GIVE ME YOUR FACEA day of celebration, signifying the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting, which is when you try to swear off food and water from a time early in the morning until the second-to-last prayer of the day.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Cool.
Have a good one!
GIVE ME YOUR FACESo, what schools of Islam is everybody in? My parents are Sudanese so I'm pretty vanilla, I think: Sunni from the Maliki school.
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Hm, my school teaches academics as well as Islam, if that's what you mean. Like a normal school but it's an Islamic school.
While I do understand the existence of slightly different madhabs, I'm frankly not a fan of a one Islam having "branches" if you catch my drift. Though I believe that Sunni is the closest thing to the actual religion anyway.
Anywho, now to the reason why I'm posting here:
Happy Eid-ul-Adha everyone! 🎉🐐🐄

How early does everybody wake up to get to the Masjid on time? I heard there were three separate times for prayer on Eid.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Curious question: how genuinely does everybody listen to the sermons at Friday prayers? Very closely or does it go into one ear then leave a few seconds later?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.Man, I have not heard a Friday khutbah in ages. Probably because I'm not obligated to visit mosques for the Friday prayer anyway (🧕), and maybe also because pandemic. Doesn't excuse me from listening to them elsewhere though (online or likewise), I should do a lot more of that.
The more intently, the better, I suppose.
Creepypasta cleanup got two major pages for JTK and SlenderHappy 10th day of Ramadhan! The most blessed month on the Islamic lunar calendar! Recently finished my Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) of cornflakes and dates (and water lol).
I kinda inadvertently abstained from this site as well for a while 😅, I've been busier offline.
Just a bit of Islamic trivia; firstly noting that "Siyam" or "Sawm" (fasting in Ramadhan) is one of the 5 pillars of Islam, and that it (the Arabic word: صيام) moreso means "abstain" - to restrain oneself (from doing something) note .
Muslims abstain from more than just food and water (those of us who are well enough/able to do so, that is). We also refrain from sinning (as we're meant to on normal days too) and other things that may break the fast.
Another bit of trivia is that (most) devils are chained up during Ramadhan, which is awesome but what's also sobering about it is how it's most likely ourselves inclining towards a sin or bad habit instead of the devil's whispering. On the plus side though, that realisation may help in the mentality to change for the better. The opportunity of Ramadhan should be taken as a chance of a turning point in life rather than a break. May Allah bless us immensely this Ramadhan and help us improve ourselves, ameen.
I'm surprised no one yet mentioned that it's Ramadhan here, but I'll assume the best - that they're off doing more ibaadah instead lol
