What was wrong with the Persona 3 manga?

Time skipping back and forth, skimming over key plot points and getting rid of much of the comedy and slice of life that.

P4's manga is generally lot better on this. It helps that P4 the game is generally better laid out as a story for this too hence why I am excited about this anime.

I haven't read the P4 manga at all, but my problem with P3's was how it had things in it which just plain wouldn't fit for the game. (Like the early presence of that guy with the scarf, and to a lesser extent, Aigis/Aegis.)

How did they handle the exploring of Tartarus/the TV world in the manga adaptations? Seeing as both P3 and P4 contain a lot of dungeon crawling, I wonder how they'll handle that for the anime adaptation.

I think Tartarus was shown like, twice in the P3 manga (when SEES first explores it, and the Empress/Emperor full moon event). P4 I think shows off each dungeon sans random encounters.

Lets see changes P4 manga made so far.

Spoilers for the manga

Well in the P4 manga the Yousuke fight is far more complex with the MC giving Yousuke making him accept his other side then getting the persona and kicks Shadow Yousuke's ass then they proseed to do the max s-link thing. The whole thing comes out excellent from a story telling perspective.

And Chie's arc the manga actually follows her experiances though the castle and have the MC and Yousuke do a Big Damn Heroes moment. Also they added a flashback to when they first met... both of them were pure Moe in it. The fight came off alot like Yousuke's as well. Any damage to the persona the person takes as well... Yousuke's got kicked in the nads by Chie's shadow. Right after that battle they cut to just before Yukiko's shadow battle (Thats as far as they have got.) so they are skipping all random battles and Dungeon Crawling.

...There's a P4 manga? Kind of odd that I've never heard about either of the last two games getting manga adaptions.

Yeah they are both done by the same artist. P3 P4 P2 and the rest of Atlus's stuff normally get Radio Dramas though.

P1 as well. It's actually pretty cool, it goes into a fair amount of stuff not covered in the game. No SQC though. sad

Personally, I'm not convinced this is a good idea. The plot might translate well, but one of the major charms of the game was the blank slate main character who made the various character interactions so open ended. If that changes, then for any given viewer they can't guarantee that the anime is really about the same group of friends that the game was about.

...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.

[up][up] Well that's a standard issue with Dating Sim Animes. This one will be the same studio as Amagami SS and the Director of Angel Beats so I think they will do a good job of it.

Too bad Studio Shaft didn't get it.

If we're still on the topic of Persona mangas, wasn't there a Persona 2 one?

On topic: This seems cool, I suppose. I woner how they'll pull some stuff off though, like S-Linking.

Why is that some of the lyrics sound like California Potato Power?

Hmm...looks well animated. Then there's Shoji Meguro...

Fuck, I'm watching this.

By the way, I suppose Inazagi is going to be much more useful to the MC in the anime, right?

[up] I think we'll see Yuu change up his personas at least a few times, since the whole Wild Card thing is part of the reason he's supposed to be so special in the first place. Additionally, considering that Atlus has Shown Their Work on Tarot Motifs big time, it would be a shame to get rid of one of the biggest indicators that our protagonist is indeed a "Fool" blessed with infinite potential and possibilities.

The P3 manga didn't have Persona-switching (Thanatos notwithstanding), and I don't think the P4 manga does either. It's safe to assume P 4 A won't as well.

[up] But given that they've given our protag a new name, I don't think it's too much to hope that they'll do some other stuff differently from the manga as well.

Fake Edit: Honestly, I just want to see if they'll have both the balls (no pun intended) and the approval of the Moral Guardians to put Mara on screen. Also, I want to see Jack Frost animated!

When did they give him a new name? Hasn't it always been Seta Souji?
