Hopefully arcades. If Melty Blood can get machines, so should this game.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.At this years Evolution tournament, Mike Z gave a more in-depth demonstration of the game's engine, characters, and general philosophy. This is the beginning of his presentation (part 1 of 7; you can find the rest pretty easily).

Ooooh
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.So the catgirl character, Miss Fortune, has been redesigned since the last time they released any new art of her.
Here she is.◊ Yes, all those seams are meant to come apart now, not just the one at the neck. (For reference, here's◊ an idea of how this might come into the game.)
Nobody on any of the other sites that have a Skullgirls discussion going seems to have spotted the possible reason behind the change, but I have my own hypothesis — they want to draw attention away from the seam at her neck to avoid messy (if untrue) accusations of "ripping off" another famous character with cat ears and a detachable skull. Frankly, I think they should embrace the awkward coincidence; one of Miss F's win quotes could be "Stop calling me Celty, damn it!"
NOTE: Edited to make the reference slightly more obvious.

...ripping off what other character?
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Yeah I'm confused as to what that's supposed to be referencing as well.
I lie her new design more, and she looks interesting.
I agree that the new design is better, but I only just realized they've been teasing this all along — one of Peacock's item drops is a Yukkuri designed to look like Miss F's head.
I really want to play this game. It looks so fun to play.
Not to mention an all female cast of cute girls.

Watch SymphogearG 4 TV does a few minutes on SG here: http://www.g4tv.com/videos/54929/skullgirls-gameplay-preview/
Animesque. Apart from Peacock it's hard to deny the elements are there. Also, gothic maid.
There might have been a little less backdraft if they'd borrowed more from pre-Anime Western Animation but meh, their choice.
Somebody on another forum mentioned that he couldn't think of this game's setting and artstyle without getting this song stuck in his head. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG3PnQ3tgzY
His influences were definitely anime, although the animation is certainly more Western looking than animeish.
Apparently male characters are planned for DLC.
So you're probably all like "but it's skullGIRLS, I mean what's the point, who even cares, wtf"
But then you look at the character design sketches and all is forgiven. I mean they've got this giant dude with a tank for an arm. OMG
Except [condescending response follows]. Because [sarcasm here]. You do understand [snark], right? POTHOLE TO SARCASM MODEI think they've said that the title Skullgirls is a reference to the game's story and not to its characters. A Skullgirl is what results when a girl with impure or vicious intentions makes a wish on the Skull Heart (the game's chief MacGuffin) — instead of her wish being granted, she's mutated into a twisted creature with literally apocalyptic levels of dark-magic power.
The world of the game is recovering from a great war that only ended a few years earlier. The queen of one of the warring nations obtained the Skull Heart and made a wish on it that her nation would win. It turned her into a Skullgirl, and the war screeched to a halt, as all three countries involved — including her own — were forced to turn their full military might against her to keep her from destroying them all single-handed.
Think about that. Now think about the fact that two of this game's characters (Parasoul and Umbrella, the latter of whom hasn't had an official announcement yet) are the heirs to the late queen's throne. It's got to affect you badly when your universe's equivalent of World War I comes to a sudden stop because all the participants had to stop fighting in order to kill your mother.

I wonder...if they'll ever have an interview where they explain all of the character's names.
Their names are just normal names, they're puns on stuff like fillis, cerebellum, and...I forgot the other girl's names.
edit: oops, I mistook "villi" for "filli"

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I think "Filia" might just be a Shout-Out to the other female fighting game character with Prehensile Hair.
I mean seriously, it's one consonant off.
Pronunciation-wise.
Two for spelling.

"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "Feels like a bit of a stretch...as for Cerebella...sounds like it fits someone with telekinesis or psychic powers, not....whatever Cerebella is.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."From what I understand, Peacock's real name is Patricia, but that name comes from a part of her life that she doesn't like to think about — namely the entire first twelve years of it.
I think Cerebella was just an obvious "head" joke.

I think over PSN/Live, and maybe Arcades. Not sure about the last one.
