Make it a Bowsette game.
I have no problem with Mario skewing a little older every once in awhile, the demographic's obviously there and as long as you don't go fanfic edgelord overboard it could lead to some cool stuff. Super Paper Mario is beloved for quite a few reasons, treating the narrative as something beyond a kids' storybook prime among them.

Bleye knows Sabers.Just a regular Mario game, but Luigi swears randomly somewhere in the middle.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Luigi: "Let go of my a-fucking brother, King Boo!"
King Boo: *GASP*
E. Gadd: *GASP*
Toad: *GASP*
Polterpup: Woof.
Just give Waluigi his crotch-chop in the new Strikers game, but give his model a very visible bulge on top of that.
Hell, maybe we can push it to M or AO.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! To make any mascot edgy cool, just give them a gun and throw in a random damn.

How to make the game M? ...Yoshi sacrifice is about to get a LOT more graphic...
Recently got Wario Land: Shake It! and for relatively cheap as well

Neat. That’s a game I’m surprised I own.
Why waste time when you can see the last sunset last?I had the chance to buy the game back in November 2011, but the criticisms it had received over its duration discouraged me from getting it (my mom had even asked me if there was a video game I wanted to get because she had the money to buy it, but I simply told her that nothing interested me).
Then I got to play Master of Disguise in 2014 and liked it, making me regret not having played Shake It! as well.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Shake It had a really memorable web ad where Wario would tear apart the Youtube page the ad was playing on but it is gone now.
Bleye knows Sabers.New TV spot for Strikers Battle League.
I like it. Striker ball hits Mario in the face, then he and Peach immediately realize "Oh shit, the time has finally come once again!"
...Now give me Daisy, Nintendo.
With the recent Paper Mario games getting mixed receptions at best, what is needed for a proper well received sequel?
Either a game that plays akin to the first two Paper Mario games, or at least a game that is good at what it offers in its format while also being free from constraints about story and character portrayals like Super Paper Mario.
Though considering that it's been 9 and a half years since Nintendo began constraining the sub-series with Sticker Star, I don't see them changing their minds anytime soon (and considering the poor reception Origami King garnered among longtime fans, I genuinely wonder if Nintendo still thinks it'll be worth making a new installment). If you're a purist, then you're probably better off playing Bug Fables.
BTW, I never played any of the PM games, nor do I have the interest to do so. I'm talking from what I've observed from the outside.

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300I mean, Nintendo seems to love making Mario games that throw back to older styles anyway. Make a Paper Mario that throws back to the old style of them.
Mario RPG Maker when lol?
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here. That's not a reasonable conclusion...
NSMB and the recent Mario Parties aren't proof of much.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Origami King has sold over 3 million copies. Its reception among "longtime fans" really doesn't matter at all as long as the series is profitable.

Trans rights are human rights.I mean Sticker Star and Origami King both sold fairly well with only Color Splash being the outlier (and given the console that's not a surprise). There may not be much incentive by Nintendo to really go back to the old style any time soon.
I've somewhat accepted that the best chance to get my fix is via various indie titles; Bug Fables ended up surpassing PM in many ways to the point where I'm okay if that's a franchise that carries the mantle for a while.
Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...Also most people who played did like it...
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.64 and Color Splash are my two all-time faves, so I wouldn't mind something closer to either game's style. With the trend of experimenting from Super on, the next game may have an entirely different method of combat!
The Protomen enhanced my life.I suggested the idea before but imagine a Paper Mario game making use of obscure elements and characters. Would be a fun way to test the waters to see if there’s demand to have a return to the old style.
That or they could just port/remaster Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario to test the waters.

Odyssey was rated B in CERO and +12 in PEGI already. The ESRB was actually the oddball in that it only gave it an E10+ (still higher than E).
So if this "T-Rated game" is not any different from Odyssey content-wise, then I'd be all for it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
