I'm looking for some advice:
I brought this up briefly in Discord, but that moves too fast for me to easily keep up with (apologies in advance if I missed any answers as a result) so I thought I'd ask here:
I'm thinking next I thing I want to do is Will's Gym Battle in Turffield, but I'm not sure how to go about it. When I asked in Discord I was told I can do it solo, though I'm hesitant to do that. Mostly because, while I do have an arc I want to do for Will, doing it on my own would feel more like I'm narrating my own fanfic, and that seems to me like it would defeat the purpose of participating in a Pokemon RP in the first place.
On the other, because I do have an arc I want Will to go through, is that something I can/should coordinate with whoever I RP Will with for this battle?
This caused issues with Will's biological mother, since victory is her end-all/be-all. His adopted mother, on the other hand, is working around it by convincing him to be Willfully Weak. To deliberately make things hard on himself to push him to the limits and get the excitement he feels he can't get otherwise. So, for example, he'd avoid Dynamaxing, or using Pokemon with built-in type advantages. In line with the games, he'd probably do fine until he got to Kabu.

Hey, so, I'm gonna be setting up the visit to the Distortion World soon, so that we can get the Rainbow Rocket part of this arc on its way, who wants in? I'm not putting any sort of limit on how many players can get involved, but I am gonna ask that people generally keep their characters limited to just a few, including mons, just so it doesn't get overwhelming.
meeeee
No mind to think. No will to break.I'll join.
i think i’m in love (probably just hungry)You already know who I want to go. :P
Contact Me!I’m down to throw someone at this.
[Insert Unoriginal Stinger Here]I'll keep Will and Fuka where they are. I'm not familiar with the Distortion World, since there's a big gap in game knowledge for gens 5-7
Distortion World
Not sure if I'll supply any PCs yet, but Cyrus coming back involves Neptune by extension so I figure I'll get involved in some capacity.
Will's Character Development
That's something you can do once you find a willing volunteer, yeah.

Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. Can I throw a PC into the distortion world?
I used to plug my deviantart here but turns out the link was too long.I'll do distortion world. I'd like to help you out sgamer but I'm not sure if I'd have any human characters left for that.
There is no disdain in nature, there is no humiliation. For what it's worth I think for the moment I just need someone to play Milo and his mons more than anything, so you don't need a PC of your own unless you want to throw them in.
I'm joining distortion world and sending Arthur there, it seems fitting in a way honestly.
if there's any space left you already know I want in
"Dang that sure is totally poggers my good bitch"hi guys, the cringiest troper ever here to inquire about things and stuff before continuing my train wreck of a signup.
so where’s the plot at right now? Is it joinlocked at the moment? Where is everyone present at within the setting?
I might sound really stupid asking this, and I’m sorry
Hop on Pokémon Infinite FusionSo I've been a bit drained of ideas recently and I still want to do a spooky plot of sorts with WAAPT, I've been also playing Darkest Dungeons recently.
Usually I have some big opening text crawl of sorts to set the tone and idea of the story, but I have got nothing so far, this is just to see if anyone would be interested in going for one of these.
The basics are, One Character One Mon per player, the story is drop in drop out to represent a revolving party system, there will be dungeons, locations, loot and of course some good old Lovecraftian Gothic Horror.
Any interest?
Im interested
GIVE ME YOUR FACESounds interesting, I'll keep tabs on it.
[Insert Unoriginal Stinger Here]I might be interested too
There is no disdain in nature, there is no humiliation. Also a quick question: the discord invite on the wiki is expired. Could someone please fetch a new one? The page it’s on hasn’t been updated since 2018.
Hop on Pokémon Infinite FusionOh, we usually extend the link to the Discord after the Signup Test portion
"life is just a series of increasingly canon-eluding ao3 tags" ~ everydunsparce "Keep your hellfruit away from me, tempter" ~ also EveryI've been putting off starting Will's Turffield Gym battle, partly because I wanted to do a profile for Fuka's mother Suzie, who will be a part of the scenes involved, so I wanted to have something set up for her in case I start actively RPing with her.
Name:Suzie Dillon Rubens (née Minoru)
Age: 36
Gender: Female
Appearance: An adult woman, brown hair, just above shoulder length, and green eyes. Generally cheerful in expression but can become melancholic without warning. Travels in a wheelchair which has a blanket draped over her legs. In her youth she looked and acted like a more tomboyish version of Fuka.
