The Scytherwoman—Mia, is it?—will join Fuka and Evelyn and will be under Grip's command at one of the ships. You will be reinforced by Dolly and our other fellows at sea. I'll be heading the ambush and will be joined by Ian, Hazel, and Lance, plus whatever insiders of ours were deployed overland.

Santa's Workshop

An injured Saint Nick is brought to an audience of Interpol soldiers. They have set up a trial to determine his fate once he is incarcerated. Acting as judge and jury is Deputy Director Panelo, appearing in the form of a rotom drone hologram, stands before a lectern the staff brought in.

Deputy Director Panelo: You know, Lieutenant. The key to getting those meddling J-Teamers out of the way is to schedule this when they're up to something else.

Dave, in the crowd of IDPD troops, stares at the lieutenant and shrugs.

Deputy Director Panelo: On the plus side, it helped that we have people on the inside. Pretty smart of Director Hontou to make sending privates on doughnut runs a thing. Some say it's a grievous misuse of government funding. I call it good strategy. You should all pay heed to the warnings sent out by witnesses.

An intern hands Lieutenant Cross a glass of Eggnog they retrieved from Santa's kitchen. Panelo lifts up her own mug of eggnog. Santa, shackled, looks crestfallen; that was the good eggnog he planned to share with the Jynxes after the holidays.

Deputy Director Panelo: To Director Hontou. I'll let him know that you appreciated my assistance in this matter.

The mock trial began.

Deputy Director Panelo: Nicholas of [Myra]! You have been accused of the following crimes. Multiple counts of breaking and entering while leaving suspicious packages on the homes of countless people across [Europe] and the [Western] world. Multiple timeline breaches and unauthorized manipulation of the spacetime continuum.

She wasn't even halfway done and St. Nick has had enough.

Santa: Hey, now. I do not bend the continuum against the Lord's wishes nor for my own benefit. It is in the name of generosity.

Deputy Director Panelo: The next charges are various financial crimes as listed here.

A holographic slide appears with various trumped-up financial charges. Seems like Saint Nick had been investing.

Santa: That is all completely legitimate. Some of those gifts are expensive. I mean, have you seen the price of a Switch?

Deputy Director Panelo: Obstruction of justice by interrupting an execution. Unauthorized necromancy. Defying the orders of [Emperor Diocletian]. Interrupting a business transaction.

Santa: Those girls were going to be sold to slavery of the worst kind! Their father was coerced.

Deputy Director Panelo: Getting into an physical altercation against another bishop during the [Council of Nicaea], and several instances of cultural vandalism.

Beat.

Santa: Okay. I honestly got a bit carried away back there. It happens.

Deputy Director Panelo: And coal? Seriously, St. Nick. You have crimes against the environment? Disgusting.

Santa: Far better than burning it.

Deputy Director Panelo: What's this about burning coal?

Santa: I'm just saying, my access point to your universe is a liquid ocean year round, whereas the ones where the J-Team still act still have an ice cap.

Deputy Director Panelo: Oh, I've heard enough.

The jamming signal intrudes on many civilian-access media channels and Interpol official bands in a specific timeline, but in the one called the OU, it's merely broadcast to active Jammers... And also this timeline's Interpol (presumably less terrible than their Lilifuture counterpart) frequencies. Whoops-

The Voice: So so so, Merry Christmas. Brother what's my name? Yeah you got it. Looks like you kids have been hard at work getting everything set up for the big night.

-For those interruptions that include a visual element, video and images of decoration (both the efforts of Jammers in the Lilifuture and more professional images captured in the OU) fill the screen-

The Voice: But of course, of course, I didn't call in to the bobbies just to show off the lights. Nah, this is a warning hombres. My ears hear your little show trial, my eyes see your invasion of the old man's realm and as you know my name you also know my signs. And the warning is thus: The jury of the Jammers finds him not guilty. You will unhand the man or they will batter down your doors, with some old heroes in tow. A voice is suddenly heard from the seemingly malfunctioning Comm Systems. One very familiar to the Deputy Director.

Tommy, Jr.: Uh, is this the hotline for the commissary? I'd like to order your Holiday bouffalant stroganoff special and I was wondering if you still have some that's dairy-free—Hello? Hello?!

Captain Macraul, clicking on the intercom: Mr. Petersen, we're in an emergency situation.

Tommy, Jr.: I'll say. What's a man gotta to do get a Christmas Eve dinner around here? Oh, crap, they did that? What's this about inva—.

Captain Macraul shuts off the intercom. Panelo points to one of the agents at the bridge

Deputy Director Panelo: Send the stroganoff to his quarters and put in a dose of amnestics in it.

The agent stands up, salutes, and exits.

Deputy Director Panelo: That'll take care of the Petersen problem. And as for Team Signal and their allies. Their problems have only just begun.

Silas entered the cargo bay, around could be seen several large crates of supplies, as well as 3 robotic frames backed against the walls and cargo doors. Everything was strapped down and entering the cargo bay would reveal to everyone that gravity was out.

"Okay so first thing's first, we are in a perpetual thrust transit to Mars, this means normally you'd be pushed against the wall and feeling as if you were under the effects of gravity, but thanks to the gravity strips and generator, I've nullified that effect. This will be basic EVA practice."

Silas kicked off against the floor and landed on the ceiling, "We'll be practicing some basic Zero-G Maneuvers and then moving onto EVA Pack usage, any questions?"
