Anime geemu wo shinasai!Question!
Does Omega have some sort of good cause to justify their intent on destroying the worlds? I understand that there may be a great amount of selfish people who don't care about the consequences of their actions regarding other people, but putting those aside is there a greater purpose to what they do or members who think they are doing some good?
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Grain: Well, that's positive. Can you just treat this like a normal RP?
Daltar: The being Omega has no choice about its actions, and is trying to end the cycle and escape. The Cultists who serve it, meanwhile, generally justify it with 'it's our fate and nothing can change it', 'we rebuild the world a little better each time', or 'if I stick with this, I might ascend to godhood myself'. There are the rare few who hang around in order to wait for an oppotunity to toss a wrench in the works and end it themselves; notably, the faction's Cultist leader.

Being the test subjects of a consortium of anonymous fantasy writers isn't a bad thing. It's an interesting thing to ponder; it's evidence of the wonders of the internet and of gamification and of human creativity in collaboration. It makes me happy (hence, "Cheers").
Anime geemu wo shinasai!I've got a strange suspicion that you're being sarcastic or something, but in the interests of the peace I'll just take that at face value.
... Err, or is that face level?
Anyways, I'm off again soon.
Damn, looks like I'm not finishing the OP for the RP thread tonight... My apologies.
How does a faction "Win the battle"?
GM of AGOG S4: Frontiers RP; Sub-GM of TABA, SOTR, & UUA RPsBy collecting enough 'power'. Every mortal, gifted and cultist killed grants some of their power to the faction who did the killing. One can also use imbue magic to bind mortals to a faction, thus slowly but constantly gaining power from them while they still live. At the end, whichever faction is dominant is the victor.
What's this world's level of technological development? About what we have now, or 20 Minutes into the Future? More importantly, what's the world's name?
GM of AGOG S4: Frontiers RP; Sub-GM of TABA, SOTR, & UUA RPsWell, in general worlds can be anywhere from early civilization eras to beyond the modern age. This one in particular's best analogue is shortly before the end of the Cold War, so 90s. So it's basically the modern age, pre-Ipod.
And the world's name... I haven't really decided. I like the old scifi that all planets are secretly named Earth but in the aliens' native tongue, but then that would be 'Earth' here... I'll have to think about it, unless you guys have a suggestion?

Since we're supposed to be normal people suddenly imbued with magical powers, will we be creating a lot of mundane NPC's to interact with? And, will we be making up the layout of the setting as we go along? I've been assuming that the game is set in a city, since it's been described as Urban Fantasy.

Anime geemu wo shinasai! With some members of Omega and Infinatus having noble goals, what noble goals would the more heroic members of Lesser Powers have? (If there is any noble goal for them to acheive anyways...)
Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.Oh hey, we have a discussion thread now!
That's, like... It's almost alive now!
...Crap... now I'll have to remember what I actually had in mind for Jack...
Anyway here's BlackwallGrain: Yeah, there will be plenty of NPCs and stuff running around. And I'll have some basic guidelines (suburbs and stuff) but yes, a lot of the city will be player designed. The Cultists are going to be hopelessly lost at first.
Jau: The LP are bit less on the 'idealism' side and more on the 'practical' side. Some of them want to protect the status quo and such or remain loyal to the Greater Powers, but a lot of them fight together because they have to. In fact, most of the cultists are that way- some are champions of their ideals and such, but a majority are just like you guys will be; normal people thrown into a war and forced to fight. Although after all this time they're a bit less 'normal'.
Kiri: And soon it will be more alive, once I find time in between various badly-timed orchestra concerts to make the OP. >_>

So as a Cultist my character will be suddenly thrown into an unknown location in the city? While the Gifted wake up in their homes with a strange mark, right?
Hmmm I guess a Cultist can feel a Gifted of her own Faction awakening nearby, right?

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Yes, as well as Gifted and Cultists of other factions if they aren't protecting themselves from being detected. Which is almost all Gifted at first.
This would result in a rather large spike in the murder rate if it wasn't for the fact that Cultists have to keep from arousing suspicion.

So first Order of business would be to get the new kids under control as soon as possible?
Hmmm it also seems like a good opportunity to attack the new assets of a rival Faction.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything. So, are we about to start this RP :D?
When I walk on the street counting my steps, magic keeps silent and reality stalks me.Yup, Hydrall is a little busy though, so we might need to wait a while for the game to start.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.Yay! Something to look forward to :)
When I walk on the street counting my steps, magic keeps silent and reality stalks me.Yeah, I've been having a slew of unexpected bad luck. If nothing else messes up, I should be able to post it tonight. Mind you, if my luck does continue this way, I'll probably have to wait 'til Sunday.
Don't rush too much. We can wait a little longer

Anyway here's BlackwallNo, take your time. I'm a bit busy this following week anyway :)
When I walk on the street counting my steps, magic keeps silent and reality stalks me.Questions:
a) Do you instinctively know what faction you are or are you only adapted into a faction once someone from the faction recognises the Mark?
b) Hydrall, do you have a character?
When I walk on the street counting my steps, magic keeps silent and reality stalks me.

Discussion thread. Questions about the setting are welcome, but be aware that this is an evolving setting with multiple authors... And also that a lot of it will come up in-game.
