This thread's for the Spider-Man comics and spin-offs, whether they're decades old or brand new.
- Apart from the main Marvel Universe titles, Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man "What If?" stories, crossovers, guest appearances in other books, Alternate Universe tales and things like Marvel's manga adaptations are all on-topic here.
- Spider-Man 'family' books are on-topic (as are their own crossovers, guest appearances etc.) - e.g. Spider-Man 2099, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, Silk, Spider-Gwen, Venom, Carnage, Black Cat, Red Goblin and Spider-Verse.
- Characters and comics that originated in Spider-Man but are no longer directly connected to the spider-franchise (e.g. Punisher, Silver Sable) are not on-topic, unless you're discussing historical connections and crossovers. If in doubt, check before you write a long post. If this isn't the right place, there's a more general Marvel Comics thread which covers them.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their Spider-Man stories here.
Discussions that are only about Spider-Man adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules - tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).

Oh man, I remember all those characters BND was trying to make work, like that paper girl, or that dude who tried to sue Spider-Man(And I have no idea how that ended.) or Peter's terrible landlady or his cop roommate or Dexter Benett.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. How the business works.
Every writers of every characters run is littered with characters and villains that were only ever relevant in the one particular run or writer who introduced them.
Some become popular to make continued appearances beyond their original creators term, some don't. Its just how it is.

Forever liveblogging the AvengersThe mass breakout of Ravencroft (which is now pretty much just a prison for super-people) at the end of those Ravencroft comics.

Thanks
They're not all that similar. Joystick is far more violent.
Screwball was last seen helping Mysterio with his film.
Joystick is an adrenaline junkie who commits crime mainly for fun.
Screwball is (or was) an attention whore who commits crime mainly for fame.

What was that Spider-Man issue where he was playing Poker with Ben Grimm et. al.? I think it was part of Paul Jenkin's Spectacular run, but I'm not sure.
So in non-stop Spider-Man, the other Spidey book out right now, Baron Zemo's the villain, and he's killing Hydra splinter cells. When asked what the purpose of Hydra is, one of the soldiers mentions the dumb Agents of Shield origin, which was pretty funny.
How is Non-Stop as a book anyway?
Wasn't that particular origin from some obscure comic book arc?
Though I admit, I'm extra sensitive about Agents of Shield right now so I might be taking that one a bit personally.
One Strip! One Strip!A shame that Zemo has gone back to being a Neo-Nazi. I always liked his series BORN BETTER.
I loved his discovery that every single member of his family from beginning to end was a collection of assholes and determining that he should do better.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Ah so they reverted on his character development, that is a shame.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I think they did in SECRET EMPIRE where Stevil insisted that they were best friends and that he should join his new and improved Hydra.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.
IIRC, Non-Stop Spider-Man is out of continuity, given how I don't know any of the side characters and Peter still seems to be at university for the first time.
Granted, I haven't been following Zemo, so I don't know much about his character arc, but I don't think this comic has anything to do with the main Spidey title.
It could be out of continuity, but the ESU stuff isn't proof of that. They mention Connors teaching, which implies it's at least close to what's happening in the Spencer book.
That is how you bring in guest writers from outside the industry. (Looking at you, Kid Abrams Disaster Comic)

I finished reading that the other day.
It sure was. Something? I mean, pretty inoffensive by the end? It didn't blow me away but it had some moments I chuckled at. Its biggest sin was being pushed so heavily.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSpeaking of, said Kid Abrams Disaster Comic could probably benefit from some sort of trivia or YMMV page detailing some of the bizarre choices made by the marketing department regarding it, as well as fan reaction.

I recently reread Ultimate Spider-Man Vol 1, and they still hold up.
God I miss Ultimate Pete.

I'm so excited, Kelly Thompson is one of my favorite current writers and she has mentioned for years that she wants to write Anya.

Happy she's getting featured again in a book.
Well I made a Jossed entry for fans who convinced themselves that the announcement Marvel was teasing at the time was going to be a continuation of the Sam Raimi films.
Edited by Lionheart0 on Mar 19th 2021 at 2:41:25 PM
Oh man, I remember how the hype and excitement for the announcement turned to backlash when it was revealed JJ Abrams and Son were just making a comic.
Like fine, that's a thing, no one was really clamoring for those two to make a comic but dang did Marvel screw over the kid by hyping the announcement.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.
So I guess it would be those three for BND villain who gained some longevity.
