They are not being displayed, they are being linked to,there is a difference.
New theme music also a boxYeah, that applies to page pictures that illustrate a trope. Image links just wants examples.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. The Image Links section is something I've always thought of as an Example Section, but with images, rather than the description.
Fight smart, not fair.I'm surprised that this died off so quickly. Anyway, if we can put up random images that do not illustrate a trope, what is the point then?
To show any example in picture form, and have them not buried in the main page examples where most don't have any picture links.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Do you mean an example of the trope? like what the trope page pictures are for.

They aren't held to the same high standard as the page image, because the extra information isn't limited to what can be put in the caption box, and the picture isn't expected to do the job at first glance.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.But should they still illustrate the trope to some degree?
Yes. Of course.
But there are a lot of tropes that are about something that isn't easily picturable with some explanation to give it context, like an emotional state.
Take this one◊. Is she illustrating Oh, Crap!? Cloud Cuckoolander? Puppydog Eyes? Moe? Blue Screen Of Death? It could be anyone of those, just going by the picture. Now, add a couple of sentences explaining the context, and it's ok. It's not great, but it's ok. Page images should not just be "OK". They should be good, if not great. Page Images have to work as a single image.
Image Links pages are collections of images. The fact that they're collections means that they can prop each other up to a degree.

I thought the point of this was for tropes tat can be visually displayed so much that they would clog up the main page. Why do we allow JAFAAC?
