Re Minecraft:

I haven't been playing video games as much as I used to. Bayonetta's been the only game I've played in a while.

Oh man, I am gettin' meself some Brink.

So... it's Team Fortress 2, only Darker and Edgier.

Also has character and weapon customization options, Le Parkour-style rapid movement systems, an actual single-player mode, and other little bits and goodies.

But mostly, yeah.

Yeah, but have there really been any unique game mechanics, at all?

For Brink? Unknown.

Meh, on second thought, I could probably buy the rest of the items I'm missing in TF 2 for $49.99.

...why would you even pay money for that.

I don't think I would enjoy it, but then again I don't think I'd like TF2, either.

I still need to beat Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles.

^^I do think that qualifies as one of the most anticlimactic boss fights ever.

Well, apparently FFXIV is down all week because of the earthquake. Can't say I blame them... I suppose I'll play City of Heroes instead. Or Phantasy Star Online, since it's been a while since me and Shlap played together, and we were never able to finish Vol Opt due to a glitch.

Oh, and I ordered God Eater Burst last night.

I am toiling through Mario Galaxy 2. My husband and I play it together—in that I play it and he watches while he plays 3-4 rounds of starcraft. is some nice bonding time.

I've gotten the "bonding time" speech from the missus before, too.

That's how we got into Star Wars Galaxies, Maverick, Master of Orion II hotseat games, and lately, Minecraft.

We're both looking forward to Portal 2 co-op play.

Old games: Master or Orion. Good god are the graphics horrible, but it's fun to play.

I have found the key to surviving scary games with your sanity intact.

Charlie the answer is to kill the monsters. No monsters no threat NO FEAR! Really having something to fight them with helps.

Well that's a given.

All I'm saying is that having disco music playing really takes the piss out of headcrab ambushes.

Or you know, keep playing scary games. Apart from SH II and Condemned II, I haven't been scared by a game.

Oh, and the Regenerators.

I just realized the only game I've played that could really be considered "scary" was Resident Evil 4, and I only played it for like 10 minutes. Shame really, I've heard a lot of good things about horror games. Maybe if I wasn't so much of a pussy

In other news, playing through Persona 3 Portable at the moment. I already have it on the PS 2 but it's cool that you can play as a chick in this one too.

Resi 4 is probably one of my favorite games of all time.

You ain't lived until you've played Resident Evil 4 on Professional difficulty.

Well then! Perhaps I should give it another try.

Of course, since I kept dying on what I assume was one of the easiest modes, I think I suck too much to play it in Professional mode.

IKR. It made the game awesome. And it ramped the suspense up. I remember the first time I played it in professional and met an Iron Maiden. Scary shit.

It has to be unlocked, so at the very least, you'd get better before you mange to play Professional.

Although...Spexico.

Afraid Of Monsters on Sven Coop with friends and blasting some sort of memetic silly song at full volume makes it a lot less scary...
