First off, why did we cut this if it had such a high number on inbound links and Facebook likes? Its a meme, but so is The Ugly Barnacle and Candle Jack, and its been tired (and failed) to cut them in the past.
Yeah. We have lots of pages for memes. In fact, Memetic Mutation doubles as a index, because of how many there are. That thought-less cut even broke his index because of how careless it was.
I'm so glad to see the page die. I have nothing against listing memes, but devoting entire pages to memes without explaining anything about them is simply annoying.
I don't see any reason to cut the subpages, but I don't see any reason to keep them either, so I suppose I'm indifferent. They are much less likely to attract misuse then the main page.

If that was the problem, wouldn't the solution be explaining the meme instead of cutting the page?
Also, just in terms of sheer logic, shouldn't we move everything currently under The Game and put it in the main namespace? Are we going to clean up wicks first, and then move it? Or are we going to leave the main namespace blank, possibly even locked/redlinked?
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster. There is a motion to get works out of the main. At most there should be a redirect. Or a disambiguation.
Is Fast Eddie on a cutting-spree? Because I seen at least two pages go poof in the last two days due to executive decision?
The main namespace is going to be in an awkward position for awhile. Let's make it a disambiguation page for now.

It's locked, so don't bother with a disambig page.
I think the reason this one was cut was because it was being sinkholed whenever the words "the game" appeared in a general sense. But those have either gone or never existed because there's only 30 wiks.
I don't know...
Australia The country with a 2 party system But all the power with independentsYeah, it does seem odd that it would be cut and not turned into a disambig.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickAlso, why are memes so evil? Epic Fail is a meme and a trope at the same time, and a good one at that.
Memes aren't evil persay, they just aren't funny unless you know they're memes (most of the time) and they're not really works.
Fight smart, not fair. And in my opinion, they're not funny even if you know they're memes unless you know why they're memes. For instance, I never found any humor in "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" until I actually learned the details of its origin. Until then it was just this weird thing on the internet that some people thought was funny for some reason.
And I do have some issues with individual memes having their own page. Why was The Game considered more deserving of a page then, say, "Do Not Want"?

I was the one who started the TRS thread.
My reason was that it was being misused everywhere.
Is thirty pages "everywhere" now, or did they all get cleaned up already? If you're that quick with them, good job but you're making it hard to see the misuse.
Australia The country with a 2 party system But all the power with independentsWhen a page with a lot of wicks is cut, the related to page screws up. I remember that with So Yeah.

Well that explains it. Also makes it hard to find the Redlinks though...
Australia The country with a 2 party system But all the power with independentsSo yeah, should we make a crowner for this?
I am very surprised this game is considered a "meme". It's a mind-game, a little inside joke. It's hardly a meme... while it is commonly used on the internet, it is also played at several communities in the real world. I am so surprised that it was cut simply because you consider it a "meme"
Memes aren't exclusive to the internet. What was your point, exactly?
"Internet memes" are not exactly memes according to the original definition. Most of them are just in-jokes. The Game is a genuine, strict-definition meme, and it's an internet meme as well because of how the 'net has aided its spread.
I didn't write any of that.Still, though. It's still a mind-game despite that it has gained meme-type status. Simply saying "Over Nine Thousand" is a very shallow meme and undeserving of a page, but The Game has actual rules and is played by people throughout the world who don't even know what a meme is. It is seriously deserving of a page.
Actually, Over Nine Thousand is a page.
And it probably shouldn't be. There's no need for any meme pages to exist separately from Memetic Mutation - they should be redirects at most. I'll have to check out that page to see if it actually explains the meme - the way The Game page very prominently did not - but if it doesn't, then I'm taking it to TRS as well.

It's actually a redirect. And The Game explained what it was just fine.
Would have posted this in the other thread if somebody wasn't lock-happy.
Currently the Laconic, WMG, Headscratchers and Haiku subpages are solely about the meme (which was just cut).
Should these pages stay or be cut? They aren't likely to attract sinkholes. I feel like the Laconic and Haiku pages should fall under Just for Fun at least.