Organization: N/A, acted as a freelancer (possibly to any historical or archeological organizations if there are any)
Region of Origin: Johto, Blackthorn City
The use of a Japanese name wasn't strictly planned, but I wanted her maiden name to be an anagram of Spearow and Fearow's Japanese names (Onisuzume and Onidrill/Onidoriru) and that's what the anagram maker gave me.
The one word that most defined Suzie Minoru throughout her life was "wanderlust". She became restless easily and could never stay in one place for any length of time. Not even marriage and motherhood could anchor her in one place for long. For all she loved her family she was traveling far more often than she was home, where on visits she would regale her young daughter with tales of her journeys and exploits. Those who know her are surprised to learn she has a child, often remarking that they can't imagine Suzie sitting still long enough to even get through a pregnancy.
Suzie's life of daring do came to a screeching halt one fateful day while visiting her old hometown of Blackthorn. A forest fire broke out and, unable to just stand by and do nothing, Suzie and Nidori jumped in and gave what aid she could to rescue and evacuation but, in the process, was caught up in an accident with a panicking Pokemon which left her grievously injured, her left leg mangled and crippled.
The realization she would never have full use of that leg and, by extension, her life of adventure was effectively over sent Suzie to a dark place. To her, life as an invalid seemed a Fate Worse than Death, and as such seriously contemplated the latter. As she recovered, however, a chance encounter with a little boy would change her life. The boy, Will, was running around the city on his own, save a little Igglybuff he carried with him. Suzie's time with him helped her to remember her own loved ones and pull her back from the Despair Event Horizon. She formally retired and either released her Pokemon or gave them to trainers she knew and trusted, even her beloved Nidori who would go on to guard the forest that nearly burned down, and returned home to her husband and daughter.
Unfortunately, even the hardest rock erodes. Suzie was ill suited to the sedentary lifestyle she had been required to adopt. She managed to stay upbeat initially, but over time the mundanity of routine wore her down and she became prone to fits of melancholy, depression, and angry lashing out. Watching her mother's downward spiral, Fuka made a decision. She set out on her Pokemon Journey, something she had delayed to help care for Suzie, to have adventures and lift her mother's spirits with tales of her exploits as Suzie had so often done for her. Her first order of business: Go to Blackthorn and recruit Will, the boy who had helped her mom in the past.
Suzie's relationship with her daughter is a loving one, but her lack of involvement in Fuka's upbringing means Fuka doesn't really regard her or defer to her as a child normally would a parent. Fuka treats her more like a peer or equal than an adult, a Cool Big Sis rather than a parent, acknowledging her authority solely in the context of travel and adventure. Suzie has come to terms with this, knowing from her own youth that things will not get much better as Fuka enters the more rebellious teenage years. Despite all this, Suzie holds a lot of pride in Fuka, regarding her as a better daughter than she's been a mother.
She does hold some regret over how things with Fuka turned out, however, which has motivated her to try to do better by her and also to be a proper parent for Will. When Will and Fuka's adventure ends in Will's estrangement from his mother, note Suzie and her husband Charlie invite Will into their home, where Suzie finds new purpose for herself in becoming a Parental Substitute and mentor for the boy.
To that end, she's encouraged Will to participate in the Galar Gym Challenge, using some of her old connections to snag him a sponsorship. She hopes to see Will be able to confront some of the shadows that have built up around him by taking on his home region's challenge. Like Will's biological mother, Suzie has also identified his issues with Pokemon Battling and is hoping to help correct them to a degree. Where Will's mother saw a lack of ambition and turned up the heat to motivate him to win, Suzie sees a child that wants to jump straight to the fun part without having to do all the dull lead-up to it. The kid loves Pokemon battling, and he's good at it, but can't muster the motivation to put in the work to reach the big leagues where he'll most thrive because he sees the process of getting there as unbearably boring. To that end, she's given Will tips to try and motivate him, as well as promised to watch his gym battles personally, which she up front admits is banking on the little guy's admiration of her and unwillingness to disappoint her.
I don't have Suzie's entire team planned out, but for the purposes of RP only 3 are strictly relevant.
Nickname: Nidori
Gender: Male
Ability: Keen Eye
Suzie's starter Pokemon, caught as a Spearow when she was a kid. Nidori was Suzie's constant companion throughout her adventuring career and was released upon her retirement as she felt he wouldn't do well in the mundane day to day she was retiring to. She would be surprised to learn he stayed in the mountains and forests south of Blackthorn, starting his own flock, and becoming essentially the boss bird of the route.
