This is the thread for discussion of The Order of the Stick plot, characters, etc. We have a separate thread for discussing game rules and mechanics. Excessive rules discussions here may be thumped as off-topic.

We were distracted by how terrifying it was. I think we're off the hook
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youYeah, we wormed our way out of that one.
“You can’t be an important and life-changing presence for some people without also being a joke and embarrassment to others.” -Mark Manson. So a human, an elf and a crow walk into a bar area of worship...
That's Haley's frost-enchanted bow, right?
Okay, that's hilarious. Low-int summoned minions are the best. It reminds me of the Monty Python scene with the castle in the swamp and the king's absurdly thick guards.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"His inability to identify enemies is an interesting point of view.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youActually, Nightcrawlers have quite good mental stats (20 Int, 20 Wis, 18 Cha). It just wants to be sure it's following the commands of its summoner correctly! Clarity is important. How's it supposed to know who Gontor's mind-controlled thralls are?
If anything, he shows his intelligence by making sure he has all the information he needs to do his job correctly.
It's not a nightcrawler, it's a giant death-worm. Right there in the text. So we can put that argument to bed, finally.
(I don't care if "giant death-worm" isn't in the Monster Manual. It's a homebrew.)
Maybe you'd be less disappointed if you stopped expecting things to be Carmen Sandiego movies. Not the brightest bulb in the drawer, but apparently powerful enough that invisibility is worthless against it.
Course that might be cos it hasn't got eyes, as far as I can tell.
This creature apparently has "see invisibility" as an at-will ability.
Blindsight is a pretty common ability for creatures without eyes. You can just assume they have some alternate sensory organ that invisibility wouldn't work on. Like echolocation or something.

I just find it impressive they identified elf, human and crow so creature knows what all three are
Nightcrawlers do have See Invisibility as an at-will spell-like ability. Just saying—the evidence is mounting.
Except Blackwing is a raven.
Raven vs. crow is an arbitrary distinction, much live dove vs. pigeon.

All ravens are crows (corvids), but not all crows are ravens.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableYep. This thing is totally a Nightcrawler.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.That page is relying primarily on outward physical appearance and behaviors to form a hard distinction that doesn't actually exist, genetically. There's no one, single, unified group called "ravens".
No. Fish are an established class.

Amazing in retrospect that the last strip ended with Hel complaining about a missed opportunity for worm puns, and we didn't take the bait.
