• Award Snub: Edward Norton wasn't even nominated an Oscar. This is considered by many to be one of his best roles, if not his best.
• Questionable Casting: NFL star Tony Siragusa plays a Russian mobster. An Italian mobster, sure, but Russian?
• Signature Scene: Monty's five minutes long Cluster F-Bomb rant about New York facing a mirror.
• Tear Jerker: The entire final sequence, particularly when Monty looks out the car window and sees the smiling faces of all the people he had ranted at hatefully before, and the very end when his getaway fantasy turns out to be just that.
• Wangst:
  • Monty's rant about everyone in New York. Notably because of his frequent cursing.
    Monty's Reflection: And while you're at it, fuck J.C., he got off easy! A day on the cross, a weekend in Hell, and all the hallelujahs of the legioned angels for eternity. Try seven years in fuckin' Otisville, J!
  • This is fully intentional, though, since the final portion turns "The Reason You Suck" Speech on himself.
