YMMV / Triachnid

Go To

  • Player Punch: In the last level, two larvae are positioned in such a way that opening the path to the end will drop them into acid. If you don't realize you can use web to save them, you have to drop your children into acid.
  • Scrappy Mechanic: Objects can be carried in the triachnid's mouth, but enough force can knock them out. The reliance on an unreliable physics engine in general counts for this as well.
  • Ugly Cute: The triachnid doesn't really look like a spider, but it's still pretty creepy. You're still gonna want to protect it at all costs.
  • The Woobie: The triachnid is already an endangered species at the start of the game. Then its mate is eaten and it loses its larvae. More importantly, in gameplay, the triachnid is visibly fragile. Moving too quickly damages it, and because of the way it stretches and shakes from the physics engine, a lot of its movements appear intensely painful. It's difficult to say whether that last part was intentional, but it's damn effective regardless.
