It's one of my favorite shows on TV! It's always absolutely brilliant.
Rawr!I'm hoping one of our channels will acquire it.. but I'm not holding my breath.
...is out to lunch.Since I'm in Canada, I tend to watch the series online.
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I just finished getting caught with this show. It needs more love all from all over the word. It is like The Office with sympathetic characters.
And on top of that, it has this vibe of some sort of a Live Action spiritual successor to the golden era Simpsons' season.

Yeah I'm catching up to P&R right now (at ep 7 of season 3). It started out kinda bland but it's gotten pretty good since then. I really like Andy and the new guy Ben. Also Will Arnett's cameo was fantastic I couldn't help but laugh at pretty much every single one of his lines.
Holy stuff, seriously. Guys, if you are not watching this show, you are really missing something here. Unbelievably enough, season 4 seems heading to be better than season 3 (and season 3 was incredibly solid). The second season 4 episode was a 22 minutes long Crowning Moment Of Funny. I cannot really explain realistically how incredibly good this show can get.
I mean, really. We get to see the other two Tammys in Ron's life in action. Yes, that means Ron's mom is there too. Then we have Tom and Jean Ralphio action too.

For me the high point will always be Leslie's impression of Tom.
'Damn Jerry, you jumped in a creek for a burrito? What would you do for a chocolate bar, kill your wife?' *the face*
No food for the beastmaster. He feeds on the blood of his prey.I love it. At first I also thought it was just a clone of The Office, which I don't like, but it really started to grow on me. It's funny, but not stupid. My favorite character is probably Ben. Or Tom.
I don't like The Office either, but I love Parks and Rec (I'm not very far into it yet). It does every single thing right that bugged me about The Office. Amy Poehler is the funniest!
I like Ron. He is like one of the most badass things you would ever seen, yet he has a real life cryptonite that makes him kind of believable. And he is nuts, which is a requirement to be in this show. But the cool thing about the show is that everyone is nuts in a sympathetic way. That's the polar opposite of The Office.

My favourite characters are Ben and Ron. I'm glad they got rid of Mark cause Ben does a much better job being a hilarious straight man and he's got a lot more personality too (plus his tendency to be really anal about nerd stuff is always a good laugh).
This season has been pretty good but I'm starting to wonder if the writers don't know what to do with Anne. She's had some really boring arcs in each episode and doesn't really do anything.
Man, when you said "Mark" I actually had to go look up who that was. The first season seems so long ago...
Actually that was in season 2. He's just a completely bland and forgettable person.
Mark was good back in season one, when he was a sleazy douche. I think ironing that out made him boring and bland.
Anne I've been fine with this season, but I do worry that they're going to run out of ways to use her. But then again, they're not really trying very hard with her — I think she'd have been a cool character to have dropped into the Entertainment 720 plot line. Unlikely buddy comedy could occur between Anne and Tom, where he teaches her to be less "boring" and she helps him get his shit together.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet.I liked Anne last episode, I mean, JOGGING IS THE WORST, CHRIS. I know it keeps you healthy, but God, at what cost? ..., has made her win a ton of points with me.
But otherwise I think that both she and Chris are having issues fitting in and would do better as recurring characters rather than ensemble imho.
Anne was fun last episode but before that there was the subplot where she wastes like 5 minutes of the episode whining about why she was ever interested in Chris (an otherwise fantastic episode for Ron so it was annoying to keep coming back to the non-plot with Anne which had a weak conclusion), or the episode after where she whines about never having a "casual" conversation with April or Ron (yet another non-plot with a weak conclusion) or the other episode where she's just Ron's sidekick and doesn't really have any lines.
Hopefully they find something better to do with her.
As for Chris, I thought he was on fire in Season 3, he definitely seemed like he was part of the group then, this season his subplot with Jerry's daughter is...a little creepy but he still sometimes has his moments.
Hi everybody! Guess what? I've been secretly an undercover rock star this whole time!
For what's worth I think you would make an incredible brunette. Ron Swanson.

Just watched the first two episodes of the second season (skipped the first). Really enjoy the show. It's very warm and funny.
HodorI watched all of season 4 so far in the past two days. What a lovely show!
CALC-YOU-LATER!
"Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person that doesn't get it."You know , April is my first case of Perverse Sexual Lust in ages. Her Christmas gift was the last straw.
I just recently got caught up on all the episodes, and I have to say I really love this show. All the characters are genuinely likeable in their own way, and manage to have character development without losing humour. And the characters mostly try to help each other out in their own way, even if they aren't the closest of friends (i.e Donna wanting to take Ben along for Treat Yo Self day). It's nice watching a show where the humour doesn't solely come from characters being dicks to each other.
And the whole office offering to run Leslie's campaign was just awesome.

"You fail to recognize that it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be."
Anyone else watch this show? At first I thought it was simply another expy of The Office, but it actually turned out to be the Luigi to their Mario. Cleverly written and likable characters, I actually enjoy it a lot more than the creator's other show they have on NBC.