Nidori is distinguished by bright green eyes, uncommon for the species. He's also larger than average for a Fearow. Big enough that Suzie regularly rode him to fly wherever she needed to go. Will and Fuka encounter him early in their journey together when they stray into his flock's territory. Once he enters the scene, he and Fuka immediately recognize each other and Nidori allows them to both leave unharmed and take with them a small Spearow, the runt of the flock, who becomes Will's Spearow, Zoomer.
Suzie's connection to Nidori is strong enough that the cry the Spearow of Nidori's flock use to summon him is the same as a whistle Suzie would use for the same purpose. Suzie is also able to instantly recognize Zoomer as coming from her Pokemon's brood.
Species: Unown, letter W
Nickname: Waka
Gender: None, but Suzie tends to default to male pronouns and Waka doesn't care either way
Ability: Levitate
The only one of Suzie's Pokemon that was neither released nor passed on to another trainer upon her retirement. She tried, but she could never persuade or force Waka to go. Instead Waka has become a regular companion, if not seen floating around Suzie or resting in her lap, he's attached himself to the back of her wheelchair, looking like a company logo at first glance.
Suzie encountered Waka during a ruins exploration, hiding among the glyphs. Unlike most of its more timid brethren, Waka was as adventure hungry as Suzie herself, so they bonded quickly. Upon her retirement, Suzie released (and, in some cases) chased away most of her Pokemon, or have them to trainers she knew and trusted. Waka, sensing the negative emotions still building in her, refused to leave no matter what Suzie did and she eventually gave in. He's never been powerful in battle, but often helps other Pokemon to unlock their own Hidden Power. Post-retirement, Waka is something of a helper companion, assisting Suzie with day to day activity as needed.
Species: Garchomp
Nickname: Sami
Gender: Female
Ability: Sand Veil
Not actually Suzie's Pokemon. Sami is her husband Charlie Ruben's starter Pokemon. However, Sami possesses a very strong protective instinct and has taken it upon herself to be Suzie's unofficial nurse and Fuka's (and later Will's) nanny, so she is more often seen with one of them than her own trainer. In fact, because of Suzie's frequent absence, Sami was Fuka's primary caregiver to the point she called the Garchomp "mommy" until she was about four. Fuka's name comes from Sami's mach speed delivery of Suzie to the hospital so Fuka could be born.
Most people find the sight of a Garchomp doing domestic chores odd, but the Rubens family has long considered it normal. Will often has a mix of embarrassment and confusion whenever Sami fusses over him, smoothing his hair, making sure he has what he needs for the day, etc. She also acts as a parental figure for the kids' Pokemon. To the surprise of many, this causes friction with Will's Jigglypuff, Puri, who serves a similar role within Will's group of Pokemon and chafes against the authority of another Alpha Female. Most of the rest of Will's and Fuka's teams defer to Sami either from respect or her own considerable power.
While Charlie was never a battler by trade, Sami is plenty strong and capable of combat if needed. It's one reason he never minds her staying with the family instead of by him, as it means they always have someone he absolutely trusts protecting them.

Ruin has come to this hamlet I once called home, something here broke, it spoke of events yet to happen, it won't arrive until a fated time. To that, I send you, whoever you are, I hope you are of a brave heart and a sturdy resolve, as the things that lie beneath will test even the greatest of men.
I leave to you the hamlet itself, it is located in Galar and off to the east of Wedgehurst, should you take this, a caretaker will be awaiting you.
I am sorry for what I have brought upon you, and the fate you may be fighting, do know that everything I do, is for the betterment of us all. May Arceus have mercy on my soul.
Bring your pokemon, bring companions to fight with, the horrors that lie in these ruins are not ones you wish to fight alone.
Joseph Phillip Paige.
Hello everyone and welcome, so are you ready for a short subplot filled with Aesthetic, Horror, Stress, and our heroes overcoming darkness? If so? Good.
This is a Darkest Dungeons Subplot, as evidenced by the letter above Silas has received from a family member. The plot is simple and the mechanics just as so, Parties of 8 (One Trainer and One Mon) enter into several dungeons around this old hamlet (of which there are 6 planned) and go through quests to scout, cleanse, and eventually free the dungeon from enemies and bosses.
The system is entirely drop in drop out, characters are free to stay or leave as the players wish, you don't need to create any new characters for this.
