Present!Tagg: -Looks at the symbol- We'd end up running into these guys a bit farther into the future. But before we go into that I'm sure you guys would rather see something a bit more light-hearted, correct?

-The illusion starts to shift-

-Wakes up-

Oh another Illusion show! Goodie!

-Gets off the chair and hops into the illusion-

Maekrite — <Aw, cool! What will we see next?>

Dintel (hugging the egg) — <Something heartwarming please...>

— Oh, well, let's see, Tagg... What will we witness next? That time we taught the Mankeys to use typewriter machines? Our fortunately forgotten blooper at the Rustboro Agriculture Exposition? The ticklefest at that Jigglypuff place? Perhaps the time Dintel and Gene met? Or something else?

Dintel — <Yay! I remember Gene!>

Algira — <...Of course you do, silly...>

Lake: <I would...>

-Pats Lake's back.-

Come on, it turned out alright in the end, didn't it?

Lake: <...I guess.>

Christmas Eve that year

-The illusion changes into the old HQ in the winter. I'm wearing a Santa Claus hat and going over one of my articles-

I really ought to go overhaul that Aron article of mine one of these days. Shame Tangent is busy mailing stuff.

-Thinks for a second-

Next month I'm headed to Sinnoh for research, so I'll definitely have far more info. Now if only we could get more funding.

Present!Tagg: Of course I had to wait until the next year before I went, but what can you do?

-we went for a long flight around Sinnoh, taking in the sights, and talking a lot-

-Has been wandering around looking for Star-

In the Past

-I walk in to the room carrying a couple of boxes with research material. Noctowl flies in carrying a small toolbox too, and after leaving it right besides Tangent's chair, since he is still out, flies up to perch on a stick we have hung from the ceiling-

Pokéteco — <It's real nice outside, not counting the cold of course...> — does a sort-of-sneeze — <And old ladies are giving out donuts to eat for free...>

Past!Silent — Hey you, Tagg! — puts down the boxes and opens one of them — Here's some coffee for the coffee machine!

-I walk around and notice Inka sleeping in her box near the corner. The box is wrapped in newspaper and several old clothes to warm up, and there's a water bowl by the side. Inka is leaning on a polar, half-curled, while a pink furball clings to her belly to extract as much milk as it can-

— Aww, isn't that cute. — turns to the side — I can't believe I had to bring him, too. Wouldn't stop following me until the train station, and didn't seem to be scared of the ongoing works...

-In the present, Maekrite blushes and asks for another scene-

-In the past, I look to the other side of the room, where a dark-coloured Nidorino is pacing around nervously, scratching the random boxes still in the ground and growling softly-

Dad — Niii... nrrriiiii... — <I can't believe my child has to live in a place like this...> — thursts horn against a sofa — <there's no grass... those boxes are barely edible...> — sniffs around and hesitantly approaches Tagg's mons — <Oh well at least I have company...>

-Dad goes to where Shaun is and sits around to talk about whatever-

Past!Silent — Oh and before I forget, I just got a mail from the Shamoutli Islands exploration center. They say they might be able to cover the funds for two of us, tops, to go explore the islands. They joked about it having to be a one-way ticket...

-Has been reading up on Sinnoh Pokemon-

At least it's not as hard for us to do research anymore since the new guys have been helping us out. Of course we're all still being paid in peanuts. We've already got guys up in Sinnoh, for instance, and if all goes well I'll be joining them.

The badges on the side will be merely the icing on the cake. Not like I'll end up dealing with some sort of evil team whenever I get up there.
