- Nightmare Fuel: Comes with the territory, being a Zombie Apocalypse.
- Tear Jerker: Dirge's presumed end as he falls alongside the collapsing bridge which Zoey is forced to see.
- Ugly Cute: Under normal circumstances, a zombie dog having its face torn off and then crudely stapled back on would be horrifying. Cerberus, as part of his In-Universe redesign process in the original web series, manages to be awkwardly adorable both when he has a skull for face and after Zoe staples it back on thanks to a combination of protruding teeth and still acting like a dog.
- Viewer Gender Confusion: Some viewers mistook Zoe for a boy in the first three chapters of the original series due to her youth and androgynous hairstyle. James Farr gave her Girlish Pigtails from Episode 4 onward to avert this.
