What about those two random citizens from the start of Futurama who are wearing plastic censor bar clothes? You can tell they're not wearing underwear because the censor bars are part of the fashion of the clothes.
IIRC the image was chosen in the original IP thread (before it became a subforum). This image was chosen as a pun because it avoided ended up with really risqué images that may get forbidden (See the admin note of Under Boobs)
Yeah, it's gonna be hard to find a good pic that doesn't raise potential NSFG issues. The current pic is a good Visual Pun.
Current image is fine.
New theme music also a boxI'm not much of a fan of the current image, but I'm okay with it because we're not going to find a SFG alternative.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyIsn't the general idea that a bad picture is worse than no picture? The current picture may be a Visual Pun, but that pun doesn't convey the idea of the trope so much as play off of the name, which doesn't exactly do wonders for the associated trope itself.
If we can't find an acceptable example of the trope, then we should leave it blank.

This is still a signature. No pic is better than a bad pic, but a pic that the consensus agrees works as a Visual Pun or some other sly take on the trope is acceptable.
^I'd prefer the latter to the former, honestly.
Infinite Tree: an experimental storyI don't dislike it, but it wouldn't hurt my feelings to see it go...maybe we should do a single-issue crowner on whether or not to keep it.
First one looks good to me, second is almost the same but at that resolution she could have sneaked undies there.
That first one is pretty good. Cher's has a built in bra. You can see the underwire if you look for it.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickPenelo from Revenant Wings◊ is probably safe.
That would work, too.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.EDIT: Replaced the grainy gif with a png.

Caption: "There is no way she's got underwear on."
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Love the Penelo one.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. Why couldn't she have worn that in FFXII? Damn you Japan.
And +1 to using that.

I prefer the joke. "Not an example" isn't really a reason. We started putting a lot of the images on to make jokes, there have been plenty of joke images and I think the current image is "wit by omission".
Final Fantasy XII Revenant Wings is available in the US (you should see her dance sequence :p)
Anyways +1 for the change.
Walking in front of a blue screen wearing blue is massively misleading as it could easily be another trope.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Wit is one thing, but this one is misleading. The image is another kind of unusual clothing altogether.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman. The Penelo pic is good. There's also this◊ Catwoman pic from Gotham City Sirens.

Should I put Penelo up, or are there any objections?
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
The trope is "Character isn't wearing underwear and is wearing clothes that show off this fact without actually showing it." or something to that general effect.
The picture is probably an example of Invisibility Cloak but it ain't Vapor Wear.
This is still a signature.
