Other shoe dropping in three... two...
So... how does Buu have all this power?
Like, this is more power than we've seen, right? Did he absorb Shenron or something? It seems excessive.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.He absorbed everything worth absorbing. I'm sure there's a couple of wizards amongst them.
Shenron would be interesting enough to absorb, I'd wager.
Wouldn't that just kill Shenron?
One Strip! One Strip!Buu granted about one million wishes before he got bored.
So...guess that other shoe is still falling huh?
One Strip! One Strip!I'm officially calling Arc Fatigue. This interruption is nowhere near interesting enough to have lasted this long. Even ignoring the real life waiting time, this entire event is just a stall of the actual plot.

What actual plot? It's a giant tournament arc. It's all about showing some cool fights.
I agree this particular fight has been going on too long, though. The individual snippets of each scene don't last long enough to feel properly invested in update-to-update, and the update schedule is too slow for us to get caught up the high-pace action.
It doesn't help that there are fights that don't bring us closer to resolution (Goten vs Kakarot, Cell vs Gohan etc). Really contributes to the arc fatigue.
Wait, seriously? That's the end of the special? Was this a story that really needed to be told?
Yes, because they are trying to sell the "deep and complicated" Buu.

Holy crap is something actually happening?
You know, I feel like the last several weeks can be summed up in a simple exchange in one page. Goku asks "So what did you even do with nobody left to absorb, Buu?" "Meh, I got bored and was feeling nice so I sat around granting wishes I found worthy. Most of them weren't. After a while I got bored with that too."
Goddammit, that would have been so much better.
Though I suppose that is not really the point of those specials anyway. They're done by guest artist to give the main artist time to draw the main story. And they always end up underwhelming, because if they weren't, they'd be the main story.
Radical idea: have the guest artists work on the main series. Yes, that means the art style would fluctuate rather wildly, but at least we'd be getting somewhere.
Getting some deja vu?
Damn. he's become the bastard child of Captain Kirk and Kenshiro.
One Strip! One Strip!Gohan speaks for the audience.
What the actual fuck
Punching someone into bloody chunks? That is next level edgelord shit.
He could very easily kill Nappa in one blow. This was more effort and doesn't match Gohan's character.
An energy blast to incinerate him would have worked better.
I mean, considering we saw Kakarot keep fighting after getting shot through the heart (AND YOUR TO BLAME!!!!), I can see the logic in not leaving any pieces that can keep fighting, but yeah it was still a bit much.
Of course, it's not impossible that Gohan is just really pissed. His friends and family are either missing or being attacked and all. I'd want to fuck somebody up major league too.
Or are you going to tell me that Gohan doesn't become plain ass scary when he gets mad, because we all remember SSJ2.
One Strip! One Strip!I wouldn't compare 9 year old Gohan to one in his thirties. And I don't see a problem in him being scary, but just spending more effort to punch someone to pieces for no reason.
Like Nappa's dead, this isn't even being sadistic. It's just pointless unless you're specifically trying to be edgy and badass.
Fair enough. I'm still willing to look at it as Gohan kinda going overboard due to rage (he did make it clear his kinda sick of this shit), but that's only my interpretation.
That being said, while it may not have been efficient, you do gotta admit it was effective.
...no wait, you don't. But you could anyway. You know, do me a solid and give me the win.
One Strip! One Strip!Sometimes you just want to make sure someone stays dead. No kill like overkill if you ask me.
