing attacks on Hillary we're her speeches to wall street, or her Super-predator speech in the 90s. I didn't hate her, I didn't like her but I voted for her. But acting like all attacks came from right wing types like alex jones is somewhat simplifying things.

New postmaster general overhauls USPS leadership amid probe into mail delays
According to a new organizational chart released by USPS, 23 postal executives were reassigned or displaced and five staffers joined the agency’s leadership from other positions.
“This organizational change will capture operating efficiencies by providing clarity and economies of scale that will allow us to reduce our cost base and capture new revenue,” said De Joy. “It is crucial that we do what is within our control to help us successfully complete our mission to serve the American people and, through the universal service obligation, bind our nation together by maintaining and operating our unique, vital and resilient infrastructure.” ADVERTISEMENT
De Joy announced there would be a hiring freeze and a request for voluntary early retirements. The USPS will also configure itself into three “operating units” of retail and delivery, logistics and processing, and commerce and business solutions and will cut back from seven regions to four.
The reshuffling comes as Democrats clamor for an investigation into USPS amid concerns over the agency’s ability to handle what is expected to be a flood of mail-in ballots this year. Lawmakers have warned that changes De Joy has made, including reducing overtime and adjusting delivery policies, may leave the agency even more unprepared.
“We believe these changes, made during the middle of a once-in-a-century pandemic, now threaten the timely delivery of mail — including medicines for seniors, paychecks for workers, and absentee ballots for voters — that is essential to millions of Americans. While it is true that the Postal Service has and continues to face financial challenges, enacting these policies as cost-cutting or efficiency measures as the COVID-19 public health emergency continues is counterproductive and unacceptable,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a letter to De Joy on Thursday.
The efforts to cut cost are in part an effort to dig USPS out of the steep financial hole it finds itself in; De Joy announced Friday that the USPS lost $2.2 billion in the second quarter of the year and could in total shed about $20 billion overall in 2019 and 2020. The agency has suffered a heavy financial toll during the coronavirus pandemic, with steep drops in first-class and business mail.
“Our financial position is dire, stemming from substantial declines in mail volume, a broken business model and a management strategy that has not adequately addressed these issues,” he said in remarks to the USPS Board of Governors on Friday. “Without dramatic change, there is no end in sight, and we face an impending liquidity crisis.”

"In a move surprising absolutely no one"So, at this point, should I even bother applying for an absentee voting ballot?
I guess, after a night of pillaging and raping, a Viking wants a little something to go with his cocoa.Assuming Biden wins, how much red tape needs to be dealt with to undo ?

SoundCloudAt this point everybody will have to show up in person to guarantee the Republicans lose.
"In a move surprising absolutely no one"X3 Apply for the vote, make sure to either post it back early or if your state allow drop it off yourself so you know it’s gotten to the election authority.
It could probably be undone largely in time for the next election, but there will be a level of instructional knowledge loss that will never come back.

"And the Bunny nails it!" ~ Gabrael "If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we." ~ CyranAnd I have to say, DeJoy's comments about the absentee ballots were one hell of a False Reassurance.
While there will “likely be an unprecedented increase in election mail volume due to the pandemic, the Postal Service has ample capacity to deliver all election mail securely and on time in accordance with our delivery standards, and we will do so,” De Joy said. “However ... we cannot correct the errors of (state and local) election boards if they fail to deploy processes that take our normal processing and delivery standards into account.”
Mail your ballot as soon as you get it. If your state requires the ballot be be dropped by election day and you don't think it'll get there in time, you might have to vote in person if you want it counted at all.

They're also pushing for early retirement of non-Union employees as a means to reduce costs.
"Why would I inflict myself on somebody else?"People probably don't want to hear from Bill Clinton either these days, especially seeing on how tone deaf he is on his past with women.
Optimism is a duty. It's worth remembering that how well people like Hillary Clinton is incredibly partisan. Here are the most recent poll numbers I could find, from 2018. Her approval rating among Democrats was 77%, which is really good. Her approval rating among Republicans was 4%. That's not a typo. Four percent.
The Hillary Clinton hate is driven entirely by the right-wing propaganda machine.

Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I mean, she's done enough objectionable things of her own (like backing up TERF-y rhetoric in her spare time) that Left wingers can have their own reasons to dislike her.
The awful things he says and does are burned into our cultural consciousness like a CRT display left on the same picture too long. -FighteerYeah, some of y'all really underestimate how disliked she is by the left. And not just among the Bernie-or-Bust crowd.
To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."30% amongst independents is bad, that’s a drop from 2016 and not something you want associated with Biden.

I think those two were responding to Tobias' joke that Hilary will be Biden's VP, rather than her giving a speech.
