He doesn't really need to be a great detective, and you wouldn't get much chance to see it, given that most of his rogues gallery has no real interest in keeping their operations hidden, Batman himself has no problem breaking down doors and ignoring due process, and he can afford to carry around miniaturized gadgets that make old-fashioned deductive work largely moot anyway.

Writers will sometimes throw a bone to the idea, but mostly they just want to get straight to inevitable fighting and angst. Which, you know. Give the people what they want.

We kinda figured it was happening, but Batfleck is no more.

Also, they're eyeing a June 25, 2021 release for The Batman.

Eh, the only thing it says is that Affleck won't be in that movie because it will show a younger Bruce Wayne. No word about him no longer playing the character in future Justice League movies or so.

I was starting to really like his Batman. Since it’s being reported that the movie will be about a younger Bruce, I’m curious as to who they will cast.

[up][up]Given that we aren’t getting another JL movie anytime soon, that seems even less likely. Affleck ain’t getting any younger.

If Shazam and its brand of "mostly comedy with a splash of superheroing" approach succeeds, I wonder if DC will take the risk on a Plastic Man movie.

[up][up][up] To be perfectly honest, there's not really a place for Batman in the current DCEU. JL reduced him to a joke and... that's really all they can do with him. He can financially back the team, but with Cyborg there (who can gather intelligence way better), he's pretty much redundant at best.

Of course, the same can be said about... everyone but Cyborg and Superman. But yeah.

[up] I could see it. I mean, Guardians Of The Galaxy was a rousing success and they were way more obscure than Plastic Man.

Between Guardians, thor ragnarok and now Aquamn I will said the trent of superhero is being cheeky and lighthearted.

[up]I disagree, Batman is pretty much the strategist of the team so that is something, what Not to thrill is a younger batman because for me it will be the same batman we all acostumed to see and.....that it.

There are plenty of ways to play a younger Batman, I figure. Tim Burton leaned more on the "grim man of violence who hides behind the Bruce Wayne façade" portrayal Miller had in The Dark Knight Returns whilst Nolan was more along the vein of Jeph Loeb's "Intellectual billionaire" from The Long Halloween.

As long as you don't follow those exact takes, you can work other stuff.

Animated: If you only count wide theatrical releases: Two

So, how many do Superman and Wonder Woman have? So, the rich white guy has more movies than the environmental refugee and princess? That seems weird when phrased like that....

You mean than the illegal immigrant and the clay doll? Not surprising he has more movies under his (utility) belt.

Again not counting serials, Superman has overall seven live action movie, no theatrically released animated movies.

Wonder Woman has one live action movie. ONE!!!!!

For DTV animated films, Superman has seven, while Wonder Woman only has one (again, not counting team-ups or Justice League films).

I was being silly. I could also jokingly say that Clark and Bruce are examples of overcoming adversity or something. That Bruce didn't stay a victim, but did something about it to help others. I'd say he moved past it, but he usually doesn't fully recover from it. Well, Clark was adopted pretty quickly, so he's fine, but we still have a couple of orphans grow up to be great heros! If it were for the secret identity thing, they could be one of those inspirational speakers.

News about Zach Snyder's supposed Justice League trilogy.

For starters, Smith says the one Justice League movie we did get would’ve originally ended with boring CG villain Steppenwolf getting his butt beat by the good guys and then being transported back to his home planet. At that point, the League would’ve met big DC villain Darkseid, setting up the sequel. Also, an earlier version of the film had Green Lantern showing up to save the day instead of Superman, and Justice League 2 would’ve had the League working with the Green Lantern Corps. to go fight Darkseid. They would’ve lost, though, setting up the overplayed Empire Strikes Back-style bummer ending and leading to a third movie that was—as Smith puts—literally just the Justice League fighting Darkseid’s army on a “devastated” Earth.
... Yeah, I'm going to say that that sounds terrible.

Having the Green Lanterns show up would be nice, although the last movie sounds extremely generic.

Having the same Big Bad for several superhero movies in a row? Eh... not sure if that would really work. And folks would think Darkseid was a Thanos ripoff due to only watching the movies.

Man, had they actually gone ahead with Synder's plan for the Justice League sequel, the comparisons to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame would've been unavoidable. The fact that Thanos and Darkseid are very similar in their designs is one thing, but the basic structure is pretty much the same of the Avengers films. The first has the heroes team up to stop the Big Bad and his army, but they're really working for the Greater-Scope Villain. The heroes fight the Greater-Scope Villain in the sequel, end up losing, and Earth is decimated because of it. And the final film has the heroes band together to face the Greater-Scope Villain after he won, and save what's left of the Earth. In theory, it could've been told differently, but the broad strokes are essentially the same.

I'm still not sure if Infinity War / Endgame being a two-parter with a downer ending works, it almost certainly wouldn't have if it was so early in the franchise.

Yeah, Infinity War's downer ending only works because it was, like, the 19th film in the franchise.
