From what I understand, Kojima asked for the Matrix effects...
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireYep, but that still doesn't mean that we're supposed to enjoy all of them =) Yet, somehow, he catches a lot more flak for the Fan Disservice in MGS 4 rather than this =)
Videogames do not make you a worse person... Than you already are.Matrix > Old men ass shots and kissing each other.
I'd probably get The Twin Snakes if I had a Gamecube. But I don't.
Definitely gonna make a grab for the PC version of Solid though. Might even get the PS 1 VR Missions anyway, because why not.
visit my blog!ACID would be fun to play in HD. I love the second game's boss designs.
Was Jack Mackerel. | i rite gudI really wish they would re-release the entire Metal Gear franchise (including non-canon games like Snake's Revenge) for the PS 3, so I could have them all in one place.
Not that the series is especially hard to collect, but it would still be nice.
Anyway, I just started Peace Walker and got past the first mission. I gotta say the whole "interacting during the cutscenes" thing threw me for a loop... I didn't realize the splash that vaguely looked like an R button was in fact a prompt, and the game made me redo that until I got it. Afterwards I was much more vigilant.
I haven't gotten a chance to use the Fulton Recovery System yet.
EDIT: Seriously are there not that many MGS fans here or something? These topics keep going off the front page until I revive 'em. Quit dying on me, MGS topic!

visit my blog!So...
Are you going to get Rising whenever it comes out?
I'll probably try to pick it up.
If I have a PS 3 by that time, yes, I'm getting Rising.
Honestly, I sometimes feel like the only person in the universe who liked Raiden. I especially liked the perspective flip, forcing the player to see Snake as a legendary hero who was helping out your inexperienced rookie ass.
Granted, I expect there to be far less of that in Rising since I'm given to understand Snake was mostly involved with other things between MGS 2 and 4, but still, it'll be cool to take Raiden's shoes again. Especially with this new "Lightning Bolt" stealth they're talking about.
visit my blog!Nah, I like Raiden to, and never got all the hatred. But we're a rare bunch.
Power corrupts. Knowledge is Power. Study hard. Be evil.Raiden actually proved himself capable of becoming the next Snake, expertise-wise. Which was kind of the point. Emotionally, though, the kid is just broken.
Meh. I like him well enough.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireIt doesn't help that Raiden was purposely supposed to be lesser in some way to Snake.
Hoping that MGS Rising makes him a more 3-D character. Or at least is a really fun game about cutting things.
I liked raiden in mgs2 but not how he was in 4. And I stopped caring about mgs after 4 since that was the end although I might play the psp games when they can be emulated.
In the quiet of the night, the Neocount of Merentha mused: How long does evolution take, among the damned? That's the trick. MGS4 wasn't the of MGS, it was the end of Snake's story.
Raiden's story has yet to be finished.
Yeah but when they ruined him in the last game I donät really feel like his story is worth it anymore.
In the quiet of the night, the Neocount of Merentha mused: How long does evolution take, among the damned?I don't see how they ruined him so your point is lost on me.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireAfter all, Snake only took down three Metal Gears, one of which wasn't even operational.
Raiden took down 20. On the same day.
Which begs the question of what the hell is supposed to be so great about Metal Gears anyway.

visit my blog! Those were mass produced "Anti-Metal Gears", so quality was lacking when he was fighting them.
Power corrupts. Knowledge is Power. Study hard. Be evil. The first Metal Gear was supposed to be able to walk, act as heavy support for infantry, and shoot nuclear missiles at the same time. Why they didn't just use its missile pod on an actual tank, danged if I know.
The second Metal Gear was supposed to... uh... danged if I know.
Metal Gear Rex's railgun was supposed to be able to launch a nuke without it getting detected/intercepted until it was too late. But that brings up the question of why they didn't just mount the railgun on a more conventional platform.
Ultimately, the answer is because Humongous Mecha, that's why.
Nah, they said they wanted it portable so they could "strike from anywhere on the globe" and shit. Any terrain, any place, any time.
Power corrupts. Knowledge is Power. Study hard. Be evil.Wasn't that basically the idea behind the Shagohod?
visit my blog! The problem with the Shagohod being that it needed a flat plane for a running start.
Switch FC code: SW-4420-1809-1805And it, like the Metal Gears, could be taken out by a lone man with a rocket launcher.
Put a rocket in its treads and WHAM. (Seriously, drills for treads? That can't be practical)
visit my blog!So is anybody going to get the HD collection when it comes out?
Considering I've never played a MGS game (I have a Wii, a DS, and a 360), I'm hoping that I won't get Hype Backlash. Since most people think 2 and 3 are the best games in the series (Mind Screw plot aside), it should be good.
I will, however, certainly get the game if it includes this.
Two. Contains both basic MGS and VR Missions, which is comfy, has higher resolutions, has easily extractable WA Vs to make a CODEC ringtone for your mobile... and refuses to work properly on any videocard made after 2002 =) It's a port by Microsoft, what did you expect?
It's reportedly MGS 2-ish in gameplay, but the modifications to the Cutscene Power to the Max are so YMMV, it's usually regarded as being terribad, despite not being all that shabby if you've never come in contact with the original at all.
