Their abilities are very similar, except one uses light while the other shadow, that was the biggest one I was thinking of.

Secondly, Alice is reserved/solemn, while Baksas would be rather forward, and would say whatever he thought without regard to being proper or etiquette. Basically, he's got all the basic attributes of classic knight in shining armor except the courtly training (due to you know, being raised mostly on the run by a wolf).

So from my perspective we have a solemn prim and proper lady who doesn't know much about surviving (extrapolated from no cooking cleaning skills), with the ability to manipulate shadow vs. a raised by wolf squire-thing with the ability to build things out of light.

Name: Tarot Antanda

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Appearance: Black hair and brown eyes. Wears expensive clothes and carries himself with an air of importance.

Personality: Both hot-headed and moody. Prone to mouthing off.

Power: Creates and control of fire.

Background: Tarot's family were your typical Nobles who ruled their lands without much care. Then the revolts happened and most of them died, Tarot's grandfather was killed outright while his gradmother was put on trial for he abuses of the people and then executed. His mother was a young woman when this happened and managed to escape though. Hiding her identity she managed to use the wealth she had escaped with to make some good business deals and restored her livelihood. She met another Noble in hiding and married him and they had Tarot. Unlike many other Nobles, Tarot grew up in relative wealth and was raised to be proud of his heritage and chafed under having to hide his powers. When the war broke out he enlisted as soon as he was of age and fought with distinction. He revealed his powers on the battlefield and for once was actually looked on with awe by the normal Gaean troops. The war has ended though and he finds that the government is discharging all Nobles from its ranks. Angry and betrayed, he seeks out other Nobles hoping to convince them to stay and resist the oppression rather than flee the land he so cherishes.

Gender: Male

Age: 21

Appearance: An extremely skinny black-haired man whose eyes glow a bright red.

Personality: He's fond of playing tricks on others, but dislikes killing to the point where he'll only do so if completely necessary.

Power: The ability to turn Moonlight into Hard Light

Background: Umbra was born on the night of a new moon, hence his name. The Nox, unlike several other Noble houses, didn't believe that the Nobles would come back into power and were happy enough to eke out a comfortable existence hiding away from those who would do harm to Nobles. Umbra, however, began planning to leave, seeking to reach safety in hopes of being able to live a (Relatively) normal life.

Huh... they do make a rather good contrast. I was just thinking about the powers and how she's a proper lady and he's a warrior.

And it's true, she has no survival or everyday skills whatsoever. Still if we're going to discuss this further then lets head to the discussion thread.

• Name: Lykouleon Aster 
• Gender: Male
• Age: 68
• Appearance: An elderly man, with a face wrinkled with laugh lines and eyes slightly smaller than average, giving the perception of a constant chuckle. He still has most of his hair, but it's long since gone gray. He's of average height and build, maybe a little bit heavier than he ought to be from years of relatively easy life, but his limbs still seen to hold stremgth. His favorite outfit is an ornate blue jacket with white cuffs, with the sigil of House Aster (A red bar, called a river, running diagonally on a white field) embroidered on his cloak. He has a small, young hunting sparrowhawk he calls Cooro and a thick cane the bird perchs on.    
• Personality: A firm believer in the inherent goodness of both Gaeans and Humans, Lykouleon acts as a mentor for many of the younger of his race. He's an approachable person, willing to dispense advice and listen at any time. 
• Power: The Star of Aster, a white light that he can bring forth to heal, sooth, and bring light to dark places. Not too useful on the offense, altogether. White Magic.

so, given this character's Knight of Cerebus tendencies, I will start at around page 10.

Name: Rostov A. Fleming

Gender: Male

Age: 57

Appearance: Tattered and heavy coat made of leather, a woolen ushanka covering his head and black hair. He has blue eyes, a slightly crooked nose, and a bushy mustache underneath.

Personality: Cold and bitter to outsiders and youth, keeps to himself more often than not, but will help whomever comes requesting aid

Power: Befoulment: Any liquid that his fingers touch quickly become scourged and unfit for any type of use. The longer his fingers are in contact with the surface of said water, the fouler it becomes. Obviously, larger bodies take much longer to befoul. This affects meats, vegetables, and other things with liquids held within, but he must hold living things for an extended period for any serious damage to afflict them.

