Also, are their certain monsters that shouldn't be used due to cultural issues?
For the life of me, I can't think of any.
I think they should add a valkyrie or an Angle to get a welder of holey magic.

Anything Korean?
Dude an angel would be perfect considering how freaky many of them look.
Is that still a thing in Korea?
I know the intention of Angel would be something along the lines of being holy, but man if they go with the Biblical Angel design I would give so much respect to them while also be slightly being disappointed. I think it would also be interesting if they model the angel after BB Hood, except said angel would actually be part of the forces of good.
A mix of the two would be the best option. Have them be the conventional Theme Park Version normally, but all of combat animations have them turning into the biblical version
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterMorrigana and Lilith by the artist cutesexyrobutts.
The comments in the original twitter thread are thirsty, as you'd expect. Then again, So am I.
Watch SymphogearRegarding an angel, for all we know they could end up revisiting that early concept design for Lilith (IIRC, an elder half-sister of Morrigan's, who tries to hide her angel hair-wings by keeping them folded up alongside her hair, but shapeshifts them into weapons when fighting, and can make her back-wings vanish at will).

Do you have a link to this information?
It's on her wiki page here: https://darkstalkers.fandom.com/wiki/Lilith
Huh, that's the 1st time I'm hearing about how Lilith was supposed to be the elder sister.
In fairness, Darkstalkers was all about flexing their tech. It's likely yet another reason why the series hasn't seen a proper new entry in decades.
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterI mean, look at Double from Skullgirls. It's doable and creates a draw for the character. Just being a pretty angel seems like a pretty shallow pick in general. Having a female character that manages to look monstrous would actually help even things out, too.
Especially since angels, at the least original ones from the bible tend to be bug-fucking horrifying.
So yeah it would be disappointing to have an angel character just be some scantily clad chick with white wings.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."If you’re going to use original designs, they should be more unique than standard anime waifus, but at the same time, Darkstalkers heavily trafficked in that.
For an angel character I'd go for the modern, human-like form for the default, and then use the more biblical form as an install, or part of a super.
"If you are going through hell, keep going." - Winston ChurchillThat's what I've been suggesting for Demetri when it comes to his jump over the VS games.
Once again, I'm very confused about which is more difficult to animate between sprites & 3D models.
On top of that, if it really is that expensive then I really don't know if another Darkstalkers break even on the budget.
That wouldn't be very Darkstalkers either
Sorry, what do you mean?
Basically what Phoenixact said but replace the angel with Demetri.
Demetri would basically animate without his monster form & his install super would be him transforming into his monster form. And controversially he wouldn't have his Midnight Bliss either.
Sounds to me like good way to portray Dee rather than Demitri.
But I like Donovan's Stand gimmick
The interest in Darkstalkers in the past month got me to look at the character pages, and I gotta say, I'm disappointed in Pyron.
Jedah's great, but what the hell is this Galactus-but-on-fire expy doing as the Big Bad in a horror-themed game? Like, if you wanted your final boss to be an alien, why not make it a lifeform that seeks to replace all living things with copies, or an unknown creature who wants to turn Earth into a feeding ground for its monstrous offspring, or even a horrific abomination with no set form which seeks to consume all life on Earth and make it a part of itself? There's all kinds of extraterrestrials in the pantheon of horror fiction, and Pyron takes inspiration from exactly none of them.

"Pyron is most likely an alien being meant to be representative of one of the fabled cosmic beings from Mars. The planet Mars is often associated with Fire because of its Japanese name Kasei (火星), which means Fire Planet.
According to the Bible, the Antichrist will honor a Foreign God-in other words, an Alien God-and the two of them will rule together. This god will be the God of Fortresses. In Greek and Roman mythology, the god Mars is said to have been worshiped in the form of two idols, one called Mars Gradivus, Mars of War, and the other Mars Quirinus, Mars of Fortresses. It is because of this that it is believed the God of Fortresses will come from Mars."
From the Darkstalker wiki.
Actually, that was in the Udon comics. IDW doesn't have the rights to Darkstalkers right now.
