Name me one primary character people like other than Stewie and Meg. And by people, I mean "60% or higher"
The Giant Chicken.
Whoops.

H.B. WardWhether people like them or not is not the primary criteria for being a Complete Monster. And despite what the internet tells you, plenty of people still like Brian. Hence the uproar when they "killed" him for a couple of episodes.
Ooh... Chris really shouldn't have listened to Neil there.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefYou know what I've noticed lately? The show is doing a lot of "Tell it like it is" jokes regarding things we see and do every day. Like the hard butter gag from "Hot Pocket-Dial" and the closed-captioning joke from "An App a Day", among others ("I'm looking at lamps I'll never buy.")
Hey Lois, remember that one time we were on TV Tropes and we got redirected to a page that said Inexact title because there was that one blue link that wasn't formatted properly and we had to edit the url in the taskbar?
H.B. WardSo in this episode, due to Peter's stupidity, the legal drinking age in Quahog was raised to 50.
And apparently Opie wasn't mentally challenged; he was just constantly hammered all the time.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefI've been watching Season 14 and I have to say...Family Guy is back! WOOO!!!!
That uh.... That Thomas Edison gag was fucking great.
H.B. Ward.... okay TWO places i go to online have said that the Thomas Edison gag was great??? NOW I NEED to see it.

You'll have to take my word for this one. Family Guy still isn't as great as it used to be, but this episode feels like they're making some attempt to return to form.
H.B. WardIt's ridiculous, has idiocy playing a part in the role, and no actual moral. It's also completely hilarious, actually does Black Comedy well and no-one too dickish
So Bonnie and Brian accidentally kiss, and Meg decides to steal from scumbag elderly people and gets Chris in on it. To be fair I don't blame any of them.
When you wish upon a side of beef, soon will come an end to all your griefAnd once again Brian becomes the Butt-Monkey. The culprit this time? Joe.
After everyone started calling him a dirtbag for the overexaggerated (trying to shag Lois) and the accidental (kissing Bonnie and shagging Ida), it's understandable he'd bolt with Bonnie.
And those senior jerks force Chris and Meg to spend time with them after returning their stuff.
So yeah, double Karma Houdini week. Was hoping they (Joe and the seniors) would get their just desserts.

Not gonna lie I felt far more sympathy for Brian than any of the other characters. The plot with Chris and Meg also felt more enjoyable than the plot with Brian and Bonnie.
Dude Opie being constantly hammered? Effin Brilliant.
The last few episodes have been pretty good. I really liked the Stewie nightmare episode.
I also felt worse for Brian than anyone else in the latest episode. And why do they even involve Quagmire with anything involving him? He's just going to act like an insufferable asshole.

So I just saw the episode with Stewie's nightmares.
Man when Family Guy strikes a rare hidden gem, it REALLY strikes! This was the most enjoyable episode to me since probably Road To The Multi-verse, which continues to prove that the best episodes are about Brian and Stewie and one of his inventions taking them on an adventure. The animation was fantastic, and the ending was unironically heartwarming. Peter's sidestory went to a gross place, but it didn't hurt the episode much.
I just saw both of the new episodes. I really feel like Family Guy is returning to the quality we had - or whatever kind of quality we had back in Season 8. (Holy shit, I think I accidentally didn't watch one episode from that season.)
The jokes are getting better, and they certainly are better than what we had last year, the plot with Stewie's dreams was interesting, and the cutaway gags still mostly seem quite relatable.
I also got a distinct Light Yagami vibe from Brian's ending in the latest one. I would have preferred a wham episode over the tie it up and reset it ending that we got instead.
H.B. WardI don't normally watch Family Guy, but I decided to watch the episode "Run, Chris, Run" out of curiosity due to the Youtube controversy. I think it's a sign of how far Family Guy has fallen that the only funny part of the episode was a video they took from Youtube.
There were a lot of points in the episode where they said things that I can understand were meant to be funny, but it just fell flat. And a lot of the cutaway gags were just completely gratuitous and awkward.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's PlayIs that the one where Meg blackmails Chris because he stole some money from Lois' purse?
No, that was Chris Cross, from season 11. You might've confused it with another Chris episode.
So we get another "Road to" ep, and our duo goes to India to find Brian's current love interest.

No, the main plots of the episode are Chris being elected homecoming King and Cleveland hanging out with another guy. The Youtube videos are used with voiceover when Peter is playing NES games with his friends.

Blind Final Fantasy 6 Let's Play
People probably do that, because people love throwing those tropes around, but they'd be wrong in most cases.
Those tropes have very specific criteria, that most characters in any work, even Family Guy don't fit. But this is TV tropes where Complete Monster, The Scrappy, and Mary Sue just means "character I don't like".
