The film

  • Cliché Storm: You can make a drinking game out of how many stalker movie tropes appear in this movie. The basic concept itself is ripped from Fatal Attraction.
  • Critical Dissonance: It only has a 12% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and at one point even had a goose-egg rating. Despite this, the film did reasonably well at the box office.
  • Jerkass Woobie: Anna may be a psychotic stalker and murderer, but from what little we hear of her backstory, she didn't have an ideal upbringing. She was in the foster care system all her childhood and was molested by her adoptive father. Having a boyfriend like Mike couldn't have helped. Her actions are still no doubt horrible, but it's hard not to feel a bit of sympathy for her.
  • So Bad, It's Good: Some people feel this way about the movie.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: When it's first revealed that Anna and her boyfriend Mike were planning on exploiting the surrogacy to scam money out of the Taylors, Anna has doubt because of how good John and Laura had been to her. This had the potential to give Anna a more three-dimensional personality and give her a moral conflict that would make for a good movie. Unfortunately, this plotline is abruptly dropped by Anna murdering Mike.
