I mean, pet homosexual sounds invidious/grovel (denigrante?) but with how bad homosexuality is potrayed in media in pretty sure there has to be some examples of gays being trated like Milhouse (or worse) by their friends. And while GBF sounds bad to me because of the movie of the same name, it works for any other story in wich a str8 and a gay character are, well, best friend (and in wich the gay character is treated with respect)
But of course, there would be a problem if, for example, someone else thinks GBF is a bad term that actualli means something like pet homosexual put examples of the later in the former; also some autors of pet homosexual character probably wrote them as a parody of the GB Fs.
Or maybe I'm saying stupid things because I didn't even know much of that term before watching that movie (besides a lot of stupid intenet arcticles about how every girl should have one).

@Gabo I don't think the trope is meant to be anyone who has a Gay Best Friend literally, it works kind of like the Black Best Friend, the trope implies there, there to seem progressive, but aren't given much development.
Well, the entry for the trope is kinda short. And, as it's written, it does point out how depictions of gay people in media are changing. The trope itself sounds like Black Best Friend. If we had it, I'd say both are subtropes of Minority Group Best Friend. It's like the antithesis of Five-Token Band.
Personally I think they could remove the redirect of Pet Homosexual, but... well, I'm not gay. I dunno if most people here would think so, even if I suspect they would.
