For Ecksbawks? I'd be nice to add one more to the list of the 4 people that still play the old version of the game.

Don't ask what's wrong with me, because I don't know either.Yes, for exbawcks. In fact, I might invest in LIVE soon...
Don't bother going online in Blaz Blue. Seriously. I've played 43 rounds online. I've won once. I admit i'm not the best player in the world, but the magnitudes of ownage i have received go into mythic proportions. People that still play it are good.
I had a similar problem with Tekken 6, seeing as i got the "Played ten rounds" achievement before i got the "Won a ranked match" achievement. Then i discovered that the people in the player lobbies are much less hardcore.
And no i don't just suck overall. I've kept my win percentage over 50 in Street Fighter IV and Soul Calibur IV. My King Of Fighters XII one is currently at 100%, but that's mostly because i've only managed to find two other people to fight.

@Shirow: You really seem to be in the know since you have all of them. What's your preference/why?
I do have all of them :P well, except arcade edition. Regular SSFIV works for me.
I say Blaz Blue brings the best bang for your buck. The story mode is lengthly, the aesthetics are byootifull, the fighting is slick and the characters are all unique. The game sure as hell does NOT pull punches though.
That's not to say the other games aren't awesome, but KOFXII is barren on extra content (Pretty much nothing but a half assed arcade mode) and Tekken's a bit rough around the edges. Nothing that detracts from the pure fighting, but the fact that it forces you to play the godawful "scenario campaign" mode and randomly hands out endings because it apparently knows how frustrating its SNK Boss is kinda rub me the wrong way.

I'm sorry, what? How does Tekken 6 force you to play Scenario Campain?
Tekken 6 comes with the basic fighting modes (Arcade, Verses, Training, Survival), and the Ghost Battle thing. If you want new duds, rack up some wins.
Scenario Campaign is basically Tekken Force, a nifty lil' beat-em-up.
Don't ask what's wrong with me, because I don't know either.Getting a double perfect on an opponent in arcade nets you roughly 5500 gold.
Items cost upwards of 100000 gold.
Taking out one Mook can earn you as much as 20000 gold depending on your setup.
It's broken.
Most of the achievements require you to play scenario campaign mode too, and it's the only way of unlocking endings outside of just waiting for them to randomly become available.
The game doesn't put a gun to your head, but it expects you to play scenario campaign. And it is horrible.
I'm really considering getting Tekken 6 tomorrow. Out of all the fighting games it's the one that appeals to me the most (other than Mortal Kombat, but I already have that), seeing as I don't like Street Fighter.
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.T6 is pretty cheap right now, so I'd say it's a good deal. You can't go wrong. I'd also suggest that you save up for Tag Tournament 2 and (if it's your cup of tea) SFxT/TxSF.
I managed to snag Tekken 6 for twenty bucks... And i got Raiden Fighters Aces and Eternal Sonata along with it, so more like seven bucks.
It really is a great game, despite all my gripes. When the fights flow, they flow smoother than anything else i've ever played. I just hope Tekken Tag Tournament Two lets me bind a sidestep shortcut to the shoulder buttons <_<
If it's anything like the first Tag, you might not be able to. All of the shoulder buttons were used for tagging out with your standby character.
Really? There where four different kinds of tags? Seems like a tad overkill.
I'm tentative on Street Fighter X Tekken, though gameplay videos make it seem less...whatever-it-is I don't like about Street Fighter. Definitely excited for Tekken X Street Fighter.
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass. No, it was the same kind of tag mapped to four different buttons. It's been some time since I played Tag, so I don't remember if it was possible to reconfigure the shoulder buttons.

SF X T seems to merge the strengths of both series without concern for their weaknesses. It goes beyond the best of both worlds and sorta makes one quantum singularity of pure awesome. At least that's how i see it. I'm a tad hyped.
Yeah, it doesn't even give you the option to bind sidestep in 6; only face buttons or combinations of face buttons. Lame.
SFXT idk yet, I'd have to play it, though honestly I find it ugly visually.
Have you ever played SFIV before? It's pretty much the same visual style.
Been playing a lot of Capoeira Fighter 3 recently. As far as online/independent fighters go, it's not half bad - some obvious issues, but still, it's one series I've always felt really had the potential to be something really good if it ever got big development.
Angoleiro for days, son.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Capoeira seems a very oddly specific martial art to base an entire series after. Not that i'm complaining, looks fun.
I know how SF 4 loks like, and no SFXT looks much nastier in comparison due to the weird shading/outlining they're using. It looks like everyone's laminated in some sort of funky plastic or gel.
^It's certainly a neat idea though. I never heard of it before...you know Unknown, I kind of get what you mean.

So it would seem that no store near me has Tekken 6.
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.Order online then?
Pssshhh. Tutorial. I subscribe to the Dwarf Fortress model for FUN.
Anyway, so the stories are different too? Definitely getting Calamity Trigger first if I get Blaz Blue then.