Background: A simple man, he was born and raised on Serrani with a relatively poor upbringing (as far as nobles at the period go). A tragedy involving a foolish woman, some snow, and a very unhappy militia had left his parents dead and him scrounging on the streets. He eventually became a poison-dealer, never exposing his secret brews except that "You will never find toxins like this." With his ill-gotten gains, he eventually went to an academy, where he learned the basics of then-known chemistry. Mercury was an effective ingredient, but he found his playful fingers gave it such a homely touch...

Of course, that was all in his youth. With one marriage come and gone, the poor man is now looking for other things to preoccupy his time.

romanmyth: Accepted but one thing confuses me. Your character is old enough to have been around when the Nobles still ruled the country, and you have powers so that makes yo a Noble. Are you saying he was born poor or did he lose everything during the revolts?

Name: Maou Dice

Gender: Male

Age: 17

Appearance: Relatively tall, but slim and not particularly muscular. Shoulder length black hair with streaks dyed red. Wears a white shirt and a black leather jacket along with black jeans with chains around the pockets. A single silver cross earing on his left ear.

Personality: He bases his whole life around fun. Whatever he does is for his own entertainment value. This often leads to various strange things happening around town that are not serious enough for the police to get involved, but are strange. He is either seen smiling maniacally, or scowling. There isn't much in between.

Power: Luck. He's extremely lucky to the point where he gets a 90% chance of guessing right the roll of a die.

Background: His mother went MIA during the war while helping on the Gaean's side in guise of a regular Gaean. Due to her ability, it is unlikely that she is actaully dead. Maou's father's current status is unknown and Maou makes up a Multiple-Choice Past for him.

Maou lives on his own (no one knows where exactly) and spends his time wreaking general insanity upon the town. He once triggered a stampede of horses to provide a distraction so he could steal various objects (his modern-clothing, and an unloaded pistol) from a soldier in the land. The stampede part is known by most, but not the theft part. Tales of his various deeds are known throughout the young people of his generation.

This looks fun, gimme a moment and I'll come up with a character.

Well, sorry for the delay, but Real Life happened.

Name: Alexander 'Sasha' Tayallard

Gender: male

Age: 30

Appearance: A tall and slim man, with a hooked nose and black, half-long hair and scrubby sideburns. He has green eyes, but generally a grumpy facial expression. He dresses in an attire, similar to a Victorian gentlemen. Carries a cane, if more for the image than because he would need it. But it does come in handy after a long port.

Personality: While not exactly the extroverted type, Alexander tries to put up a facade of polite aloofness when dealing with other people. His power requires a certain amount of concentration, so he is usually pensive mood.

Power: The ability to teleport himself and things he touches. He has to be familiar with the place he is teleporting to and the more mass he has to transport and the farer it goes, the more exhausting is becomes for him.

Background: While his family was mostly spared during the initial revolt, they suffered heavily during the following war. All sides used their abilities for reckon and commando missions, so they were usually killed on sight. Alexanders remaining relatives are literally living scattered across the whole world and he has no contact. He himself has to report weekly to a local government agent, they use him occasionally as an express courier. Given that nobody wants to be to close associated with man who apparently is under constant surveillance, he led a rather lonely life so far.

Name: Violet Coil

Gender: Female

Age: Twenty-five

Appearance: Blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes. Because she is short and prefers to dress in fancy, decorative outfits with abundant frills she is sometimes mistaken for a child from a distance or if her face is obscured.

Personality: Violet is often smiling in either a friendly way or because of her own private jokes. She's outspoken about her opinions which she holds in high regard. While she doesn't have a short temper, she'll happily provoke others into a fight for some light fun.

Power: Lightning! But not to a crazy extent. She doesn't rely on her powers much and lacks a refined control of them.

Background: When the revolts began, the Coils quickly saw which way the tide was going and most attempted to surrender themselves peacefully. Having been something of a minor family to begin with, they adapted to the position of second class citizens with more ease than others, though not much grace. Born after the revolution, Violet grew up sensing the unspoken restlessness her family lived in. She was taught not to be ashamed of her powers even while being warned never to use them. As a result, she plunges head first into life, living as free as her status allows. She joined the army to fight against the invading humans, then retired after the fighting was over.
