Also a minor technical error made by some guy shut Yugipedia down, and it’s apparently going to take an assload of work to get it back up.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Oh, fighting game deck. I love it here.
- Razen is a shoto. Those are marked by a projectile (Hadouken; Razen's pop effect) and defensive anti-air (Shoryuken; Razen's protection effect).
- Panthera's kicking stance is definitely a recurring pose in fighting game art but I'm not sure what exactly they're supposed to be. Rushdown, I guess?
- Heavy Borger is a grappler. Those are generally built huge like him. Grappling moves are defined by being short-ranged but unblockable, which is probably reflected by his burn effect. Damaged that can't be stopped by monster battle mechanics.
- Dr. Madlove is a trap character. Her debuff effect probably represents poison attacks and the bounce effect reflects a trap character's tendency to avoid direct combat.
- Pluton HG is the amorphous mix-up character. Non-humanoid weirdoes (a liquid fighter, a mass of tentacles, etc) that are hard to master but equally hard to fight against. The way his effects shape his ATK definitely reflects this "hard to use" feel.
- Kaiser Varius is a boss character. His first effect has Super Armor and his second effect has the most complicated command input.
- Rock of Vanquisher is... weird. I guess statues are a common background element in FG arenas, but I still don't understand why he's a thing.
- Dust Devil is a special released out of shield knocking down the opponent fighter. Art and name taking minimal legal distinction from Street Fighter's Tatsumaki Senpuukyaku.
- Continue should be obvious to anyone who has ever played a video game. The 500LP cost is probably paying an arcade machine chip.
- Trinity Burst is knocking an opponent with a support attack from one of your reserve fighters.
- Calamity Kaiser is simply Kaiser Varius's counter move.

Yeah, Panthera is based on rushdown and more specifically that flavor of Fragile Speedster Kick Chick that always seems to be a fighting game's most prominent female character. Her effect to summon herself represents her archetype's speed making it easy to get in and her battle destruction immunity reflects how a rushdown character's faster attacks give them a huge advantage up-close.

🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaKonami knows they don't own Guilty Gear, right?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyThat card is why I said it. I've mentioned it here before.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI don't really understand why the Deck Build packs do this; reveal all but one card in a single batch and then make us wait a few weeks for the last card.
But anyway my impression of VS is that they really need that last card to be something good. At the moment their only way to find monsters without just happened to draw them is Razen, and that's simply not enough for an archetype whose gimmick relies on having a hand full of monsters with different attributes.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."(I don't really have any thoughts on the reveals. I kind of just... don't care the order? Either I like a card, am neutral, or don't at the end of the day).
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.I'm pretty sure "Dust Devil" isn't a reference to the Tatsumaki, which doesn't look like that. That card shows a single upwards kick from grounded. It's likely a reference to the Guilty Gear Dust Attack in name and function since it definitely looks like a Launcher Move. The effect is probably a reference to lauchers being used to open up an opponent for combos where they can't easily fight back.
Really, My mind went straight to Guilty Gear when I saw the words "Dr." and Dust. Dr. Madlove might be a reference to Faust. Razen looks a bit like Sol Badguy with Ky Kiske's color.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyI'll take your word for it since I know nothing about Guilty Gear. My mind just immediately went to Tatsumaki when I read the 5-kanji word with two of them being 旋 and 風.
I'm defintely more familiar with SF than GG, but I just thought of GG first. Plus, as we mentioned above, this isn't the first time they've referenced Guilty Gear.
It turns out Yugioh wasn't the only children's game to have connections to Ancient Egypt and treat itself as Serious Business!

The sad, REAL American dichotomyOn a funnier note: use it to summon Dark Dust Spirit during your opponent's Battle Phase.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaGolden Nova begins the transition from the Duel Terminal's first age to the second with a whole bunch of production value.
Yeah, ain't nerfed enough. Though I do like that the "on opponent's turn" is Normal Summon specifically. It doesn't mean much, but it means any defensive card you can manage to pull out is fairly useless, so it's a bleh balance, but at least an attempt to try and make it harder to use during the opponent's turn. I appreciate the thought, really.
Only thing I would've done is not let any effect activate when specifically normal summoned(at least on your turn. Can't really say if it'd be a problem on the opponent's turn, at least compared to more basic interruption).
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.Yet more minor-villain-from-the-OG-series support!
Meanwhile Panik's waiting in the corner because he knows the Fiends-with-stats-not-divisible-by-five revolution shall come one day, then he'll show you all!
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Ah, the minor antagonists. And yet it doesn't seem like some of these cards are much better than the existing Dinosaur support.
I wonder if 1200 DEF Dinosaur is going to be the new 200 DEF FIRE.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyI mean, being able to normal summon ANY Dinosaur, regardless of level seems pretty decent.
One of the Dinos that can be searched with the Spell is a Kaiju fwiw.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?No idea how we're meant to summon that rank 4. Like surely they're not expecting us to go through the trouble of using Jurrac Guaiba or Evolsaur Vulcano, and every other fire dinosaur is even worse for this purpose.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."They don't need to be Fire Dinos to summon it, just generic LV 4 monsters.
Vegeta: I'm back bitches! There's apparently leaks that the set will also include Evol support. I haven't seen it though.

dpYGO did his usual overview with the Gate Guardian cards.
